Okay, calm down Elizabeth...this can't be all bad. Granted dealing with both [The Beast Master] and [The Elementalist] would be difficult if not close to impossible.
But surely it wouldn't be that bad...right?
[The Traveler] sounded like would be mostly annoying and not that hard to deal with after all, granted he was a Saintsworths, those tended to cause more problems than anything, even when they attempted to help. So far not a single Saintsworths had helped Elizabeth, Rossie or Rena.
And no, Mother did not count. Elizabeth loved her to no end, but she made her life harder if anything.
"Feeling the pressure? Want to change your plans going forward now?" Jenna asked Elizabeth with a mischievous smile on her face.
"No," Elizabeth said shaking her head, "If anything this is good, it means I now know that the most powerful one is tied to Izanami and the one holding his leash wants to have a good relationship with me. So he shouldn't be an enemy...yet. Those three are Heroes right?"
"Yeah. Those that are technically Heroes are: The Beast Master, The Traveler, The Elementalist, The Monk and The Prophet." Jenna answered once more, "The Villains being myself, Shadow Pact, The Tinkerer, Echidna, The Sniper and The Warlock."
"Next one I would like for it to be [The Monk]," Rossie suddenly said from the side, "If that is okay with you Eli-Eli?"
"Sure, I don't really care for the order to be honest." Elizabeth answered, "Besides we will need to know how to deal with them either way, since I have a feeling that they will no longer ignore us after they find out what we did with Shadow Pact."
"Then it is decided, the next one will be The Enlightened One." Jenna said pulling out the next dossier, "Xuan Wu, [The Monk]."
The image of the monk wearing a black mask that covered his face whole, the image of a man wearing robes similar to those of the [Elementalist] but still distinct enough.
"He is a Holy Magic Caster of a different [Faith] than the one the [Prophet] follows, and obviously is different from the [Faith] from the church made by your parent's faith." Jenna said pulling images of a temple set up high in the mountains, it looked full of other people wearing the same kind of robe, the only thing that changed was that these weren't wearing the skin-tight body cover that [The Monk] was wearing, "We ...aren't quite sure why he covers his whole body, not a single monk uses the same type of clothes."
And that was the truth of the matter, for Elizabeth couldn't see anyone else dressed like him.
"He is quite the simple man, he is well settled as [Hero]. As far as qualifiers go, he is probably the only one who truly deserves the title." Jenna said with a wry smile, "He is...someone who truly wants to live up to justice, but is also someone who could never meet eye to eye with your parents."
That...was confusing.
"Then shouldn't he be an ally so long we are doing what is good?" Elizabeth said, raising her hand; if anything...if he was really a true [Hero], then shouldn't he be amenable to help them?
"What is justice?" Jenna suddenly asked, what was she going on with this question? "Each one will answer, and so will I do at the end."
"Justice is whatever is good for Eli-Eli," Rossie said first, "Anything that Eli-Eli decides to do is Justice, anything that goes against her best interest is evil."
Yikes...
"Justice is...what the strong person decides it to be," Rena said after a few seconds of silence, "I was weaker than Akira. So what he did to me was deemed Justice...I was saved by Eli who was stronger than Akira, so Akira's Justice was turned into Evil..."
That...was wrong...
"Akira's skills deemed him Justice, and he attempted to wield them against Eli, but Eli was stronger. And she saved me...So for me Eli is Justice." Rena ended saying, "Even if someone else came and was stronger than her, I will still think of Eli as Justice, because to me. She was the one who broke me free from the grasp of Evil. No one else attempted to save me, not [Heroes] or [Magical Girls]. And certainly not [The Nine Stars] or [The Twelve] you speak of."
...Yikes x2.
"Your turn Elizabeth," Jenna said turning to Elizabeth.
"Justice...is doing what is right for the people you love." Elizabeth decided to say that at the end, "Doing whatever is needed to keep my loved ones safe is Justice."
Jenna nodded at her words, so Elizabeth decided to ride that.
"Protecting the people I love and dealing with the people that put them at risk is Justice for me," Elizabeth said, "If that means fighting against [The Nine Stars], [The Galaxidae] or the MPI. Then that will be my Justice."
