Chapter 133: Arrogance, Pride, and Blood

  Tama

“Nya! Tama needs to find the coliseum thingy. Drake said Tama gets to fight him and Tama thinks Aunt Talia knows where it is!” As I spoke the women looked uncertain but waited for me to finish before responding.

“Of course Queen Tamaneko. I apologize, I do not know where the Matriarch is as she stormed off earlier in a huff. However, I can give you directions to the coliseum if you so desire.” For the last bit, her voice rose slightly and she looked a little hopeful.

I smiled and jumped up and down a few times. “Nya! Please take Tama to the fighty place!” I am now super excited. I grabbed the girl and dragged her back out the front door. She paled when I grabbed her and looked like she was about to cry when we left the building. I turned to look at her. “Is something wrong? You don’t know where the fighty place is?”

I leaned in and she shook really bad. “No! I do your majesty, it was just so sudden. I um.. I shouldn’t leave my post. But you are a Princess. I..” She looked very uncertain.

Another guard suddenly called out to her. “Just take her. Princess Tamaneko is not tricking you. That's really her. Matriarch Talia warned she was basically a more powerful version of the regent.” He was standing by a door to the right of us and he was dressed in golden fancy armor. He had a long sword on his back and he was grey haired.

The guard lady bowed slightly and said in a deep, respectful voice. “Of course General Tuliss.”

The General looked at me for a moment before asking. “May I ask where your royal advisor is? It is unwise for a Tamaneko to be alone without an advisor nearby. You might cause some.. Problems.” He said the last word under his breath and my eyes narrowed. I didn’t cause problems! I fixed them!

“Nya! Tama doesn’t cause problems! Tama fixes problems. She is the best Ninja ever!” I glared at the General who simply sighed.

“I apologize, your majesty, I did not realise you were so very adept. Please excuse my words. I was simply stating that a Tamaneko and her royal advisor are usually very close. It is not normal for one of your stature and presence to be.. Alone.” The General guy said as he bowed deeply to me.

I narrowed my eyes further. But I didn’t know how to respond. So I simply told him where Saki was. “Saki is off doing adult things with her boyfriend. Emberly told Tama that they were going to do fun stuff in bed.”

The General nodded and sighed. “I see, that is.. Unfortunate. I am happy for her, but I ask that you find another advisor while she is.. Predisposed.” He turned without another word and walked back into the side shed thing. I shrugged and grabbed the lady guard's arm.

“Nya! Let's go!” I said excitedly and pulled her out toward the gate. I was about to blink but paused. I waited impatiently for the super slow gate to open before blinking through it again.

I turned to the guard lady who pointed to a large circle building. “That’s the coliseum. You just need to..” I grabbed her in a hug and her cheeks suddenly turned red. I blinked ten times in quick succession, landing in front of the building. The lady guard fell to her knees and acted like she was trying to throw up.

“You remind Tama of Saki sometimes.” I said with a giggle. Anna giggled too, which caused the guard to look at my gi in horror.

“Your.. your gi talks.” She said in a weak tone. She stared at Anna unblinking.

“Hey! I am more than just a gi!” Anna said as she jumped off of me and turned into her little girl form. Leaving me in my Saki approved underwear. She had made me start wearing it because Anna kept jumping off me. It was uncomfortable, but I only had it on when Anna jumped off.

The guard took one look at Anna and screamed before she just.. Fell asleep on the ground? I shrugged and dragged her to the coliseum wall. Making sure she wasn’t physically hurt. I turned and looked at the really long line of people in front of the fighty building. I bet they all wanted to fight!

I blinked up to the nearest person. A Nekojin girl who was staring at a big bulky guy and drooling. “Nya! He is so hot! I wanna meet him so bad.” She said as she leaned in and stared harder.

I stared at the big bulky man and raised an eyebrow. He looked stupid. That was way too much muscle. How was he supposed to move right? “Tama disagrees, that man is weak. Tama could beat him with her speed and skill!”

The Nekojin girl and a dozen others turned and looked at me. They laughed and one of them said, “You are going to win against one of the top twenty? That’s cute, go home little kitten.”

I felt my cheeks turn red and I said loudly. “Tama is better than him and Tama will prove it!”

They simply laughed harder and one of them said “Then go sign up kitten. See if you can even reach him.”

Another, the nekojin girl giggled and said “I doubt you will even make it past the first fight!”

My vision turned red and I looked at the man. I jumped into the air and blinked over to him drawing my sword. “Nya! Tama challenges you to a fight!”

The man simply laughed and pet me on the head. It felt good and I purred slightly. “Aren’t you adorable! You wanna fight? Don’t wanna ruin that pretty face. Tell you what little kitten. Have a free ticket! on me.” He pulled a small piece of paper and handed it to me. I couldn’t read it but it had words on it. I paused to look closely at the paper.

