Myria says “No problem! I will do that first thing in the morning.”
“Why not tonight?”
Myria says “Because I have another idea for testing the changes to my body. One that will be much more fun!”
Before I can answer, Myria stands up, stumbles a little, and then drags me to the carriage. We find both Koko and Leylisha already asleep inside, but I put up a privacy barrier. Then I help Myria thoroughly explore all of the changes made to her body, which I completely enjoy.
After Myria is completely exhausted I open a soulscape, train everyone and then play with the kids. Once the kids are worn out I spend some time with my wives and after they leave I invite the goddesses. I have fun with the two of them and then end the soulscape, but by then Myria is sound asleep.
Despite all the activity in the soulscape, I am not sleepy at all, so I move away from Myria. Then I wrap her in another, smaller privacy screen so that I won’t disturb her. This way, I can continue casting gates and upgrading platforms without disturbing her.
After updating another three platforms, my crown is finally able to connect to the network. As soon as it does I check in with everyone and get caught up on how things are going. Leonarr reports that the war is quiet for the moment, he is waiting for the dukes to move.
He doesn’t want to push too fast and give the dukes a reason to stop fighting each other. It is a wise move and I fully support it, rushing would cost us more casualties and isn’t worth it. Besides, we have already taken quite a bit of land and taken in a ton of refugees.
A break will allow us to consolidate what we have taken and get the refugees settled. Leonarr has plans for all of that and after listening to them, I approve all of them. There are far too many detailed plans for Leonarr to have come up with them on his own.
When I ask, Leonarr has no problem telling me that none of the plans are his, his officers developed them. He has already found the trick of giving them a goal and then picking the best plan out of those presented. It is a trick that I should use, but I just tend to come up with a plan and run with it.
Patience is not something I am good at and I know it, but luckily I have others to make up for it. Even better, they aren’t afraid to tell me when I am wrong or that my idea is stupid. That isn’t limited to my wives, the others will also tell me when I am doing something stupid.
That is a good thing since I often have really bad ideas and I tend not to think them through. It is when I don’t have someone to tell me no that I get in the most trouble. Of course, I will never admit that in front of my wives, they tell me no too often as it is.

I don’t manage to check in with everyone, some of them are already asleep so I will check with them tomorrow. Spirits don’t sleep, so the last ones I talk to are Jarvis and Athena. Surprisingly, Athena has already completed her trip and returned to port.
The ship now has a full crew and a complement of veteran soldiers thanks to Leonarr. They are currently loading the trade goods and will be departing in the next day or two. That means that I should warn Zachariah about it when I see him so that he can prepare.
Athena will probably be out of contact for most of the trip, the communication spell I used for her has a limited range. I can upgrade it to work like my crown, but that won’t do much good until I replace the platforms. I won’t have time to do that until after I visit the Magic Kingdom and deal with whatever the issue is.
However, if I place a platform when I visit Zachariah, then she will at least be in contact while in the city. That way she will be able to get a hold of me if something happens while they are in the city. I don’t really expect any problems, but I didn’t expect any problems last time either.
Well, I expected a few problems, just not the amount that we ended up having to deal with. Although, I seriously doubt that the demons have managed to infiltrate the city again already. Even if they have figured out how to beat the new detection spell, they shouldn’t have had time to infiltrate.
If the demons make a move, it is far more likely that they will attack the ship while enroute. I trust Athena and the troops to handle any open attacks, it is espionage that worries me. I will make sure that Zachariah is going to help keep things like that from being a problem.
Now that I think about it, I did place a couple of platforms on the trip back to the peninsula. If I hurry and replace them, and I upgrade Athena a bit, she should be in contact most of the trip. I don’t think anything serious is going to happen, but it is better to be prepared.
In fact, heading to Athena would make updating the rest of the platforms on the peninsula easier. If I am quick, I can replace the platforms on my way back and be done before Myria wakes up. With a plan in mind, I finish the platform I am working on and then open a gate to my cabin on Athena.
I leave the privacy screens up, hopefully no one will even know that I am gone. Of course, Athena knows as soon as I step through the gate, but she won’t rat me out. I make the needed modifications, then chat with Athena while I upgrade the remaining platforms.
Once they are done, I gate to the floating islands and then the ocean floor to replace the platforms. Those are the only ones that I can remember placing, so after that I return to the caravan. Luckily, everyone is still asleep so it looks like I got away with my little trip.
Since Myria isn’t awake yet, I do as promised and take a look at the carriage’s enchantments. I easily remove the need to have someone bind their mana to it and improve some of the other enchantments. Normally I wouldn’t do that, but I like Amn and feel that I can trust him for the most part.
Of course, I put concealment on the enchantments and then add a lock to make sure no one messes with them. I also add commands words for controlling the shrinking and restoring of the carriage. Then I add a safety feature to make sure it doesn’t shrink with someone inside.
With the modifications there is still some capacity left so I add some extra comfort enchantments. Unfortunately, that doesn’t take me long at all and Myria is still sound asleep. I drop the smaller privacy screen and lay back down with Myria, but I’m still not tired.
