Maybe put in a few hidden gazebos and treehouses that people could use for trysts. Since the girls are here with me, I tell them my idea for using it as a vacation spot for the government and others. They like the idea and Brightfire suggests bringing some elves out here to take care of setting things up.

  Since they are used to living in this kind of environment, it makes sense and I agree. She will talk to her father after the honeymoon so I don’t have to worry about it anymore. That does mean that I will have to set up a permanent gate, but I had planned to do that anyway.

  Lin says “How safe is the island?”

  “As safe as I could make it. It has two barriers, one that warns things away and one that is more solid and backed up by lightning spells. They even extend underground. It would take something seriously powerful to break in. Why?”

  Lin says “And there are no dangerous beasts living here? Nothing sleeping deep beneath the ground?”

  “Nope. At least not as far as I could detect and I did check. Again, why?”

  Lin says “Just worrying about something interrupting our honeymoon. Things are just too perfect right now. I can’t help thinking that something is going to happen.”

  Myria says “I know what you mean. Something always happens when Ash says it is safe.”

  “Hey, those times were not my fault!”

  Lin says “How was it not your fault?! You woke the things up!”

  “Um, anyway I scanned as deep beneath the island as I could and I didn’t find anything sleeping. I didn’t even find any large caverns or anything like that. I chose this place precisely because there shouldn’t be anything here to interrupt us. As long as nothing happens back home, we should be able to enjoy an entire week of peace and quiet.”

  Mercy says “That sounds great for us, but aren’t you going to be bored?!”

  “Isn’t it the job of the four of you to keep me from being bored?”

  Mercy blushes and says “That’s not what I meant! You obviously recover faster than we do!”

  Lin says “I noticed that too. Your stamina seems to have increased since you evolved!”

  “All my stats increased when I evolved. I didn’t think the change was that noticeable.”

  Lin says “It is noticeable to us poor mortals who are trying to keep up with you!”

  Brightfire says “It’s fun while it is happening, but the exhaustion afterwards is a bit of a pain.”

  Lin says “Maybe we should find a priestess with restorative magic to add to our group. She could cure our exhaustion and then we could outlast Ash.”

  “This isn’t really something you should be discussing on our honeymoon. Especially in front of me!”

  Lin says “You said I would be in charge of selecting new wives.”

  “You are, but that doesn’t mean you can discuss it in front of me just to see my reaction.”

  Lin says “Spoilsport!”

  “Besides, I may already have a solution, but I wanted to wait until after the honeymoon to bring it up.”

  Lin says “You already mentioned it, so you may as well go ahead and tell us. This way we have time and peace to think it over.”

  “Well I was thinking about the goddesses. They already like me and I like them. They seem the sort that would get along with everyone too.”

  Lin says “Yeah, but you refuse to become a god to marry them.”

  “Right, but there is another possibility. In D&D, a game from my world, gods had an ability to create mortal avatars. They don’t get any of the divine power and they can live out full mortal lives. When they die, the knowledge and experience that they gained goes to the god who created it. If Seronia and Krenocia can do something like that, I wouldn’t mind adding them to the family. If everyone else agrees, of course.”

  Lin says “Seronia and Krenocia would be decent fits and Seronia could definitely solve our little problem. The question is, do they have that ability? Will they be willing to use it if they do?”

  “I don’t know. I didn’t want to bring it up with them before discussing it with all of you. I wouldn’t want to get their hopes up for nothing.”

  Myria says “I don’t have any objections. They do love you.”

  “I’m not so sure about that. I think they might just want me to become a god so that I can become the head of their pantheon.”

  Lin says “No chance! They know you well enough to know not to put you in charge of anything!”

  Myria says “Yeah, you would probably start a war with another pantheon just because you got bored!”

  “Oh come on! I am not that bad!”

  All four of them turn and give me an identical look, I can’t help but hang my head in shame. By this point we have walked all the way around the island and are back at the lodge. It isn’t a very big island and there really isn’t much to see, but it is peaceful and no one will disturb us.

  We end up going for another swim and then we just relax on the beach waiting to watch the sun set. While we are waiting, the girls continue discussing the goddesses and if they would be a good addition. Their attitude seems mostly positive, except for Mercy who hasn’t had much contact with them.

  Mercy says “I don’t like the idea of sharing Ash’ limited time and attention, but that is going to happen anyway. Since that is the case, sharing him with a pair of goddesses doesn’t sound so bad. I am the newest in this group, so I will go with what the three of you decide.”

  Lin says “I am for it. Myria? Brightfire?”

  Myria says “We would get to sleep with actual goddesses! I am for it!”

  Brightfire says “I am not against it. So, I guess that means we are for it.”

  Lin says “Then it is settled. Ash, once we are asleep tonight, you should have a chat with Seronia and Krenocia. If they can make mortal avatars, I want you to invite them to do so immediately.”

  “You want them to join us on our honeymoon?!”

  Lin says “Yes, I do. It will give us a chance to spend some quiet time with them and get to know them better. Also, with Seronia’s help we will be able to have a lot more fun than we would with just us.”

  “Are you sure? This was supposed to be a special time just for us.”

  Lin says “Yes, I am sure. With Seronia around we will gain more time than we lose. Without her, we are going to spend half or more of our time recovering.”

  Myria says “Besides that, it will be fun!”

  “Alright, I will talk to them. After that it will depend on if they have the ability and if they want to use it.”
