CHAPTER 59: | THE MINIATURE WORLD OF THE FIRST SEGMENT | 15
---
Golden veins popped from my skin as divinity flooded my form.
It was hot and searing, as something foreign invaded my body to mark me as a possession.
But I only sneered at Skaira's attempt to mark me as her apostle as I used my authority [Myth Voracity] to devour her divine energy and convert it into my own.
A cold, thrilling power surged through me with each gulp, like drinking liquid starlight.
Skaira, angered at my attempt to devour her divine energy, pushed harder, the divine pressure was like a mountain pressing down on my soul, as blood gushed from my seven orifices, and the Titans shouted in unison.
[The chosen one is awakening! Let Skaira, the benevolent goddess, bless the anointed one!!!]
Solia gazed at me, as if knowing what I was doing through her divine sight, as she touched my chest with her palm then shouted with anger.
"Blasphemy! How dare you deny the benevolence of Skaira! No, it can't be?! This can't be! How?"
Her voice was confused as she began to question her faith.
How could this mere human before her deny the glory of Skaira, of her benevolence, unless...
Something was interrupting the conversation of the holy one...
"..."
Silence broke as Solia, the priestess of Skaira, raised her hand and the Titans stopped their activities, as she shouted with insanity.
"The chosen one has ascended to divinity! Yes, that's it! The chosen one is ascending to divinity and nothing more!"
Solia reached a conclusion, the chosen one wasn't rejecting divinity but rather he was reaching divinity to become equal to Skaira, her respected god.
She spread her arms with fervor as she shouted with fanatical zeal.
"The goddess has sent us a divine one!"
The Titans were confused by her remarks, since how could a mere human ascend to divinity?
It wasn't possible, as only Skaira was the divine one.
They'd only heard that the prophesied one would become the goddess's apostle and nothing more, there was no mention of the chosen one ascending to divinity.
But what could you expect of Titans with their simple minds?
So they believed their priestess's words and shouted in unison.
[The goddess is benevolent!!!]
Their voice echoed, now filled with fanaticism, as they glared at me in a new light, and this was for the better for them to misunderstand me.
So that I could claw my way up and replace Skaira as their god, thus allowing me to obtain their faith, which would in turn nourish my divinity.
But first, I needed to overpower Skaira's intrusion into my body and deal with her attempts to mark me as her possession, as her apostle.
For I, Alister von Fai, am not anyone's apostle, but a god that everyone should worship, should revere, not someone that would revere a lowly, unknown god such as Skaira.
But my authority couldn't push nor devour Skaira's divinity wriggling inside my body to convert me into her apostle, so I closed my eyes and entered into a trance, entering my mind palace, as I smirked.
Then shouted.
"Then let us battle Skaira!!!"
A faint anger was bubbling inside of me as I poured my will along with my authority to devour her divinity, as I shouted.
"Begone, you unknown god!"
Skaira resisted as she began to convert my limbs into her possession, my pinky finger had now become golden in color.
But I only opened my mouth and tore that very pinky finger off in a single bite, as the golden flesh ripped apart with an unnatural snap, as divine blood gushed out from me.
"How dare you, lowly bastard!"
The anger inside me was increasing as my shout echoed.
"How dare a mere unknown divinity transform my pinky finger into hers?!"
It was unforgivable!
How she!
How dare she influence what's mine!
I pushed her into a corner as I pointed at the cluster of divine energy inside my 'mind palace,' as I muttered coldly.
"Perish, you damned thing."
Like a mad dog, my authority [Myth Voracity] jumped at the cluster of divine energy as it devoured them with greed.
As I clapped my hand, a halo appeared above my head as I muttered.
"Sword of the Fallen God."
Inside my 'mind palace,' a massive grey sword made of pure energy appeared as I gripped its handle and swung it with precision, as I coldly muttered.
"Perish."
White light flashed in and out inside my body, or more likely my 'mental palace,' as I tore apart Skaira's influence in my body with each strike.
If you find this story on Amazon, be aware that it has been stolen. Please report the infringement.
As I let go of the sword, I then glared at the clump of divinity with disgust.
"Begone, you damned thing!"
[Sword of the Fallen God] phased through reality as it struck the clump of divine energy.
Then, with a snap of my finger, it exploded like a black hole, as it sucked everyone into a sphere, as I muttered.
"Go."
My authority [Myth Voracity], acknowledging my command and gobbled up the sphere.
As I then sat on my 'mental palace' and meditated, the divine energy that I devoured, which slowly settled in my body.
Hours seemed to pass as I opened my eyes, only to be greeted by Solia, who was now bowing at me with her head to the ground as she spoke.
"The divine one has finally awakened!"
The Titans shouted in unison.
[May the divine one lead us!!!]
Fervor was visible on them as two Titans carried the corpses of the Sky Sovereign Talia and Skaira's apostle, Terror, in front of me as they shouted.
[Please feast upon these, Divine One.]
I gazed at the corpses as I nodded, and before I could eat them, Solia intercepted me as she shouted at the two titan's.
"What are you doing, foolish bastards! Cut the corpses into smaller pieces, you useless bastards!"
The two Titans bowed in acknowledgement, then gripped their swords made of an unknown metal as they sliced it into smaller chunks.
Then after they finished cutting the corpses, the two Titans stood foolishly as Solia shooed them away.
"Shoo! Go somewhere else."
Solia seemed irritated at their foolish display as she grabbed a piece of flesh, then fed me, and I ate.
