Chapter 45: Once More, They Failed.
(Celia’s POV)
Faith: “You all failed to notice any of this in Celia, and now it is far too late. At most, she will live for only 10,000 more years.”
Everyone: “…”
Faith: “She lost those memories, but the stains upon her soul from the original timeline had followed her to this one. That wouldn’t have been so bad, but Celia took on so much more stains in this version of time…”
Silently, we watched the lovable Celia sleep. All of her wives were now aware of how they will outlive her, and I am sure that this hurts them greatly.
Perhaps even Midas noticed this, which is why she agreed to be Celia’s wife in her next life. In truth, I knew it all along as well. Celia’s souls needs to be cleansed within 10,000 years, and that is nothing for me to wait for.
Her wives had no say in anything against this, as they had greatly failed their duties to Celia. Once more, even in the supposed better timeline, Celia had sacrificed herself for them. An extra chance was given, but the mistakes of that timeline were repeated.
If you spot this tale on Amazon, know that it has been stolen. Report the violation.
They have all proven that, even though her wives truly do love her, their relation is toxic. One goes crazy when it love with such a woman as Celia. As such, their focus was on making sure that they never hurt her with their yandere insanity.
Lia: “Can we not save her?”
Maralia: “No, we cannot. I found her too late. Even an item that could resurrect a person… wouldn’t work.”
Lia: “No…”
Celia was late to start the game, but her wives and friends didn’t get the same treatment. All of them had already finished their parts by now, and were idling in a rest dimension.
Ria: “Oh, I was right…”
Maralia: “Yes, you were. Killing her wives and family, or making Celia hate them, was the only true way to save her.”
Nia: “Maralia… is there really nothing that we can do?”
Perhaps giving them their memories back… was a mistake. If Maralia didn’t decide that doing so would be okay now, then they wouldn’t have to suffer like this…
Maralia: “There is nothing to do but to love and care for Celia until she passes. Know that… I do not see you all as failures. Not even Ria expected this, and that is just how it is.”
Ria: “Should we tell her?”
Maralia: “No. The grief that she will feel when realizing that she’ll leave her family behind early… would lessen her remaining time greatly. Get through the game, deal with the Higher Beings that set in motion her fate, and rest with Celia in her remaining years in Home.”
The discussion was surely painful for them, but not for me. I had no choice in this matter, and I never had the power to stop Celia as she continued staining her soul.
In this beautiful soul realm, there was a lurking darkness slowly corrupting it. I did my best to not let Celia notice it, and so far, she hasn’t. My job will be to do what Celia’s wives and family failed to do. With Maralia’s and Midas’s help, Celia’s next life will be happy, and no stains will be forced upon her tender and lovely soul. This, I swear!
