CHAPTER - 202
Narrator: Lunch was over. Dav stood up in silence.
His movements were slow but precise, almost solemn.
Without saying a word, he walked toward the exit of the dining hall, leaving behind the clatter of cutlery and light chatter.
He headed to the Arena, ahead of everyone.
All eyes turned to him.
That boy now tall, with a deep and detached gaze, bearing a calm yet austere aura seemed different from anyone else.
The director, still seated, watched him in silence, spellbound.
His lips slowly curved into a smile, one of those that carried respect, curiosity, and perhaps even a vague unease.
He wasn’t just a professor.
Dav had become something that escaped ordinary classification.
[The Director, intrigued, speaking to Selene]
The director: Selene, congratulations again on your new rank.
I hope this will help you even more in becoming stronger.
[Selene, serious but pleased, looked him straight in the eye.
She saw gratitude in his gaze but also a hidden tension.]
Selene: (Happy, yet composed) Thank you, director.
This is a big step for me..
and I owe it to him.

[The director tilted his head slightly, intrigued.
His eyes seemed to peer into her, as if searching for something that hadn’t been said yet.]
The director: (Lowering his voice, more direct) Selene.. tell me the truth.
He went through the evaluation too, didn’t he?
(Tense) I heard a powerful energy invaded London.. right when you all arrived there.
Narrator: Suddenly, everything stopped.
No one spoke.
The professors at the table ceased laughing; even those still chewing froze.
All eyes turned to Selene. They were seeking the truth.
She felt her stomach tighten.
Her hands began to tremble almost imperceptibly.
A thousand thoughts tormented her: telling everything would it put Dav in danger? Would it betray his trust?
Her fists clenched on her knees, unable to breathe.
But then.. warmth. Two hands, one on her right and one on her left, rested on hers.
Iris and Valeria’s hands. Warm, steady, sure.
That simple gesture drove away the anxiety.
Selene looked up and found their smiles: calm, sincere, fearless.
She looked around. The others were smiling too.
There was no anger, no disgust about what happened in London.
That’s when she found the courage.
Selene: (Steady gaze, firm voice)
Dav was asked to undergo the evaluation.. after me.
And he.. accepted.
[For a moment, her gaze faltered.
The memory came back vividly: the feeling of being overwhelmed, crushed by a presence too great to understand.]
Selene: (Serious, clenching her fists)
His rank..
was compared by the doctors to that of a Divine Calamity.
But.. no one can say for sure how powerful he really is, because no machine yet exists that can measure something like that accurately.
Narrator: The silence was even deeper than before.
Some remained motionless, like statues.
Others stared blankly, trying to process what they heard.
And someone, in the back, shuddered.
It wasn’t just astonishment: it was the memory of that feeling of death that invisible pressure that invaded London which now took shape through Selene’s words.
The director: (Low tone, very serious) Selene..
You already know that Dav has currently lost much of his power.
It’s assumed he’s at 30%, right?
[Selene nodded slowly, but with uncertainty.
Her heart beat faster, sensing the director was about to say something important.]
Selene: (Slightly anxious)
Yes.. that means he’s much weaker than ten years ago, right?
I think.. everyone has realized it.
[The director crossed his hands, brought them slowly in front of his mouth, and leaned forward, staring at her intensely.]
The director: (Serious, deep voice)
That means..
how powerful was he really, ten years ago?
(continuing) How devastating was that “Divine Calamity”.. at full strength?
[Pause, everyone held their breath.]
The director: (In a dark tone) And if it were to return...
If a new calamity were to appear...
With only 3/10 of his current strength..
Would Dav still be able to stop it?
