I also have multiple heal spells and a resurrect ready in case anything goes wrong. I am pretty sure that I can heal her enough to force her body back to its original form and then bring her back. Luckily, if I mess up, I can get Seronia to help me fix things and bring her back.

  Even if that won’t work, I can get Krenocia to hold her soul while I build a new body. No matter what, there is no way that I am going to let Myria die and stay dead. However, so far things seem to be working as planned, despite the pain she is in.

  In my eyes, the pain is the price she is paying to get stronger, it isn’t pleasant, but she can survive it. Who knows, she may even end up getting the pain resist skill from this. It is a handy skill to have, but getting it really sucks, you have to go through enough pain to almost die.

  While I don’t want her to suffer like that, there isn’t much I can do about it right now. I could try to put her to sleep, but I can’t be sure how that might affect the process. The spell to change her is still running and still taking my mana, another spell could interfere.

  All I can do is hold her and try to comfort her as I watch the spell continue changing her body. Nothing goes wrong, but the process takes almost half an hour and she suffers the entire time. On the good side, the spell removed the failed changes and the damage they did.

  “How do you feel?”

  Myria says “I’m glad that it is over, but I never want to do that again! Also, I am starving!”

  “That’s no surprise. Here, eat. Your body probably used all of your energy reserves. Still, the spell did what we wanted it to. However, you can tell the other girls if you want, but I will never cast this spell again.”

  Myria says “I will have to tell them to explain the changes. Wait, the changes did work, right?”

  “Yes, they did. You look exactly how you wanted to look, but there is something that we need to talk about.”

  Myria says “What? What did you do?!”

  “You no longer have an artificial core, you have a real core. Meaning you can now work on your core and improve your strength.”

  Myria says “That’s great! I thought that wasn’t possible?!”

  “It wasn’t. It isn’t something I could do, but I thought the spell might be able to. I’m sorry for not discussing it with you first, but I didn’t want to get your hopes up in case it didn’t work.”

  Myria says “You experimented on me?!”

  “I didn’t have much choice. Your old core was artificial, the spell was going to remove it. Getting it to turn it into a real core was a long shot, but it was all that I could think of.”

  Myria laughs and says “Oh, I wish I could record your face right now!”

  “Really?! You almost died! This is not the time for jokes!”

  Myria says “Oh, relax. I am fine. Just hungry. Can I have some more?”

  “Of course!”

  I take another serving out of my pouch and hand it to her, then I take down the privacy field. After all, now that the screaming has stopped it is better to be aware of what is going on around us. As soon as it is gone, Lizzy brings her head over and sniffs at Myria.

  Lizzy says “You smell really tasty!”

  “Lizzy, I am not sure which of us would win a fight, but if you try to eat my wife we are going to find out!”

  Lizzy says “Don’t worry, I would never try to eat one of your mates! I was just saying that she smells a lot better than she used to.”

  “That’s a good point. Myria, you are now a humanoid beast rather than a beastwoman. Most people won’t be able to tell the difference, but any beastmen who smell you might. There isn’t anything we can do about that, so just be prepared.”

  Myria says “Alright. I will keep it in mind. By the way, I can’t sense the carriage any more, is that your doing?”

  “Yeah, breaking the connection to it was really easy. It probably was never meant to be permanent.”

  Myria says “So, are we going to sell the carriage to Amn?”

  “Yeah, but not until I make us a new carriage.”

  Myria says “Should I reconnect to the carriage until then?”

  “No, I will alter the enchantments so that it doesn’t need someone connected. In fact, I don’t think I ever actually took a look at them, so I should do that before making one anyway.”

  Myria says “Oh, I figured that you would already have some crazy plan for the new one.”

  “I have some ideas, but I got distracted. I can probably make it so that it floats and doesn’t need wheels. Actually, I could make it fly, but then Lizzy wouldn’t be able to pull it. Although, I guess that I could make it self-propelled.”

  Myria says “Like the cars from your world?”

  “Yeah, exactly! Actually, I could probably make a car now. Or even a motorcycle! Oh, better yet I could make bombers and fighters to go with making Athena fly!”

  Myria says “Hey! What happened to not altering the technology of this world?!”

  “Oh, um! Right, sorry! I guess I got a little carried away! There are just so many possibilities now!”

  Myria says “A little?! No wonder the goddesses were so worried about you being able to summon things!”

  “Relax, I just got a little excited. I am not actually going to make anything that outrageous. I will make a normal carriage. Or at least, normal on the outside.”

  Myria says “Alright, so when are you going to make it?”

  “I am going to need materials first. I didn’t think to bring any with me.”

  Myria says “So, are you going harvesting? Or are you just going to buy what you need?”

  “I don’t know what is in this area so it is probably easier to go buy what I need. Oh, wait, I don’t have any money.”

  Myria says “With as rich as you are, how can you not have money?!”

  “Pol has all of my money. I’ve never asked for any. Normally I just steal what I need, but I haven’t gotten any since my last shopping trip with Lin.”

  Myria says “I guess that means that you are going to have to harvest what you need after all. I’m sure we will come across something on this trip.”

  “No, that’s not the only option. I can go to demon hunter city. I am pretty sure that Zachariah will give me a line of credit or just have me enchant a bunch of weapons to pay for what I need.”

  Myria says “If you are going there I want to go with you! I want a shopping date!”

  “Sure, but first you are going to have to get used to your new body. Since we increased your height a little, your center of gravity will have changed. So you are going to have to get used to it.”
