Lin says “Oh, I’m sure that they will want to. It will only depend on if they have the ability.”

  “You are that confident that they have real feelings for me and aren’t just looking for another god for their pantheon?”

  Lin says “Absolutely confident.”

  “How come? Just how much have you been talking with them?”

  Lin says “That’s none of your business!”

  “Fine, keep your secrets.”

  Lin laughs and says “I intend to. Now be quiet and watch the sun set.”

  I do as I am told and quietly cuddle with the girls as we watch the sunset over the ocean. Then we head inside to have some dinner and once we are done eating we take our dessert to the bed. Eating various cakes and things off each other is a delicious way to start our fun for the evening.

  While it is a lot of fun, it does make me really glad that I enchanted the bed and sheets to be self-cleaning. I was planning on stopping after a few rounds, but the girls have other ideas. They insist on not stopping until they are completely exhausted and pass out again.

  This time I stay awake and make sure that I don’t end up pinned among them. I move over to the side of the bed, drop shapeshift, and stretch myself out, wings and all. One of my wings is draped across the floor, but I drape the other one over the girls.

  Once I am nice and comfortable, just before I close my eyes, I open up a soulscape. I make it a map of the continent with a platform floating high in the air above it. On the platform I make comfortable seating and a table with tea and snacks, then I invite the goddesses.

  Krenocia appears and says “Oh, nice scenery, this must be serious.”

  “Somewhat.”

  Seronia appears a minute later and says “Okay, Ash, what did you do this time? I thought you were on your honeymoon, why are you causing trouble?”

  “I didn’t do anything, nor am I in trouble. I wanted to talk to you about something, but first I want to apologize. I am sure that performing the ceremony to marry me to four other women can’t have been easy for you.”

  Seronia says “It’s alright. It was a little painful and I admit to being a little jealous, but it wasn’t too bad.”

  Krenocia says “That was balanced out by the fun of watching you squirm!”

  “I was not squirming!”

  Seronia says “Obviously you didn’t see the look on your face when they came walking down the aisle!”

  Krenocia says “You looked like someone hit you in the gut really hard!”

  “I admit that I was a little stunned when I saw them in their dresses, but I don’t think it was that bad.”

  The goddesses continue teasing me for a few minutes, even showing me an illusion of what I looked like. They weren’t kidding, I did look like someone punched me when I first saw the girls. It is obvious that they don’t plan to let me live this down anytime soon, but I don’t really mind.

  Krenocia says “Alright, that’s enough of that, for now. What did you want to talk about, Ash?”

  “I had an idea, but I am not sure if it will work. In my world there was a game called D&D that I played a lot. A lot of my ideas actually come from that game, including this one. In the game, gods were able to make mortal avatars, meaning an avatar not containing any divine power. Once made, the god lost all control of the avatar and it lived out a normal life among the mortals.”

  Seronia says “That’s an interesting idea, but what is the point?”

  “Well, in the game the point was to let the avatar accumulate knowledge and experience that the god would absorb when the avatar died. It was a way for the gods to increase their personal power.”

  Krenocia says “That sounds good, but I doubt it would help in time for dealing with the demons.”

  “That isn’t why I am suggesting it.”

  Seronia says “Then what exactly do you have in mind?”

  “Well, the main reason that I turned the two of you down is because I don’t want to become a god. I was thinking that if you can create mortal avatars, I wouldn’t mind being with them. However, they will have to help the other girls with the empire and get along with them. They have already agreed to this.”

  Seronia says “That wouldn’t be a problem, but it would be our avatars, not us.”

  “True, but you would gain their experiences and memories when you reabsorb them later. You’ve said a couple of times that you are very patient, surely you can wait until they die to get the memories of being with me.”

  Krenocia says “We probably wouldn’t have to wait. They will still be avatars of us, we should be able to connect to them and share their memories before they die.”

  “I can’t guarantee that, I don’t even know if this is going to work. I think there is a good chance of it working, but it will still be a risk.”

  Seronia says “Maybe so, but it is a risk I am willing to take. Even if I have to wait until the avatar dies, it will be worth it.”

  Krenocia says “I agree. We will see if we can figure out how to create a mortal avatar. In the meantime, we actually have an offer for you to consider.”

  Krenocia says “We know you are reluctant to become a god and be with us, but what if we sweeten the pot?”

  “Sweeten it how?”

  Seronia says “What if your wives also became goddesses?”

  “What?! Are you serious?!”

  Krenocia says “Yes. We are very serious. We have considered this carefully. Lin would become our goddess of magic and both the elves and beastmen would benefit from having a goddess of their own. We don’t know about Mercy, we don’t really know her yet, but if the others approve of her, I don’t think she will be a problem.”

  Seronia says “So, would having six goddesses as your wives make becoming a god more bearable?”

  “I would be lying if I said it wasn’t tempting. I am going to have to think about this. Not to be rude, but do you really have the ability to ascend that many people?”

  Krenocia says “Not long ago it wouldn’t have been possible, but thanks to you, we can now do so.”

  “Thanks to me? I know I have helped you gain power, but is it really that much?”

  Seronia says “Yes, it is. Not only have you helped us gain personal power, but thanks to you we have gained a lot of followers. Stories about you have spread across the entire peninsula and most of them mention that you are our champion.”

  Krenocia says “As people come to believe in you, through you they also believe in us. We gain power from that. Not to mention that thanks to you we were able to recover a lot of items. Those items will make it easier to ascend new goddesses.”
