Joshua stood in the field, surrounded by a horde of wolves. He had his blade in his hand for protection, but the overwhelming number of wolves showed no fear of it.

?Joshua did not stop his blade, no matter the amount of enemies pouncing at him, it swung through the air, slicing past the skin of the wolves, and spilling out blood and flesh.

?The light armor worn by Joshua was already drenched in red, and the amount of killing of wolves he was doing only increased the redness of his sword and the armor.

?Melavan had joined him in the battle, but they were at a distance of at least fifty feet from Joshua. The wolves never made it easier for them to get to Joshua, and Melavan watched helplessly as a group of wolves jumped at Joshua at once.

?What Melavan expected to see was Joshua being torn to shreds by the beasts, but in fact, he saw Joshua avoiding the jumping wolves like the wind that blew effortlessly past them.

?This in turn once again gave a rush of excitement and thrill to Melavan , seeing how a kid showed skills in battle far more than he and his own platoon of soldiers.

?Joshua, who was engaged in battle against these wolves, at the same time had no time to think of anything besides countering his enemies. It was not an easy task to counter three wolves at once, but thankfully he had his speed to give him an edge.

?Stepping away from a wolf's rush, Joshua's blade pierced into the back of the beast, then he stepped onto the back of the beast and leapt up, lifting the sword as he fell down while thrusting it into the other beast standing to the side. Not taking any rest, Joshua swung his sword again at his back where he already expected an attack, and just as he did, the third wolf's teeth-filled mouth came into his vision.

With a swing of his sword, Joshua struck at the beast, and the blade brushed past it with a slight cut to the face. Continuing his attack, Joshua ran at the beast as it whimpered from the cut, and his blade struck forward at the wolf unprepared for the battle.

?"What the fuck am I seeing? Three wolves at once... it all happened in a matter of five seconds. What kind of training has this kid been doing all this time?"

?Melavan was left in awe, and he wasn't alone, those soldiers that witnessed Joshua's actions were momentarily stunned in their hearts.

?Taking down three wolves in what felt like one swing did take a toll on Joshua's body. Being fifteen years old, he is still a kid and requires far more energy to move like he does. Unfortunately, he did not have his meal for the night, which made him lack the energy he needed to go into the battle for longer periods of time.

?Taking things into consideration, Joshua lifted his head, looking at the dark fur beast still standing at the center of a wolf group.

?Just as he was looking at it, the wolf was also watching. And both their gazes met like predators seizing their prey.

?Joshua saw another three wolves departing from the group and rushing in the direction of the battle. but judging from their direction Joshua had already guessed that the three wolves' target is specifically him.

?The soldier's actions gave answer to the pondering questions in Joshua's mind, the dark fur wolf is undoubtedly the one leading the wolves. Because of the existence of the three headed wolf, Joshua did not come to a conclusion that the dark fur wolf could be the leader of this whole pack he only guessed it to be a creature that can give commands to others, and the other wolves obey its word without resistance, like puppets.

Joshua grabbed at his sword once again, his grip tightened, despite the numbing feeling he felt at the tips of his fingers after waving the sword for this long and with great force Joshua pushed himself to stand up and prepared to defend against the three wolves.

?It was then a howl came. It echoed through like a catapult swinging through the air. And looking at its source, Joshua saw the howl belonged to the three headed wolf, and he saw Death Galloper sitting on the back of the middle head of the wolf and thrusting his sword into the head.

?It howled again and attracted most of the battlefield's attention, especially those with keen hearing like wolves. Joshua gazed at the dark fur wolf and saw that it had turned to look at the howling wolf and paid no attention to him, and similarly, even the three wolves had their attention drawn to the howling wolf.

?Joshua was in a bliss, his feet moved on the ground into a position, and then, like an arrow being released from a bow, he thrust himself forward—approaching the three group of wolves in a few seconds of running and jumping past each and everyone like the wind that blew past.

?The wolves, sensing the movement, turned to see Joshua move past them and now approach toward the dark fur wolf.

?In his vision, Joshua saw that the dark fur wolf already took notice of him just when he rushed past its three henchman wolves. And while it gazed, Joshua approached it and swung his sword across the air, aiming at its neck as his target.

?But, just a spark of a moment away from his blade slicing the neck of the beast, it jumped, moving back from where it was to several feet backward. Without his target, Joshua was left with empty air to slice. And his gaze slightly frowned as he observed it's moving enemy.

?"This wolf is fast, that jump to the back of the pack is like a frog that jumped away. And it did that with such a swift motion, like how a shadow moves in the dark, without a hint of difficulty."

?He evaluated the dark fur wolf and also came up with a name for the wolf by himself.

?"Dark Shadow, your skin would make a fine robe for my honor after I take you down."

?Joshua muttered, and both his and the Dark Shadow's gaze met each other.

?A howling went off again from the other side of the battlefield. And it was like a signal for them to start this battle. Holding his sword, once wielded by the right hand man of his father, Joshua prepared to rush at the beast, but once he looked at the beast, he saw it still standing, and in its eyes was a hint of hesitation.

?The other wolf howled again, and the Dark Shadow gazed at it and appeared to have come to a decision as it turned toward the direction of the three headed wolf.

Sensing Dark Shadow's intention is to assist the three headed wolf, Joshua did not delay any more of his assault. He cannot possibly let the Dark Shadow help the three headed wolf that battled against Sedric. It would be a fatal mistake in the battle that could eventually turn into a disaster. But more than that, Joshua isn't willing to let a mistake like that happen while he is the one battling the Dark Shadow.

?Allowing a mistake like giving Dark Shadow an opportunity to assist the three headed wolf would shame his name and his own skill, Joshua would never let that happen.

?The Dark Shadow is now his responsibility, and he will use it only to increase his honor and name, and not to dishonor himself and his skills.

?Rushing at Dark Shadow, Joshua stood in its way, blocking the path it turn to run to the three headed wolf. But Dark Shadow did not stop, it showed no hesitation in its movement and ran at Joshua. Getting close, it jumped away in an extremely fast movement, unable for any soldier to catch onto.

?But in an unexpected moment, Joshua's sword came swinging through the air just when Dark Shadow was about to pass by him. It growled and barely avoided it by just an inch, losing only a handful of fur.

?Dark Shadow had a clear sign of surprise in its eyes as it now looked at Joshua. But it tried again. Despite failing once, it showed no signs of giving up, and Joshua's sword came swinging down through the air once again at its neck.

?Dark Shadow became cautious again after losing another handful of fur to the red stained blade. And this time, Dark Shadow showed a sign of learning its lesson.
