C53

I look down on the warp touched girl, and wondered what to do. Her face was young. She was tall and thin, abnormally so like she wasn't fed or something. Given that at the first opportunity, she made a break for it, led me to think she wasn't as loyal as I might have thought.

There were other features too. I had read about psykers, and other mutations of the human genome that allowed for humans to use the warp. This girl though... she had the third eye typical of one of the navigators.

I... Had no idea about the next step, so to speak. Why send a valuable person to raid a ship? I... This was, officially, out of my pay grade.

I commed Anibeli. She didn't respond. Ok then. It is now my pay grade. Damn.

What to do... Ah. Keep her alive, wait for judgment later! Passing off responsibility is truly always the best solution. Now, how to do this... Ah, idea!

I reached behind me, and the scarab climbed into my hand. "Make a helm to cover this one's head. I have read that that eye is dangerous. Use the corpses over there. Go." I said.

The scarab floated away, and I returned my attention to the girl. First, stop the bleeding, then the scarab makes the helm. Take to medbay, put girl in coma. Wait for Anibeli to tell me to kill her. Good plan. Now for step one...

  Anibeli's POV

And...They were there. They had reached the maximum effective range and they were out and home free. The last borders had been taken care of, and now they could continue as they had been. Perhaps with a mite more caution.

  Now, it was ti-

A com hit her personal device and she looked. Three? Had she- Ooooh. She had. Whoops. She answered and spoke.

"Nezekiri, my apologies. I was delayed but all is now well. We have reached maximum effective distance and are home free. Now what do you need?" She asked.

"Excellent, Lady Anibeli. Now, I have a bit of a situation. I have acquired a hostile witch and request orders on what to do with her." Nezekiri said.

"Uh, isn't it obvious? Just kill her?" Anibeli asked confused.

"Well, that was my plan starting out, but so many oddities have built up that I think you should judge her in person." Nezekiri said. She went on about the means of capturing her, the fact that she was a navigator, the fact that she was sent aboard their ship, and more.

Anibeli's face grew more and more blank with each word, and when Nezekiri finished, they sat in silence. Eventually, Anibeli spoke.

"You were right to capture her. Something smells off about this. I'll be down shortly. Excellent work, my friend."

"Ever do I try, Friend. Ever do I try."
