CHAPTER 58: | THE MINIATURE WORLD OF THE FIRST SEGMENT | 14
---
The ground quaked violently as tens of meters of earth were cleaved by a mere strike from Terror.
I dodged his every attack with [Quantum Displacement].
The air where I was standing was cleaved in half, and pillars exploded into pieces.
Terror's physical strength alone made me shiver from just being attacked by him.
"What's wrong, you cowardly human!!! Why are you only dodging right now!!! Fight me like a man!!!"
His shouts echoed.
He swung his club like a maniac, destroying everything in his way.
The titans gazed at me with fierce gaze, their intents screaming [Don't you dare escape from this sacred duel, human!].
But in response to their threat, I only closed my eyes.
I flickered behind Terror for a sneak attack, but his reflex was too monstrous, his club shifted and appeared inches away from my head with lightning speed.
Yet, I'd already anticipated it, and my words were faster than his club as I muttered.
"Quantum Displacement."
The wind shook violently as the pillar behind where I was exploded into pieces before falling to the ground.
But I'd already vanished, reappearing tens of meters away from him, and watched as tens of griffins were caught in his attack.
I bit my lip.
"Damn it, you damned bastard!!! How dare you fucking kill my prey!!!"
I shouted, infuriated that my stepping stones to reach level fifty were nearly wiped out by a mere strike from this brute.
Calming myself, I closed my eyes as mana began to gather in all four of my limbs.
I quickly activated [Quantum Displacement], with anger consuming me, as I compressed the mana on the tip of my palm.
Then I struck his back, muttering coldly.
"Bull Gang."
My palm met his back as the mana from the tip of my finger were compressed into a single point.
I bit my lip with anticipation as the world turned into a searing white for a split second.
Wind exploded from Terror's chest, and a ripple could be heard at the summit as [Bull Gang] worked its magic.
But before I could relax, both of my hands that struck him exploded violently, flying into the air as a handprint appeared on Terror's back.
But I only smiled.
His insides had taken significant damage from the compressed [Bull Gang].
I smirked as blood gushed out from my mouth as I muttered weakly.
"His heart should be finished right now, even if I didn't specifically target it..."
But to my dismay, the titans all around me gazed behind my back with awe as the sound of a war drum erupted.
They beat their chests with their fists as they shouted in unison.
[The Primordial Titan has given us her blessing! Let us celebrate the awakening of the Divine One!!! May the Primordial Titan bathe in glory and honor, for this sacred duel shall yield the result of her will!]
The titans' voices were filled with fervor as a beautiful titan stood and spread her hands into the air, as two other titans lifted her from the ground.
Then another titan stood and kneeled before the woman.
That titan stabbed himself with his hand before gouging out his core, which he then offered to her.
His voice was a whisper.
"May the glory of titans forever be..."
The woman nodded in response as she received the core, and the titan died, turning into dust.
She raised the core, then exclaimed.
"Yor, the son of Ska, has sacrificed his divine core for the Great Mother, the Primordial Titan!!! Let us, fellow titans, honor his glorious sacrifice! Let us, fellow titans, sing his honor so that the Primordial Titan will bless his soul and allow him to enter the heavenly kingdom of the Great Mother!!! Let us bow in prostration to the Honored One!!!"
The titans sang, then bowed in prostration.
The woman, who seemed to be the shaman, raised the core above her head in offering.
She closed her eyes, then chanted as they all shouted in reverence and respect for their fellow tribesman's glorious sacrifice.
[Let this duel be the turning point for us titans! For the Holy One to awaken! For the prophesied ruler to rule us, so that we may meet the Great Mother of Titans, the primordial Skaira.]
The shaman, now bathed in golden radiance, smiled as she opened her eyes, then bowed as she muttered softly.
"Let Skaira bless this lowly shaman..."
Then she opened her lips and gulped the core down.
As she smiled, then spread her hands and shouted with reverence.

"Let the holy duel continue!"
As if in a trance, I chuckled, then jumped from the ground.