I was suddenly dragged into the fighty building by a bunch of people chanting “Grick the Destroyer!” I was so confused and was about to blink out when another person took the paper I was holding.

I didn’t really care, I didn’t like paper. I was dragged into a large area with seats in a large circle. In the middle was a large open place with lots of sand. It reminded me of the goblin’s coliseum. That's when it hit me and I understood. I stood, but one of the nearby members sat me back down. “Hey! Don’t block the view!” She cried out.

“Tama is sorry!” I said quickly as I sat back down and looked at the sand in confusion. Three goblins entered the sandy area. They looked feral. Nothing like Grok’s men. Another man walked in from the other side. He had a sword and a shield. The fight was super slow and the man kept taking hits and playing defensive. I frowned and wanted to say something, but the cheering was so loud.

My ears flattened and my eye twitching, I watched as the man barely won against three measly goblins and then had to be taken away on something that looked like a thin portable bed.

I watched two more men enter the arena from both sides. One had a really big sword that he held wrong. The other one had a shield and sword. The sword and shield guy danced around the guy with the big sword. But at one point he dodged wrong and his head hit the dirt. The cheering got even louder and they dragged the dead guy's corpse out of the sandy area.

How weird. In goblin arena’s, the bodies stay until the end. It is supposed to show how strong one is. I was not a fan of these ‘duels’.

“Still think you would stand a chance against such vicious fighters? That last guy was easily a C rank!” The Nekojin girl, who was sitting next to me, crowed at me. I raised an eyebrow.

“Tama thinks that they are slow and weak and wouldn’t win against any of Grok’s men.” I said simply.

The nekojin girl snorted at me and said “Sure, look, try not to embarrass our species. We get a bad rep as it is. Especially with our Regent being a ditz.” She turned back and cheered as a man with a bow and arrow fought a gleeblet.. Just one. He lost and they had to clean up his innards from the sand.

I snorted at that and said “Yes, that one was so strong! He almost beat a single Gleeblet! Maybe with years of training, he might actually be able to touch Tama.. While Tama is asleep.”

“Nya? You are so full of yourself. Do you even know how foolish you are being?” She responded with annoyance. I turned and saw her glaring at me.

“If Tama is so weak, then why can’t Tama prove she is not. You don’t even let Tama try. You trap her here in this place!” I said angrily as I glared back.

She glared back at me even harder then said “You know what, you wanna go to your death, fine. I will sign you up myself!” She said, She stood and stormed off. She reached the end of the place after a leisure stroll while miming running. Then turned back and said “Be ready to lose badly though! I’ll have a healer on standby!"

I turned back to the arena and watched another slow motion battle. It was a group of wolves fighting a team of five. The wolves lost handily and for once I was actually smiling. I liked watching people work together. Even if they did it in exaggerated slow motion.

The Nekojin girl showed back up and looked down at me with a raised eyebrow. “Well, now you're all signed up. Don’t say I didn’t warn you!” She sighed after a moment and looked out at the arena before looking back at me with sad eyes. “Please don’t do this. Our kind has a bad enough reputation…”

I stood and said “Nya! Don’t worry. Tama will win. Tama promises. These people are so weak!” I gave her a winning smile. She just sighed and sat back down before putting her head in her hands.

I looked at her and tilted my head slightly. I opened my mouth to speak, but a man appeared in the middle of the arena and spoke into a small black thing. It made him sound super loud causing me to flatten my ears. “Ladies and Gentlefolk! Today we have a newcomer who has decided to take on the arena! She comes from a place unknown and wishes to fight. Let's give a round of applause for our new challenger!”

The man pointed directly at me and I looked confused back at him. He did a gesture with his hand that Saki did when she wanted me to come closer. I stood and blinked down to him with ease. He seemed taken aback and almost tripped. I caught him and he thanked me quietly before putting the black thing up to his mouth again.

“Well, that was quite the show of speed there! Please new challengers, give us your name so we know who to write down for the history books or who to give to the coroner!”

The whole crowd of people cheered loudly and I looked around before yelling “Tama is Tama!”

The man looked at me for a moment before shaking his head. And saying to me quietly. “No, like a stage name. Something that matches you. Are you an adventurer? Got like a title or something?”

I thought for a moment before saying “Nya! Tama is the Third Person Tempest!” I bounced up and down and the man nodded approvingly. That is a vicious name! He turned back to the crowd and spoke.

“Today we have Tama the Third Person Tempest! A one woman storm in Nekojin form. Do any challengers dare fight her?” His words echoed through the cheering people. Who somehow got louder?!
