Its eyes drifted from the path Joshua blocked, than turn elsewhere and rushed toward it. The direction it headed is where the other knights fought. And Joshua isn't as fast as the wolf to catch up to it.
?With its incredible speed, it came rushing through to the group, and the Dark Shadow pounced onto a soldier, ending his life at once. With its remarkable agility and speed, it avoided the spears and struck nearby soldiers who threw weapons at it, and it continued to run through the soldiers while taking out one after another—soldiers that are already occupied by other wolves.
?"Why did it change its direction now? Didn't Dark Shadow want to help the three headed one?"
?Joshua pondered as he ran behind Dark Shadow. And he soon witnessed an answer to his question.
?Despite being physically stronger and larger than any ordinary wolves, these wolves weren't easily able to take down properly trained soldiers from Sedric's group. And the soldiers themselves, although unable to defeat and kill quickly, are still able to keep two to three wolves at bay by themselves.
?However, once Dark Shadow took down the soldiers in a swift manner, these wolves kept occupied by the soldiers became free, and the free wolves, seemingly receiving a command from Dark Shadow through a growl, turned and ran to the aid of the three headed wolf.
?"I see now, it's taking out soldiers that are keeping other wolves occupied so, in turn, the other wolves can go to the aid of the three headed wolf."
?After taking out more than three of the soldiers among the group, the Dark Shadow turned to its next target, and that was Melavan, who took notice of the incident and came to block the assault carried out by the wolf.
?His blade is also wet with blood of the wolves and gripping it with his armored hand Melavan stood firmly, gazing at the beast that is like a stain of shining darkness on the ground.
Aside from its malice and terrifying way of battle and killing, Dark Shadow's beauty is truly one to behold. And it shines even more in a battlefield where red and death thrive.
?At once, Dark Shadow disappeared from Melavan's vision; the beast that was like a dark spot on the ground vanished, and Melavan had no time to look around before, suddenly above him, he saw the shadow of darkness and lifted his blade for defense.
?A powerful paw swung down, and Melavan defended himself against the sudden strike. The beast's strength showed superior to him, as Melavan felt his hands go numb and he took more than five steps back from where he was after he successfully defended against the attack. He looked at his attacker and saw that it was the Dark Shadow.

?It moved at a speed that Melavan wasn't able to keep track of, in other words, in this battle between the beast and him, there is already a clear gap between them.
?Yet, Melavan gripped his sword with his numbing hands and lifted himself up from the ground, only to see that the beast once again disappeared. He looked around, a panicky flash across his face. The moment he turned to the left, he heard a growl from behind him, and the attack came swiftly toward his blind spot.
?It was a strike from the paw, and Melavan's back armor was ripped by three clear claw marks. He fell after the attack, and the beast once again vanished.
?Holding the sword, Melavan looked around again while trying to get himself up, and the beast appeared from behind another wolf while rushing at him, from a dozen steps away. Melavan raised his sword but realized the time is not on his side.
?The dark fur wolf's speed is impressive to behold. And it closed in just two seconds after its appearance, giving no time for Melavan to even swing his sword. He gritted his teeth, while abandoning the thought of an attack, he prepared himself to bear the pain of an attack from the beast.
?But just at that moment, from behind the beast, Melavan saw the figure of Joshua leaping up with the sword in his hand, lifting it and swinging it at the beast.
?The keen senses of the Dark Shadow had also picked up the presence of Joshua at the same moment, and it jumped away, missing the sword barely from its neck.
It gazed at Joshua and pounced on him just as it avoided the strike. Its rage at him showed through its fearsome facial expression. Sharp teeth are shown with growling and frowning along with fearsomely locked on eyes, the beast showed the expression of a wild beast for the first time.
?Joshua did not delay in his response. His blade swung again in a curve, slicing at the wolf. But its speed was slower than the beast's, giving it the time and opportunity to jump away to avoid and choose a next place to attack. But Joshua's own instinct caught up to the beast and its movement, and his blade curve again and swing to respond to the beast's attack, mostly blocking it without time for an attack of his own.
?The two fought fiercely, the wolf, relying purely on its extraordinary speed, launched attacks at Joshua that were hard to keep track of, but Joshua managed to defend himself against the beast using his own experience and skill as a man who relies on speed in a battle.
?Melavan lay still on the ground, beholding the battle that he could describe only as something happening in fairy tales. Joshua and the dark fur wolf were right in front of him, but he could only see them at once when they were engaged in a clash against each other—when Joshua defended himself from the extremely fast-moving wolf's attack.
?And just after that defending position where the two beings' figures became visible to him, Melavan lost sight of them again as they moved fast around the field. While Joshua was battling, Melavan could hear the claps of Joshua's blade clashing against the razor-sharp claws of the wolf and the growl of the wolf as it bit at Joshua, only to end up being defended by his sword.
?Looking at this battle, Melavan saw that there is no clear winner. Both are relying on their speed, but none had the advantage over the other. Although the wolf had faster speed compared to Joshua, Joshua made up for that with his own experiences in battle. Thus, even though the battle continued fiercely, it had come to a stalemate.
?Unless something happened, Melavan knew from his own experience that this battle would continue until one side makes a mistake, and that side would mostly be his ally. As it is the nature of man to get tired and exhausted far easier than beasts in the wild, Melavan , knowing the risk, decided to be the mistake his enemy makes.
