Chapter 20: The Final Battle: part 2

Chapter 20 — The Final Battle: Part II

(Arc I Finale — The Awakening Arc)

  The battlefield trembled.

The Greater Titan hovered above the shattered ground, shadows coiling beneath it like a living abyss. Victor stood below, one hand raised, fingers curled—as if the sky itself was caught in his grip.

  Daniel stared in disbelief.

  So did everyone else.

  Everyone except Leo.

  He was gone.

A sudden shockwave split the air.

  BOOM.

Leo reappeared mid-air and drove his fist straight into the Titan’s face. The impact thundered across the battlefield. The Titan’s head snapped sideways as chunks of shadow tore away, and its massive body crashed into the earth below.

  Dust. Smoke. Silence.

For a heartbeat, it looked over.

  Victor’s eyes narrowed.

  “Something’s wrong—”

In the same instant, Victor’s psychic grip yanked Jackson backward—

—but shadows erupted beneath Jackson’s feet.

Darkness wrapped around his legs, dragging him downward.

  “JACKSON!” Tom shouted.

Jackson reacted on instinct. Space twisted—and he vanished, reappearing a split second later, Noir had teleported him, gasping as the shadow snapped shut where he’d been standing.

  The ground burned.

  “FLAME PILLAR!!” Tom roared.

A roaring column of fire slammed into the shadows. The darkness recoiled, scorched—but then it rose again, reforming at the center of the battlefield.

The Greater Titan emerged from the flames.

  Its body burned.

  Its smile didn’t fade.

The tale has been illicitly lifted; should you spot it on Amazon, report the violation.

  Laughter echoed—twisted, unhinged.

  “Enough child games.”

Every shadow Titan on the battlefield froze.

Then they collapsed inward, dissolving into black streams that surged toward the Greater Titan. Power swelled. The air screamed.

  “NOW!” Daniel shouted.

  They attacked together.

  Lightning tore the sky apart.

  Firestorms raged.

  Time fractured.

  Threads slashed.

  Gravity crushed.

  Space split.

  Psychic force howled.

  Steel, fists, magic—everything they had.

  The explosion swallowed the battlefield.

Smoke rolled outward like a tide.

  Then—

Two glowing red eyes opened inside the darkness.

  A grin followed.

  Nothing else.

The shadow expanded, towering over them, growing countless arms that lashed outward like living chains.

  One by one—

  Selena was seized.

  Noir vanished into shadow.

Sasha’s time magic shattered on contact.

Tom was ripped from the air.

Jackson was slammed into the ground.

Mr. Stone was crushed beneath invisible pressure.

Their attacks passed straight through it.

  Time didn’t work.

  Space didn’t work.

  Nothing worked.

Only Daniel, Victor, and Leo remained standing.

  The shadow leaned forward.

“Why help these puny mortals?” it hissed. “You are—”

“SHUT UP!!” Victor’s voice detonated through the battlefield.

Leo stepped forward, fists smoking, power condensing around them.

  “Enough.”

  He vanished.

  “METEOR BLAST!!”

His punch tore through the shadow mass. Three arms disintegrated. Sasha, Noir, and Tom fell free.

  Victor followed instantly.

  “PSYCHIC SLASH!!”

A crescent of violet force carved through the darkness. More arms collapsed. Mr. Stone, Selena, and Jackson dropped to the ground.

  Daniel raised his hand—eyes glowing.

  The Greater Titan froze mid-motion.

  “Victor!” Daniel shouted. “Now!”

  “Kid—make a katana. Fast.”

Daniel didn’t argue. A blade formed in mid-air and flew into Victor’s grasp.

  Victor surged forward—

  —but the Titan screamed.

A spiraling beam of shadow erupted.

Daniel barely had time to react.

  The blast struck.

Daniel's left hand tore off. He fell

  “DANIEL!!”

The Titan seized Victor with shadow, but Leo ripped the arm apart mid-air.

Then, the greater Titan annoyed, covered itself in a sphere made of shadow, and then—

The Greater Titan roared and evolved.

Its form grew larger. Horns twisted higher. Shadows hardened.

  Then it attacked.

Bullets of darkness tore through the battlefield.

Daniel reappeared behind it, spear in hand—

Then he stabbed but the spear shattered.

  Daniel in shock

The Titan's body was too strong.

  Leo shouted, “GET AWAY—!”

  The Titan turned.

  Smiled.

And stabbed Daniel in his gut.

Daniel's face expressionless, blood dripping from his mouth, then—

  Silence.

“DANIEL!!” Tom screamed, rushing forward—only for Noir and Mr. Stone to grab him back.

  Victor and Leo’s aura exploded.

The Titan raised its hand again—

  It never fired.

  Its arm fell.

  Victor was already there.

Leo followed—driving a punch that sent the Titan crashing across the battlefield.

  Noir teleported Daniel to safety.

The Titan retaliated—blasting Victor and Leo away.

  It lunged for Daniel—

  —and stopped.

Every remaining hero stood in front of him.

  Shaking. Bleeding. Standing anyway.

  Then—

  Victor and Leo moved.

The battle that followed shattered the field.

Leo tore through shadow with raw force.

Victor bent reality with pure will.

  Fists met void.

  Psychic force crushed darkness.

  The Titan screamed.

  It fell.

  Victor’s hand glowed violet.

  Leo’s burned white-hot.

“Wait!” the Titan gasped. “You know what you are! Why save them?! They are nothing—!”

  Victor answered calmly.

“We save them because we choose to.”

  Leo stepped forward.

“And we stop monsters like you.”

  The Titan screamed—

  “YOU ARE FUCKING G—”

  “Enough.”

  They struck.

The Greater Titan rose into the air—

  —and detonated.

  Silence returned.

  Daniel lay barely breathing.

  Victor knelt beside him.

  Leo said nothing.

A took a green stone out of his pocket.

They both poured their magic into that stone, it glowed brighter.

  The wound vanished.

  Daniel lived.

The city welcomed them as heroes.

  Cheers. Tears. Relief.

  The world had changed.

A week later, they sat together—laughing, eating, alive.

  Like a Family.

Noir finally asked, “What did that Titan mean by ‘g’?”

  Tom added, “And that stone?”

  Victor smiled.

“You’ll find out. When the time is right”

  Leo nodded.

  “Just wait and watch.”

  Laughter filled the room.