"Mine is the same, but that is obvious." Jenna said smiling, "After all your Justice was born from [My Hero]. He was the same, for him Justice was protecting his Family."
The narrative has been illicitly obtained; should you discover it on Amazon, report the violation.
Elizabeth could see that, Papa was always a hopeless romantic like that.
"He rose to the top of the world because people wanted to mistreat [Magical Girls], he invited magical girls into the [Twelve] because he wanted to have excuse to have your Mother around." Jenna couldn't help but shake her head, "He took Avalon for himself since he wanted a place to have a house and Family...and he ascended to godhood because he wanted to make sure you were safe. Justice for me is also like that, doing what you want to make sure those you love are safe."
Yeah...If Justice couldn't protect those you love...Elizabeth didn't want that Justice.
"For [The Monk], justice is not that." Jenna said turning once more to the dossier, "His definition of Justice is doing what is correct for the greater amount of people. If killing you would save 10 people, he would do it."
That...was wrong.
There was no way that murdering Elizabeth would help ten people, if anything Elizabeth was half sure that it would bringe a great danger into the world.
"I'll kill him," Rossie said as her figure started to shift into the (Hot)Demoness.
"I'll murder him," Rena added from the side as her body started growing extra arms.
Elizabeth placed a hand atop both girls and helped them calm their rampaging mana, it was easier to achieve with Rena who turned into a cute puppy, but Rossie was closer to attempting to calm down a cat who wanted to rampage, cause death and destruction...and also destroy your new chair.
"Calm down both of you," Elizabeth said turning to Jenna, "That was an example I assume, since you aren't saying he is an enemy."
"Yeah," Jenna nodded at Elizabeth, that helped calm down both Rossie and Rena at least, "But he is still dangerous, since his sense of justice is flawed like that."
Flawed?
"He will deem what society needs as justice and ignore the rest," Jenna sighed as she explained the problem, "And in this case, he considers the opinion of those at the top like the truth, namely in this case. The leader of the most powerful hero organization in the world."
Oh...Yeah, that could be an issue. Elizabeth understood what the problem was now.
"So that means that our next debriefing will be about said problem." Elizabeth said turning to the remaining dossiers, "So what is the deal with the italians that everyone is complaining about?"
"The Italians, as your Mother liked to call them..." Jenna said bringing two new dossiers, "Lucia De'Medici and Giovanni De'Medici, [The Prophet] and [The Warlock]."
The image of the two people in question was brought to the front as Jenna packed the [Monks]'s dossier.
"They are both contractors, Lucia being a Holy caster and Giovanni being a demon caster." Jenna said pulling to the forefront an extra dossier, "Giovanni is being contracted to at least two overlords and some extra demons, the one he uses the most being Lucifer and Asmodeus."
That gave Elizabeth no clue whatsoever about what he could do.
"Lucia, on the other hand...She is contracted to at least one Archangel, and there are some rumors of her attempting to contract with your Mother but..." Jenna said, leaving those words hanging in the air.
"Mother will never take in the contract," And said as such, "Yeah I know. She hates this type of things."
"Well, it matters not in this instance," Jenna said shrugging, "[The Prophet] can force divine contracts so long she has some of the gods Prana in question. It is a matter of time till she gets something that can qualify as a holy relic, the only reason she hasn't managed it yet is that your Mother never uses her Prana for her miracles."
Elizabeth could see it, neither of her parents using Prana just to spite the fact that they ascended to godhood.
"She can get quite the boost of power thanks to the Archangel she can summon and has the whole legion of angels under him as her summons too," Jenna said with a shrug, "And then there is her brother..."
Jenna brought then the image of a man with blue skin and horns, she had already got a small presentation of him before hadn't she?
"[The Warlock]?" Elizabeth said confused, "He was the weak dude right?"
Elizabeth had that impression of him at least.
"He is...indeed weak." Jenna said sighing, "But not for the reason you think. He is somewhat unlucky guy, born in the wrong Family and tied to powers he didn't understand."
Elizabeth was confused by that description, what did Jenna imply? Weren't they the more likely enemies that she would end up fighting against?
"Like Lucia, Giovanni is a contractual mage caster." Jenna started pulling out pictures, similar to the ones she had seen when Agatha explained his powers, "He summons demons, devils, spirits and similar creatures and makes a contract with them, then uses those powers to increase his might."
