After ending the infuriating call with Camille, Fenix’s fury bubbled just beneath the surface, itching to break free. He angrily threw his phone onto his desk, making a loud cttering sound that echoed in the otherwise silent room. His hands shook as he balled them into tight fists, his knuckles turning white from the pressure.
Closing his eyes tightly, Fenix took a slow and deliberate breath before releasing it in a controlled exhale. Even though the world around him was peaceful, it felt like there was a tempest raging within him. He focused on calming himself down, fighting to steady his breathing as the minutes ticked by.
Gradually, his initial fury transformed into resolve. His gaze, once fiery, now burned with focused intensity as he made a silent vow. He would cim the title of being the top chef in Haven Online, and take away all the success that she had gained from the title.
The thought of her ripping everything she fought so hard for away from her fueled his resolve. He would not rest until he had everything she desired and more. Only then would he be satisfied.
With his goal firmly in mind, he made his way to his pod and climbed inside. He carefully connected the electrodes to his body before putting on the eyewear and starting up the machine.
As he logged back into the game, he found himself standing inside Melvin's toy shop once again. However, unlike st time, it wasn’t empty. It was quite full, with different people of all ages, mostly NPC’s but there were some regur pyers scattered about, mostly younger pyers with their guardians.
Melvin dashed around the shop, assisting customers with a warm smile. When he saw Fenix, he waved cheerfully before returning to his duties. Not wanting to get in the way, Fenix stepped outside and was momentarily blinded by the bright afternoon sun. As his eyes adjusted, he noticed that the street was more packed than usual and wondered why that was.
Shrugging off his thoughts, Fenix checked his friend list and saw that ChibiScker was online. He hoped the boy hadn't been waiting for him during the few hours he had been offline.
Just as he was about to message him, Fenix noticed that ChibiScker's status was set to "busy". Figuring he was in the middle of a quest or task, Fenix decided to wait until he finished before contacting him.
Since ChibiScker wasn’t here to distract him, Fenix decided that he might as well try figuring out how to acquire some of his Potion-Making combat css skills. Because once he had his css figured out, he could focus on leveling up his cooking.
Lost in thought, Fenix found himself in the town square near a fountain. It was a typical sight, with a cherub statue surrounded by flowers and spouting water from its mouth. But Fenix still found it pleasant to look at as he sat down on one of the benches nearby.
‘A good pce to think,’ he thought as he racked his brain trying to recall everything he knew about the artisan css and how pyers obtained their skills.
Recalling the guides he used to read for fun on the game's forums, Fenix remembered some details about the Artisan css. If he recalled correctly, the bcksmith combat talent besides getting skills from the job change package, the pyer also got a bck leather smock. From the smock description, pyers learned about “the trial of fire.”
According to the guide, the Trial of Fire was an exclusive arena accessible only to combat bcksmiths. To enter, pyers had to purchase a teleportation scroll from their instructor and then they would be transported to a rundown room filled with broken weapons.
Pyers are given a limited amount of time, between 30 minutes to an hour depending on their level of expertise, to repair any damaged weapons of their choosing. Once completed, they are thrust into battle against a monster or NPC of equal difficulty. If they emerge victorious three times in a row, they can either gain a new skill or continue fighting to earn valuable materials.
Meanwhile, tailors receive a silver bracelet capable of holding needles. The inscriptions on it are cryptic, simply stating "find (person's name)." By speaking the person's name out loud, pyers trigger a quest that provides clues about their location and background.
Despite its seeming difficulty, this quest is actually quite simple as the person is always found in the same town where the pyer accepted the quest, usually in a seedy bar. From there, pyers must complete tasks to become the person's apprentice. This makes the tailor css the easiest among artisans to acquire new skills.
The Combat talent for Chefs is particurly intriguing. They are given an apron with instructions to seek out a gourmet chef. This leads them to the mayor's residence where a former royal chef now resides. The chef has a tragic past as a combat cook.
After expressing a desire for a quieter life as a regur chef, the pyer is tasked with destroying mutant rats who threaten the food supply. These rats hide in ten different dungeons and for every one that is defeated, the pyer receives both standard rewards and a new combat skill.
Fenix ran his fingers through his hair, as he tried to recall any information about the Potion Making combat css talent skills. However, he came up with nothing.
This made sense, since most pyers gave up after a few days of trying to figure it out, ciming it was impossible. It looked like he would have to rely solely on his own abilities without any help from the future.
Although he knew this from the start, he still felt the need to double-check his memory. As he searched through his mind for any hints or clues, he remembered that each combat talent gave a clue that could aid in obtaining new skills.
Opening his inventory, Fenix retrieved the gloves he had received yesterday and read their description again.
Shilvak’s Combat Gloves: Shilvak, the legendary combat potion master who once walked these nds. His skills with potions were feared and revered by all who knew him. But one day, he disappeared, leaving behind only a manuscript detailing his adventures. Enhancement: Throw +10 Dex +5.
It seemed that his instinct when he first read the gloves description was correct. There was a hint - Shilvak's manuscript. Fenix hoped that it had been made into a book and stored in the town's library as he thought. If not, he had a sinking feeling that he would have to embark on a long and difficult quest to find it.
‘Is this why so many pyers gave up on the potion combat talent?’ Fenix wondered. He really hoped not. He really didn’t want to embark on some long arduous quest.
Opening the map, Fenix pnned to head straight to the library and search for the book. However, before he could take one step in that direction, a notification popped up before him.
[System: ChibiScker is requesting a video chat. Do you accept it? Yes or No?]Fenix clicked yes and ChibiScker's excited face appeared on his screen.
"Chaotic Nexus! You won't believe what just happened," ChibiScker excimed, clearly ecstatic about something.
