The loot from the island is more than enough to make a nice big bed out of and that is perfect. I resume my normal form and lay down on it, but before going to sleep I pull the puppy over to me. I settle his nest down within the circle of my arms and then let myself fall asleep.

  The next thing I know, Lin is jumping up and down on my nose to wake me up. She apparently tried several other things before that, but none of them worked to wake me. It makes me worry that if she didn’t wake me I might have slept for a really long time.

  I think that I am going to have to be careful about sleeping on my bed of looted gold. The last thing I want is to sleep for a week or more and miss out on important things. Not to mention how upset with me my wives would be if I didn’t open a soulscape for that long.

  In fact, it turns out that Lin is already a little upset with me, it took a lot of effort to wake me. It also took quite a bit of time, enough that we don’t have time for any fun before breakfast. We need to eat quickly otherwise we are going to delay the caravan from leaving.

  Everyone, even the puppy, is already awake and waiting for me when I leave my room. I quickly take out dishes from the pouch for everyone else and then feed the puppy. In the end, in order to not delay the caravan leaving, I wait to eat my own breakfast in the carriage.

  Lin teases me a little, even calling me a sleepyhead, but it doesn’t bother me at all. While I am eating, Asuna and Victoria work on getting the puppy to move back and forth between them. He is doing his best, but he still isn’t very coordinated in his movements.

  However, it is good for him to practice moving, it will help him learn coordination. Besides, he looks to be having fun and he is getting a lot of pets from the two of them. Honestly, I am glad to see Victoria taking part, I was worried she would stay distant from everything.

  It is good to see her not acting like a Karen, I just hope it continues and becomes a permanent thing. I have a large family and everything runs smoothly for the most part, I don’t want her to ruin that. I would be much happier if she adapted to the group and found a way to fit in with the others.

  She seems to be getting along fairly well with Asuna so far and I hope that continues. What I really hope is that she will get along just as well with the rest of my kids. I can probably order her to change her attitude if it becomes necessary, but I hope I don’t need to.

  I will just have to wait and see how things go, she will be going to the peninsula with Lin. Thinking of that, I’m not entirely sure when Lin is going to be heading back. We haven’t discussed it yet, but I’m sure there is a schedule, so I just ask her.

  Lin says “Unfortunately, I only get a couple of days with you.”

  “How come? Shouldn’t it be equal time for each of you?”

  Lin says “It should be, but there isn’t enough time before you reach the Magic Kingdom. Besides, I need to take the Archmage’s trial. Which is what I will be doing once I return.”

  “What about Damona and Leafa? Are you going to summon them before or after the trial?”

  Lin says “Before, but you don’t need to worry. They will be spending most of their time with us rather than you. I will let you know once they are summoned so that you can start inviting them to the soulscape.”

  “So, does that mean they aren’t going to be sent to spend some time on the trip with me? Also, what’s the plan for the rest of the trip?”

  Lin says “They aren’t, no. As the newest arrivals, they don’t get equal time. When I leave, it will be Brightfire’s turn and she will stay with you for most of the trip. Then it will be Sero and Kreno who will be with you until the day before you reach the Magic Kingdom.”

  “They don’t get individual time? That doesn’t seem fair.”

  Lin says “They didn’t want it. They wanted to be with you together.”

  “Oh, well if that’s what they want then it is fine.”

  Lin says “That’s what they want. Although, I’m pretty sure that it was Kreno who convinced Sero. That is how it normally works with the two of them.”

  “Yeah, that’s true.”

  By the time we are done talking, I have finished eating my fill and Lin moves onto my lap. She pulls my arms around herself and then curls up like she is going to take a nap. She isn’t tired or anything, she just wants some attention, which I happily provide.

  “Hey, why the sudden interest in taking the archmage’s trial?”

  Lin smiles and says “Yui reminded me that there are more libraries on the higher floors. I need to pass the trial to unlock them!”

  “Oh. Yeah, that makes perfect sense.”

  Lin says “What are you trying to say?”

  “That you are the biggest book nerd in this world!”

  Lin says “Hey! I’m not the one who went around half the continent robbing libraries! That was all you!”

  “Yes, it was. However, you are the one who has read all of the books I stole!”

  Lin says “I have not! Not all of them. Not yet.”

  “Yet being the key word there. Ha ha! I had almost forgotten how much fun it can be to tease you! I know I don’t say it enough, but I do love you!”

  Lin says “I know. It is good to hear it once in a while! I guess it is only fair for you to tease me, we have teased you more than enough recently. Maybe a little too much if I am being honest.”

  “It has been a bit much, but I don’t mind it all that much. It is just a slightly annoying way for everyone to show their affection. It wouldn’t be a problem if I wasn’t so heavily outnumbered.”

  Lin says “That is your own fault! You are the one who’s irresistible! Although, I do miss the fluff at times.”

  Taking the hint I shapeshift into my earliest beastman form, the one where I was at my fuzziest. At the same time, I also shapeshift my clothes into just pants so my fuzzy chest is bare. As soon as I do, Lin starts rubbing her face against my chest while making happy sounds.

  Asuna notices what is going on and comes over, bringing the puppy with her, to rub against me. It seems that Lin isn’t the only one who has missed having me be furry. I notice Victoria looking unsure, so I motion that she can also come over and rub my fur.

  Victoria says “So soft and fluffy! Is this how you looked when you were first summoned to this world?”

  “Yeah, pretty much.”
