Once the wards are placed, I head over to where Lizzy is, they are going to get a real show now. I move to a clear area and return to normal form, I can hear the gasps and screams. I glance over just to enjoy the looks of shock on the faces of the tribe’s warriors.
I shift my clothes into a three person saddle and as soon as I do Myria climbs up. Leylisha follows right behind her and then Lizzy shifts to human form and follows. The fact that she didn’t argue or put up a fuss is a pleasant surprise, but she did say she enjoyed flying.
As soon as the three of them are settled, I take to the air and start flying south. I haven’t been flying long when I hear a strange squealing noise, but at first I can’t tell where it is coming from. I have to curl my head beneath me and take a look at my tail to finally find the source.
Koko has wrapped herself around my tail, just above the feathers at the tip of it. She is the one who was squealing and it looks like she is having a blast so I leave her alone. Riding the tail of basically a dragon in flight seems like a totally ninja thing to do.
So, I ignore her and keep flying towards where the bandit port is supposed to be. After flying for about an hour I spot light on the horizon and I land to let my passengers off. They already know the plan, so once they are off I take off again and head towards the light.
The light turns out to be a decent sized town that is built around the port, but I ignore it for now. I am more interested in the port itself and the twelve ships currently docked there. However, since I am curious as to how they have kept this hidden, I fly past to take a look.
There is a raised area between the harbor at the port and the ocean, a line of cliffs. A curving passage, shaped like an S, has been carved through it to allow ships to pass through. There is no possible way that anyone could find the port if they didn’t know what they were looking for.
Not only that, but there are siege engines lining the cliffs on either side of the passage. Any ship attempting to go through it would be sunk easily, they would be sitting ducks. In fact, it is far too perfect of a setup to be completely natural, it looks like it was made.
Either that, or someone found it and modified it to make it like this, it makes me curious. I think I could make something like this, but it would take me weeks if not months. I don’t see the average bandit doing something like that, which is why I am curious as to who did it.
The town, from what I saw as I flew over, is mostly shacks and poorly built buildings. As I circle above, I also notice that the harbor itself is almost perfectly circular. That can’t be natural, so someone took the time to make both the harbor and the passage to the ocean.

I wonder if one of the groups did all this and invited the others, or if they did it together. I also wonder why they did it, and why here of all places? I mean, the desert isn’t claimed by any of the kingdoms, so that part makes sense. The cliffs make this part of the coast unlandable, so it is a good hiding place.
I somehow doubt that I am going to get answers to all of my questions, so I turn back to what I am supposed to be doing. There are a couple of hundred people manning the siege weapons on the cliffs, so I decide to start there. Luckily, all of the weapons are aimed down, so they won’t be a threat to me.
It is not dark enough yet for me to be hidden, but all that comes my way as I approach are some arrows. I ignore them as I activate the new technique, take a deep breath, and unleash it on the nearest side of the channel. The siege weapons are untouched, the only thing affected by the flames is the people.
It feels rather odd to be breathing fire again, I have gotten used to breathing lightning. However, if this works the way that I hope it is going to, it will definitely be worth it. My breath also lasts longer than expected, allowing me to light all of the people on this side on fire.
Once they are all burning, I fly to the other side to repeat the process, but I get another surprise. I was expecting to have to wait to use my breath again, but I can feel that it is already available. So, I take a deep breath and then pour fire down on everyone on this side of the channel.
I notice that someone had the bright idea to hide underneath a siege engine, but they still catch on fire. I knew that my breath wouldn’t ignite the siege engine, but it is a pleasant surprise to see that it went through it. I was rather worried about that since people will no doubt choose to hide inside buildings.
It doesn’t take long for all of the people on this side of the channel to be lit on fire. However, what I am doing is obvious from a distance and I can hear bells ringing in the port. Since I want to make sure none of the boats manage to leave, I turn and fly down over the harbor.
I don’t hear any bells in the town itself, so I might still be able to catch a lot of them by surprise. Not that I am really worried about it, any that run away will meet Myria and the others. As long as none of the ships escape we should be able to keep anyone from escaping.
Absolutely no one is going to outrun Lizzy in the desert, not even I could do that. Their only chance at escape would be if there are too many of them for Lizzy to kill them all quickly. That isn’t going to happen if I can help it, it just means I need to set most of them on fire before they can run.
I swoop down over the harbor spraying fire over the ships and the docks on my first pass. I immediately loop back and attack with another breath covering all the buildings near the docks. Now alarm bells are ringing all over, but the screams are even louder than the alarms.
None of the buildings catch on fire, but I can hear screams from inside of them. Now the only thing that worries me is if my flames will reach underground or not. I guess I will find out when I check the basements if there are any, for now I just keep going.
There don’t seem to be any siege engines in the town, but I am getting attacked. It is mostly arrows or crossbow bolts and most of them miss me, but there are a few spells. Most of the spells that hit me don’t do anything, they can’t get through my resistances.