As why would I refuse being fed by a beautiful maiden?
Solia smiled softly, she was now acting like a maid and not a priestess as she fed me meticulously, and I savored this moment.
Hours passed as I finished eating the corpses.
As I gazed at Solia, I then asked.
"Tell me about Skaira."
Solia nodded as she began her explanation.
"Skaira was born as a star who had drifted into the cosmos for millions, no, billions of years. It was she who created this world, now called the Mara World. It was she who created life and us Titans. And it was she who sacrificed herself at the very first calamity and assimilated herself into this world to prevent the extinction of us mortals, for she was Skaira, the benevolent goddess of the Mara World. And now, we are here as a mere record of the past, living in this accursed land..."
"..."
A Deafening silence dawned us, as Solia hesitated for a moment, then bit her lips with determination as she shouted.
"Please, Divine One, please let us out of this accursed place and meet the primordial Titan once more. So please set us free and allow us to serve you."
I smiled at her answer as I gripped her chin, then gazed straight into her eyes.
She shivered from my gaze that was akin to the void, a cold, consuming emptiness that seemed to swallow all light, but nonetheless, Solia met my gaze, and that was enough for me to determine her worth.
"How foolish of you to wish to be free from this place when you know that you're a mere fragment of your past who died from god knows where. But allow me to ask, is it worth it to live a life full of suffering?"
Solia fidgeted from my question as she pondered, then clenched her fist.
Determination could be seen in her eyes.
"Yes, Divine One, living is worth it, even if it is full of suffering, even if living is pain. I Solia, the priestess of Skaira's, shall continue to live and leave this accursed place someday."
Her determination was kind of cute, as I smiled at her response, because that's the perfect answer to my question.
"Good. Then you shall follow me, Solia."
Solia then gazed at the other Titans as she felt that something was wrong, from the atmosphere and from my gaze alone, looking at the Titans, as she mustered her courage to ask.
"What about the others?"
Her voice was a whisper as she fidgeted from my gaze, as cold chills ran across her spine as I smirked.
"Well, since they are useless... maybe eating them would serve as their very purpose."
Solia clenched her teeth until her gums bled, but she couldn't do anything at all for her fellow tribesmen.
She was angry with herself that she, the shaman, the priestess, couldn't help her tribesmen to escape from the maw of the divine one.
But I chuckled at her expression as I smiled.
"Well, it's just a joke, so don't worry about it, my dear priestess."
After hearing my words, Solia had finally calmed as she heaved a sigh of relief.
She then gazed at my eyes, but before she could speak, she noticed something eerie about my gaze.
She saw the Divine One's eyes that had no emotions and were as cold as the abyss, as she closed her mouth.
Then I gazed at the hologram as I smiled softly.

Absolute Aerial Supremacy [Passive | ??]
The Sky Sovereign's strength reaches its zenith in the sky. In aerial combat, her speed, agility, and offensive power are dramatically amplified to near-divine levels, making her virtually untouchable by lesser beings and her attacks devastatingly precise, capable of striking unseen.
Blood of Skaira's Apostle [Passive | ??]
Terror's very essence is imbued with the divine energy of Skaira. This sacred bloodline grants him an innate resistance to divine and spiritual attacks, enhances the power of his runic armaments, and ensures his spirit remains unyielding even against overwhelming odds, a direct reflection of his revered lineage.
Blood of the Sky Sovereign [Passive | ??]
This skill represents the ancient, pure lineage running through Talia's veins. Her very blood pulses with concentrated aerial mana, granting her inherent resistance to wind-based attacks, a constant, low-level regeneration of her own mana, and a minor, constant healing effect as long as she remains in the sky. It also grants a unique perception of aerial currents, allowing her to read weaknesses in flying foes.
Divine Awakening [Active | 100 - Divine Energy | ??]
Terror undergoes a sacred transformation. His grey skin turns crimson red, covered in glowing runic engravings. Armaments made of an unknown, divine metal manifest on his body, and his club transforms into a 300-meter greatsword. In this state, his physical attributes and divine power are vastly amplified, preparing him for the ultimate warrior's duel.
Gale Phase Dive [Active | 140 - Mana | ??]
The Sky Sovereign transforms her body into a concentrated gale, allowing her to momentarily become pure energy and wind while diving at immeasurable speeds. In this incorporeal state, she can bypass most physical defenses, move through solid obstacles, and reappear to strike her target with immense concussive force.
Hypersonic Flight [Passive | ??]
Talia's unparalleled mastery over wind allows her to effortlessly exceed the speed of sound multiple times over. Her movements create powerful sonic booms, allowing her to appear to phase through space, making her almost impossible to track visually, intercept, or escape from.
Sky-Shattering Footwork [Active | 100 - Mana | ??]
Terror's movements, despite his size, are incredibly swift and precise, showcasing the footwork of a skilled warrior. His powerful strides cause the ground to quake and leave afterimages as he moves, allowing him to vanish and reappear meters away from his target, closing distances in an instant.
Sky Sovereign Form [Active | 450 - Mana | ??]
Talia transforms into her true, unbridled manifestation as the Sky Sovereign. In this grander form, her griffin features may become more ethereal or celestial, imbued with raw wind energy. She retains her full power, but her mastery over aerial magic and concussive wind abilities is significantly amplified, allowing for even more devastating, wide-ranging attacks and unparalleled agility, becoming a living tempest.
