Just standing there like that must be really boring, I am proud of them for sticking with it. Then again, they have all come to like the girls, so they are probably doing it for their sakes. Whatever the reason, they are behaving and I am proud of them for that.
On the other hand, the wedding has just barely started and I have already gone off script. Luckily, unless someone tells them, the girls shouldn’t find out about it. After passing my kids, I reach the main altar where the avatars of the goddesses are waiting for me.
Seronia and Krenocia smile at me, but I can’t help but wonder how they really feel. Considering that they wanted me to marry them, they are probably jealous. Their condition was for me to become a god and that is something that I just can’t accept.
Now if the goddesses were to create mortal avatars with their looks that might be a different story. That thought is highly inappropriate, especially right now, so I keep my lips sealed. I may talk about it later with Lin and the others later, but that will be after the honeymoon.
Talking to them about it before the honeymoon is over would be just asking for trouble. Besides, even if I wanted to talk to them about it, this is not the time or the place. So, I give the goddesses a warm smile and turn to look at the crowd while I wait.
Surprisingly, despite the place being packed, I recognize almost everyone in the room. I may not remember all of their names, but all of the faces are at least familiar. Of course, there are those I know well, Like Amn and Atesh, plus all the guild masters from Illium.
There are also the chieftains of the beastmen clans, including the three newest additions. I spot Sarah and Arron, and next to them I am surprised to see Pol and Annya. Last I knew they were still on the ship sailing around the peninsula, Lin must have fetched them.
She really does think of everything, I am lucky to have her and today I get to show her. I feel bad thinking about it, but Lin is my favorite, I love her more than the others. If Lin wasn’t for it, I wouldn’t be marrying anyone but her, this whole multiple wives thing is her doing.
Not that I really have any complaints after being with them, but I can complain about not having a choice. I push my thoughts down and turn my attention back to the crowd, the girls should enter soon. I spot Stillwater with a group of elves, I am glad he is here to see Brightfire get married.
I am not as happy when I spot Leonarr, I hope he put someone capable in charge during his absence. The war against the empire isn’t an all out war, but issues could still arise at any time. I doubt that we have seen what the empire is really capable of, they are too busy fighting each other.
Stolen story; please report.
Although, there is a good chance that the demons had already done a lot of work to weaken them from the inside. That might explain why we haven’t seen any powerful individuals fighting against us. If that is the case, then it would be ironic since the demons have made it easier for me to unify the peninsula.
My musing is brought to an end by the music changing to something more gentle. Seconds later the doors open and my four wives walk in through them side by side. My first glimpse surprises me, apparently this world doesn’t have a tradition of white dresses for brides.
The four of them are all wearing different styles and colors of dresses, nothing matches. Lin is wearing a green oriental style dress with black designs on it, very similar to when I first saw her at the auction. That may even be why she chose it and if so it absolutely worked, she looks glorious.
Myria is wearing a tight red evening dress that looks like it is from my old world. Considering all the movies and anime I have shown them, it very well could be. Not that I mind at all, she looks great in it, especially the way the dress hugs her curves.
What Brightfire is wearing can’t even be called a dress, it is more like a pantsuit. It is mostly brown with green leaf patterns on it and it even comes with a cloak that trails behind her. The cloak looks like it was woven from leaves, probably something from elven tradition.
Mercy is the only one wearing something close to what I was expecting. She is in a traditional looking ballroom style dress done in white with red highlights and patterns. It is hard to tell while she is moving, but the red pattern should be the symbol of her kingdom.
All four of them have their hair and makeup done and they look absolutely stunning. It is enough that I can feel my heartbeat increasing just watching them walk towards me. They look good enough to almost compete with the goddesses behind me, not that I will say that out loud.
Such thoughts quickly disappear as the girls get closer and I have to follow the script. I move to one side of the altar, closer to Krenocia, while the girls move to the other. They then kneel down on one knee facing me and Seronia starts the ceremony.
After a few ritual phrases, Seronia guides the girls through their vows, which are different to those in my world. They focus on loving and obeying me as long as I maintain my vows, which come next. Mine don’t say anything about love, they are all about taking care of and protecting the girls.
I would guess that the vows represent that this world is more primitive and much more dangerous. To be honest, I am surprised that the girls didn’t want to change the vows to be something more equal. However, if this is what they want then I am not about to argue, the vows won’t make me treat them differently.
Krenocia finishes coaching me through my vows, then the two goddesses say a short ceremony. After that there is only one thing left, by tradition I help the girl to her feet and kiss her. There is no exchanging of rings in this world, just a kiss to show our unity in front of the guests.
Of course, a simple peck on the lips won’t do, it has to be a serious kiss lasting more than a few seconds. So, at Krenocia’s signal, I step over to Lin, grab her by the shoulders, help her stand, and then kiss her. I do my best to take her breath away with the kiss and keep the kiss going for at least thirty seconds.
