Tama
I raised Serenity, glee filling me at a real fight. “Tama and Drake, sitting in a tree! K.I.S.S.I.N.G!” Anna sang in my head. I paused in confusion at Anna’s words. That was a mistake as Drake vanished from in front of me. I tried to dodge to the right, but I got a cut across my arm for the trouble.
I activated my water veil as Drake appeared over thirty feet away grinning. “I thought you were faster than that. How pathetic. Did I misread you?” He sounded irritated even if he was grinning. I couldn’t blame him, I got annoyed when people just stood there too!
“Tama is sorry, Anna was talking to her!” I tried to explain. Drake tilted his head and raised an eyebrow before looking at the empty arena and into the stands where the crowd had actually gotten bigger.
“Who is Anna? I didn’t hear anyone talking to you. Look, if you wanna cry and run away you can do so now. I won’t judge you.. Much more than I already do.” He smirked at me and raised his blade casually and shrugged at me.
“Oh, he is your type. I give it a week before we get to see wolfkin abs!” Anna giggled, causing my gi to shimmer. I ignored Anna this time and quickly healed my cut while blinking into the air. The blast of sharp air missed me by inches and there was a loud crash as the gate and wall behind me shattered and fell apart. Grok’s arena would have never fallen apart so easily.
Okay, it would have, but the runes make it auto regenerate. From what I could tell, it wasn’t coming back. I blinked again, just in time to avoid another blast of air. Bringing up Serenity, I blocked Drake's first blow. He appeared in the air directly above me and swung down.
I dodged midair to the right and brought my hand up, letting out a water kunai. I didn’t have enough time to form a full dagger before I had to launch it and blink back to avoid another swipe. His air shield simply bounced my water dagger off and he vanished again. I stabbed the ground with Serenity and did something I had only done once before. I pushed water from every pore of my body in a full three-sixty bubble.
He appeared inside the bubble surprised and I twirled even as the water faded. It was just a distraction as I got a stab in his right arm. It was only a glancing blow and he managed to vanish again before I could get the full hit off. But I had hit him!
He appeared further away this time. He held his arm and his smile was wide. “That was impressive. Keep that up and you might put up a good fight!” He pulled out a red bottle and drank it. The wound on his arm healed instantly and his eyes narrowed. “Now we get serious.”
I felt glee rise in me as I strengthened my water veil and pushed energy into Serenity. She hummed in pleasure and I felt calm wash over me from her. My head was clear and my target was in sight.. For less than a second as he vanished again.
It’s not like he was going fast, he quite literally disappeared from my perception and reappeared somewhere else. My blink made me go super fast, but I was still there. It’s like he left existence and then came back. But I noticed something. He glanced around before disappearing and usually appeared in an area near where he looked.
With that in mind, I turned and swung Serenity down. I met his bird blade as he appeared. He didn’t seem surprised, only excited and I vanished again. But I saw his eyes and quickly pivoted to block the hit coming from the left.

“Aim for his clothes! We might get a peek under the hood. I bet those babies purr!” Anna said in glee as she giggled even more and I felt wet under my shirt. That caused me to actually look down at Anna in shock. Anna fired a bolt of water and hit Drake head on as he appeared near me. The bolt had specifically hit his shirt for some reason.
Drake seemed shocked at the water bolt, but more so confused. He disappeared and reappeared a dozen feet away looking down at his soaking wet shirt. Anna hadn’t even done damage, just made him wet. “Nya! Tama gets it! Anna is slowing you down!” I said excitedly.
Drake simply took his shirt off and threw it to the side. “If you think that would work, you're wrong!” He called out as he used his wind to dry the shirt before throwing it into the stands. A nearby contender, a small fox girl, caught it and her friends started fighting over it.
I looked back and brought up Serenity just in time to block another blow. He had reappeared next to me and swung left. I ducked and stabbed up. He vanished again, but not before Anna reached out and touched his belly?
I was getting annoyed. I punched suddenly and Drake dodged back. As he did, I grabbed Anna’s core and threw her hard towards the outside of the arena before turning back, now in my underwear.
I took the lead this time and blinked forward, Serenity swinging down hard. Instead of blocking, he deflected and rolled to the side. My attack missed him, but it hit the wall behind him and it shattered. Cries from the stands got louder as people fled from that section of the stands.
He appeared behind and stabbed down towards me. I blinked to the right and then into the air before turning and aiming a water dagger at him. But he was already right next to me and I had to pull my dagger to deflect. He knocked the water dagger out of my hand, causing it to dissipate. But I managed to blink away right as he swung the second time. Another wall crumbled and more fans went crazy.
He appeared next to me, but his sword vanished and he swung a fist. I managed to deflect the punch, but the hit was covered in wind and I was sent spinning and felt the coliseum wall as I slammed into it. I instantly blinked towards the air as best I could, barely dodged the bird sword he had and fired another kunai at him. He dodged again with ease and appeared right in front of me. I smiled and pushed my open hands against his chest.
He paused, only for a second and I used it to use the only move I could think of. I covered him in water chains using an immense push of my energy.
Tied by my water chains, his eyes went wide and he began to fall before vanishing and reappearing further away, still in the chains. He began dissolving the water chains using his wind. I blinked towards him, he barely managed to get free and blocked Serenity with his sword.
He jumped, but I got a kick on him, causing him to fly back and into the wall. It crumbled around him and he coughed up blood. I smiled wide. “Nya! Tama will beat you!”
He jumped up and summoned his sword. “You call that a win? And here I thought you wanted to win in a real fight, not a few scratches!” He disappeared and I went to block. But he appeared on the opposite side I was expecting and I had to duck and blink away as the sword missed me by centimeters.
“That’s right! No more reading my eyes! I saw you! It was a cute handicap, but the fun is just getting started!” He yelled as I appeared and fired a water dagger at him.
“Nya! Tama will win!” I screamed back and fired multiple water daggers. He dodged each one, causing his wind to push them all to the sides and then appeared in front of me. I punched him. He caught my fist and got me in the stomach. I punched him in the face with my other fist.
He spit up some blood and while heavily breathing, fired a wind blade close range. I tried to bring Serenity, but our swords met and I felt my arms weaken. I pushed energy into her and Drake seemed to do the same. I felt a sharp pain and I was thrown back hard. I felt the arena wall as I hit my back hard against it. My vision darkens, but I stand weakly. Our swords are in the middle. I stepped towards Serenity, He is on the other side of the arena. He also steps forward.
“You… won’’t…” Drake managed to say quietly before he fell over and stopped moving.
“Nya! Tama wins!” I cheered. The crowd cheered. Everything went black as the world said nap time.
