Ep. 1406 The Wedding Part 1

Since I already dealt with the big issue, the talk at my table turns to my plans for the future. It is mainly Amn who is questioning me while the others listen closely to my answers. With the gate, Amn now has a reason to pay attention to what is going on since it might affect trade.

From how he keeps focusing on the gate, I am guessing he is having some financial problems. However, this isn’t really the best place to ask him about it, so I let it pass. If the problems are serious I am sure he will mention them again after the honeymoon.

Then again, from how happy he seems, the gate may have already solved his issues. That would also explain why he constantly wants to talk about it, he is in a good mood. After dessert, drinks are served and the chatting continues for a couple more hours.

By the time the last guest leaves it is already pretty late, so we all head back to the castle. At the girls’ request I have Jarvis turn off the time dilation, they don’t want to get out of sync with real time. I can understand that, at times the time dilation can make keeping track of things somewhat confusing.

The kids are home, but they are doing their own things, so the five of us head upstairs. I go to have my fun with the girls as usual, but they stop me after only one round. They don’t want me to exhaust them since they have to be up early in the morning.

I am not sure why they would need to be up early, after all they have shapeshifting clothes. However, I wisely keep my mouth shut and just do what they want and stop when they want. Unfortunately, I wake up after less than two hours of sleep, but I am pinned in place.

I certainly don’t want to just lay here for hours, but I also don’t want to wake the girls. Luckily, I figured out a trick that should work and I wrap the girls in my mana. Then I use the mana to levitate them and carefully slide out from underneath them.

Once I am clear, I gently move them together to fill the gap I left and set them back down. Seeing them all cuddled up together naked is a real temptation, but I don’t want to die. It will be the honeymoon soon enough and I will be able to do pretty much anything I want at that time.

So, I reluctantly cover them up and head downstairs to have a snack with the kids. After spending some time with the kids, I leave the castle and fly back to the trade city. Using it to orient myself I head out to the quarry and fill my ring up with stone.

Then I hurry back to the castle before any of the girls can wake up and realize I am gone. When I get back, I sit down with the kids and keep them company while I make more small obelisks. I am pretty sure that Lizzy will be out by now and I need to get her more before the honeymoon.

The tale has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

Otherwise she is just going to be sitting around bored, waiting for me to get back. That wouldn’t be a problem, except I have no idea what she might get up to while bored. I would rather not take that chance and the land bridge does need to be scouted.

Besides, I needed something to do, sitting around waiting for morning would drive me nuts. The kids don’t stay up too much longer, they also have a part to play in the wedding. Luckily for them, their part doesn’t require them to get up as early as the girls.

Once the kids go to bed, sitting alone and making obelisks gets a lot more boring. However, if I leave to try and find something else to do, I may just die when the girls wake up. So, despite it being boring, I stay put and keep making obelisks until morning.

I end up running out of stone before the girls wake up, so I take out a manga and start reading. As usual, I get completely lost in my manga and don’t notice that the girls have woken up until one of them pokes me. I quickly get up and join them for breakfast, but they only eat lightly and then leave.

I finish my breakfast and then take out my manga again, but apparently the girls have other plans. I am guessing it was Lin that ordered Jarvis to go over my script for the wedding again. By the time he is done the kids have woken up, so I have a second breakfast with them. Once they are done eating the kids rush off and I am left on my own again, so I go back to my manga.

I read until Jarvis notifies me that it is time for me to head over to the cathedral. I quickly shapeshift into my beastman form and change my clothes into a really nice suit. I make sure my fur is neat and brushed, then I head over to the cathedral to get married.

When I arrive I am intercepted and directed to a side room to wait until it is time. The servant waiting with me goes through the entire plan with me again, just to make sure I don’t forget. I guess that the girls don’t trust me to pay attention to the small details without prompting.

Then again, considering how important this is to them, I can’t really blame them. I don’t exactly have a good track record when it comes to paying attention to the small details. However, they want every single thing to be perfect today, down to the tiniest of details.

Since I am going to be spending the rest of my life with them, it would be stupid to mess things up. So, despite my lack of interest, I pay attention as the servant goes over everything again. Finally the music changes to a martial theme and that is my que to enter the main chapel.

When the doors open for me, the first thing I notice is that the pews have been replaced with more luxurious seating. The next thing I notice is that every seat is taken, the place is completely packed. The aisle down the middle has been widened as well, it should be just enough for the four girls to walk side by side.

The entire chapel has been decorated and is covered in flowers and silk hangings. As I start walking up the aisle, I finally notice my kids, they are all in human form. They are standing along either side of the aisle, as if they are there to keep me from running.

Not that anyone could actually stop me if I wanted to run, but it is still a little odd to me. The girls know that as well, so my kids standing like that should be more ceremonial in nature. As I walk past them, I make sure to smile at them and pat their heads to encourage them.