"That sounds like a combination of what the [Elementalist] and [The Beast Master] do." Elizabeth said pointing out the similarities between what Jenna was saying, if anything [The Prophet] sounded more like forced the contracts while [The Warlock] merely signed them.
So was he...using his demonic-like powers to enforce [The Prophet]'s contracts?
"It...kind of is, you see. While Lucia forces a contract using her power, Giovanni achieves a sort of.... equal parties contract I guess... He attempts to create a middle point for the parties involved." Jenna said bringing a contract from the dossier, "Usually they are something like this."
The contract read that the signing party would guarantee power to the contractor, while the contractor would do their best not to willingly put at risk the contractee.
It had some guarantees about what could and couldn't be done, but overall it didn't sound that bad to be signed. If anything Elizabeth wouldn't mind signing one thanks to some of the perks being offered. Not that she would actually sign it.
"How do you have this one?" Elizabeth said turning to Jenna, "I would assume these are usually only shown to the ones signing them, like the whole NDA thing that is known in corporate enviroment."
"He offered one of those to one of my Echoes," Jenna said with a shrug, "It was never signed but it gave me a good look to what he can and can't do."
[The Warlock] attempted to sign a contract with one of Jenna's Echoes?
"Anyway, that is beside the point; what is really important here is the fact that he has at his command a couple Arch Demons and at least one Overlord." Jenna said showing pictures of [The Warlock] with different type of horns and leathery wings behind him.
In one of those pictures, his wings had the appearance of a dragon even. That... could be dangerous.
"Hah!" Rossie laughed from the side, "So [The Prophet](Bitch) enslaves gods while [The Warlock] makes safe contracts with demons?"
"That is one way to look at it, but yes." Jenna said in answer, "Some people say [The Warlock] does it like that because he needs to be wary of the contracts since he deals with demons..."
Elizabeth doubted it was something as mundane as that the reason, it was probably something more in line with his personality than a requirement set up by Hell's inhabitants.
If they were something like how Elizabeth had been while controlled by Pride, then chances were that either they would not care about contracts or would strive to fulfill contracts even if that meant they would be signing unfair contracts.
This brought up the question of why he was even making fair contracts. His sister for sure wasn't setting up fair ones after all.
"And that is the Italians, a little sister who enslaves gods and an older brother who respects the rights of demons." Jenna said with a shrug, "If...you end up fighting against them, all I ask is that you are fair to Giovanni, he...really wants to make the world a better place."
This was probably the first time that Jenna had ever asked something of Elizabeth, even while uncomfortable Jenna never asked Elizabeth to restrain herself. But she was asking a favor for the sake of someone else?
"Why?" Elizabeth asked curiously, "You didn't ask anything for yourself or even ask us to not fight against your former comrades, but you ask this of someone who will probably end up as an enemy?"
"Is he your lover?" Rossie asked from the side.
"Pffft?!?!!?" Jenna almost choked on her own without drinking anything, "No, nothing like that. He was...someone who took care of me when I was... less."
Less?
"How so? He took care of you while you were little? Something like how Eli's Father took care of you?" Rena asked from the side, "Wouldn't that be ages ago? You are older than us, right?"
"....heh," Lily merely said that and nothing else.
There was something afoot here...
"I...was not always like this..." Jenna said, blushing slightly.
"Well of course, growing up is like that for all of us, I was quite flat like you too, but between targeted diets enforced on me and some skill shenanigans I grew up to this figure," Rena said nodding sagely, "You can still grow up, maybe if you take some extra skills and a different diet?"
"Or are we talking about psychological issues?" Rossie said from the side, "You don't strike me up as someone with any dependency issues, leaving aside the daddy issues you seem to have. I don't mind those, by the way; I'd rather you go for Eli-Eli's father than her."
Well, Elizabeth did mind it! She minded that very much!
"No, not like that...or well, yes, but not like you think." Jenna said, struggling to weave the words right, "Here!"
And in the end merely screamed that while shoving some pictures forward, "That is how I looked at the start of the year, that is quite literally how I looked on the day of the [Advent]."
Well...
"...They grow so fast..." Was all that Elizabeth could say.
Now...
How did this happen?
