Chapter 1 The Son of a Devil

It was a busy night in the big city of peace. This city was a remnant of an all but forgotten civilization. It was once great and peaceful but had fallen victim to the passing of time and now is only remembered by the Thief Clan and a few select others.

As we speak, a member of the Thief Clan has been cornered by half of the entire royal guard. A boy of but 19, one of the most feared and powerful wielders of an ancient magic. Even his name was in the sacred language and when translated would strike fear into the hearts of everyone, young and old. The name that every child fears in the night, the name that every man would give his life to fight, the name: “Devils Son.” As this feared man stood before half of the entire royal guard, he spoke an incantation of one single word, and every strong, healthy soldier that stood ready to take this man into custody, fell dead by this single word of magic. Instead of letting the souls of every soldier he killed rest in peace, he spoke these words in the sacred language, ’You belong to me’ and he took the soul of every soldier that had fallen to him, and trapped them inside a sacred ring that he wore on the second finger of his left hand.

He took a minute to look at the ring. As he gazed at it, he saw the reflection of his face. He saw a young man of 19, with solid black hair, dark blue eyes, and light gray skin. He saw the face of a man who cared nothing about life. The face of a powerful, and cruel man with tattered clothes and sloppy hair. Laughing at his reflection he drew his Invictus dagger from its leather sheath using it to slash the throat of the strongest man and using the man’s own blood wrote a message on the wall next to the soldiers who lay motionless on the floor. He laughed with evil and malicious intent and disappeared into the night. Leaving a stain of cruelty and evil on the once clean garden, turning it from a place of happiness and joy, into a graveyard of mournful death.