I activated [Quantum Displacement], reappearing tens of meters away from the ground as Terror, who was behind me, moved with insane speed.
His gigantic club reappeared inches from my face as I activated [Quantum Displacement].
But to my dismay, he reappeared again and again until he stopped and stood silently as the cold wind blew erratically across the summit.
His body, once grey, had now turned crimson red.
Runic engravements that hadn't been there earlier were now visible on his flesh, and armaments made of unknown metal covered his body.
He gripped his club, which had now transformed into a greatsword as massive as 300 meters that is made of unknown metal.
Terror raised it slowly, then pointed it at me as divine light gleamed in his eyes.
He muttered.
"Let me, Terror, the apostle of Skaira, show you the divinity she left before ascending from this mortal plane. Let I, the inheritor of her will, show you her divinity."
Then, like a gale, Terror danced on the ground.
Afterimages appeared as the ground shook from his footwork.
He vanished like a gust of wind, reappearing meters away from me, his greatsword now slicing at my neck as he muttered softly.
"Brutal Slash!"
Pain attacked my nerves.
As my brain went into overdrive.
Time itself seemed to stop as I racked my brain to find the solution to escape this predicament.
I felt that if this were to continue, my head would fly into the sky in a split second.
[Quantum Displacement] couldn't be activated since it had a few milliseconds delay, so it was a no-go.
Then a smile curved into my face, as mana invigorated through my limbs and into my leg.
I focused all of it into my kneecap, attempting to use [Bull Gang] on my leg to turn it into [Heaven Breaker].
As I stepped through the air, in an instant, my knee struck the gigantic sword that was cutting my neck.
The sky shook violently, and the clouds dispersed as I muttered softly.
"Heaven Breaker."
Then the world turned white as the real impact made the ground quake violently.
The force of the attack phased through the sword and into the sky, causing the very summit to ripple and clouds from thousands of meters surrounding it to disperse.
I grimaced in pain as my kneecap, no, my entire leg, exploded into dust.
The sword exploded into fragments as I muttered.
"Quantum Displacement."
Then the sound of an explosion followed.
Booom!
Terror's hands that gripped the greatsword splintered, then blood splashed as the bones in his hands snapped.
He howled in pain.
"AHHHHHHH!!!"
Having regained his composure, he then shouted at me, rage visible in his eyes.
He couldn't believe that a godless human could injure him the blessed one.
"You! How could you injure me, the one who received Skaira's divinity! Godless human!!! Tell me what sorcery have you used!!!"
His eyes were bloodshot, yet his voice was quite calm in such a dire predicament.
He then snorted, raised his broken hand, and pointed his bloodied finger at me as I remained silent.
As he was about to speak, I closed my eyes.
As I began to imagine something as the halo above me transformed into a grey sword made of pure energy.
I pointed my newly regenerated boney finger, without any flesh, as I muttered coldly.
"Sword of the Fallen God."
The sword pointed itself at Terror.
Then time itself seemed to bent as the world itself paused momentarily as the sword phased into Terror's head in a matter of milliseconds.
A streak of grey light flashed into existence, and Terror's face was etched with disbelief, his last word echoing.
"How? How could you possess the power of a god..."
Then his head vanished into nothingness.
Droplets of water began to fall from the sky as it turned red.
The sound of an explosion erupted as a grey sword made of pure energy struck the ground.
Boom!
The titans gazed at me, then at Terror, with eyes wide with disbelief.
They continued to kneel on the ground as the shaman began to shrink, walking towards me.
But I only smiled at my predicament, as it seemed that death was imminent this early in my life.
"Another match, huh? Perhaps this is my end."
I sighed, then laid down on the ground helplessly.
My hands and leg were regenerating at a rapid rate, but deep down, I knew that I would die.
But did I regret my decision?
Nope, I didn't regret it, since I'd fought a true warrior and obtained something extremely precious from our fight, an enlightenment of my skill's awakening.
So, I gazed at the shadow before me with resolution.
