Devil’s Son walked into the secret bar. He never knew why it was called that. The bar was no secret and hardly a bar at all. It was really just a pit stop for people running from the law and for shady business dealers. But one thing was certain, most, if not all the people that came in here had no love for the law. much less the royal guard.
He looked around. There were pick pockets and thieves, there were sword sellers, and information sellers. That’s what he was looking for- Information. He had sent out a spy but knew that the information would still not come easily so he came prepared. With a poisoned bottle of wine, two wine glasses, and vile of the only cure for the poison.
He walked up to the table where he usually met with his sources only to find it occupied by a group of drunken thieves. He smiled, it had been a while since he had made trouble, and he was getting a bit bored. He walked up to the table right as one of the thieves was pulling more wine from his sash.
“Well hello friends I see that you have warmed my seat and got me a bottle of wine” he said with a smirk. “That will be all,now off with you”
The thieves laughed and stood up “well ain’t that cute, the man in the cloak thinks he owns us” said one of them defiantly.
“Yeah” said one of the others as he chugged down another wine glass. “Why don’t we teach him a lesson?”
Devils Son smiled, “Take your best shot” He challenged, excited at the idea of taking on a whole thief gang. “I’m open”
The first thief lunged at him with only his fists, but Devils Son easily moved to the side, in one swift motion. He turned and saw another fist swinging toward him. Before his helpless victim could react, he grabbed his fist and flipped him over. He came crashing down on one of the other tables smashing it to splinters. This one was obviously the brute of the pack. He frowned, realizing they would prove even less of a challenge than the minimum he was hoping for. By this time the others in the bar had recognized the fight and were gathered round. He may not get the challenge he was hoping for, but at least he could put on a show. Because everyone loves a good bar fight. After dodging hit after hit with little to no effort, he was getting a little bored.
A case of literary theft: this tale is not rightfully on Amazon; if you see it, report the violation.
“Fight back coward!” shouted one of his opponents. The crowd liked this idea “yeah, give us a show!”
With a grin, Devil’s Son mumbled a few words in the ancient language. The whole group of thieves flew clean across the room and were knocked out cold. The crowd laughed and shouted, and after a few minutes returned to their earlieractivities.
Devil’s Son returned to the table to find one more thief sitting there. “Sir, I suggest you move, you are in my seat” he ordered.
“And I am also your spy”, the man responded. “Do you want the information or not?” ?Devil’s Son smiled, realizing which spy he was meeting with “Brick, I didn’t realize you werethe spy we sent, otherwise I would have brought a harmlessbottle of wine” He let out an evil chuckle, and sat at the table “So, what do you have for me?” he asked.
Brick smiled and pulled out a letter from his robe pocket and gave it to Devil’s Son. “It seems as though our little message really scared Angel’s Daughter” he said. “She is on her way to see the king and queen about going into hiding”
Devil’s Son smiled “The perfect coup opportunity. Youhead back and tell the rest of the group. I think I will try to find some trouble”
They both smiled and before Brick left, he turned to Devil’s Son. “If you're looking for trouble”, He said. “There are two royal guards waiting to ambush me across the bar. If you want to make a scene, that would be the perfect opportunity”
Devil’s Son smiled, got up and removed his hood, revealing his face. There was a scream of terror as the whole bar went into a panic. Everyone, even those that lurked in the shadows feared Devil’s Son. As he proceeded to enjoy yet another fight, Brick made his escape just as Devil’s Son captured two more souls trapping them eternally in his sacred ring.