I smiled, then took a whiff of her face as I muttered.
"Beautiful... then I... guess that dying at such a beauty... wouldn't be regretful..."
But the shaman, with her grey skin and beautiful grey eyes that glowed with divinity, only gazed at me as her black hair cascaded down to the ground.
As she kneeled before me.
Her eyes, as serene as the lake, met mine as she smiled softly, then spread her arms into the sky.
She gazed at the clear sky as she proclaimed.
"You, a human who defeated the blessed one in a fair, sacred duel hosted by us, the Forest Titans, and observed by me, the priestess of the Divine One, I declare your victory."
She gazed at the sky for a while, then closed her eyes as if she received the response of her respective god, as she proclaimed.
"Therefore, as the victor of this duel, we appoint you as our new leader that shall lead us to glory."
Then she pulled a core from her inventory, the core of some unknown being.
As she then pulled another core from her inventory, now more bloodied, which she'd gouged out from Terror's body while I was not looking earlier.
Then she presented the core to the sky as she closed her eyes, then spoke softly.
"Skaira, the Primordial God, please bless this, for we have found the Messiah that will guide us to bliss out of this accursed world."
Then she gazed at me with seriousness as she proclaimed with reverence.
"You, who have defeated the blessed one, shall inherit the will of the Primordial One that only the greatest inherits!!!"
I nodded at her as I snapped my finger, and a throne rose from the ground.
I sat with a dignified pose, as it seemed that I had no choice but to inherit it.
"It seems that I have no choice here, right, oh my beautiful priestess?"
The priestess or shaman smiled at me softly as she raised her chin and met my eyes as she jokingly admitted.
"Well, what should we do when the blessed one refuses it, right?"
Her voice was eerie, a contrast to her gentle appearance that glowed with warmth, as I smiled in defeat.
"Well, you leave me with no choice. Then, allow me, a lowly human, to inherit the will of the Primordial One."
The priestess smiled as she snapped her finger, and the core floated as she bowed at me, then softly said.
"A wise decision, blessed one. Now, let us begin your coronation, blessed one!"
Then she carefully wiped the core as if it were a divine object with a clean cloth.
She then kneeled and presented it to me as the tense titans kneeling around us cheered.
Her voice echoed with intensity as she shouted.
"Let us coronate the blessed one!!!"
The titans slammed their fists into their chests as the wind shook violently, and the sound of their fists slamming into their chests was akin to a war drum as they sang in unison.
[In the beginning, Skaira has blessed us. In the beginning, Skaira has sacrificed herself for us. In the beginning, Skaira has ascended to her divine kingdom.]
The titans stopped for a moment as they then drummed their chests.
They howled in unison as the priestess raised her hand, pleasure visible on her face, and shouted.
"The God Skaira has prophesied that a Messiah would appear and save us from this godforsaken land, for he, the Savior, was the one who shall liberate our race from this accursed world!!!"
Then the titans followed.
[She gave us the forest. She gave us the land. She gave us the water. She gave us the wind. She gave us the fire. She gave us the light. She gave us the dark. For she was the benevolent goddess of the world who sacrificed herself for us, for she was ascending to the divine realm.]
The priestess raised both of her hands as all of the titans stopped singing.
Then she exclaimed.
"Let your blessing, oh Great Mother, bless your new champion, the one who will lead us to glory, to honor, oh Great Mother of Titans! Let this be the day that we rise!"
Then silence erupted as they finished their rituals.
The woman before me stabbed her chest and pulled out her core.
She chanted in an unknown language as her core, then the other two, turned into water that then fused into one as she presented it to me, her mouth bleeding.
"I, the priestess of the Great Mother, Solia, shall offer you, oh Messiah, the Great Will of the Mother."
The core glowed a faint sense of divinity as I received it, then closed my eyes as I gobbled it up, and then Solia shouted.
"Our race shall rise!!!"
The surrounding titans too shouted with fervor.
[Let our race rise along with the Divine One!!!]
