I pull open the door and stick my head inside the carriage to look around, but there are no comfort enchants. Amn and Shiro are giving me odd looks, but I ignore them and drop back to take a look at the supply wagon. It is even worse, it is just a basic wagon with a bunch of chests of holding on it.

  Emperor Amn says “Ash, is there something wrong?”

  “No, I was just looking at the enchantments, or lack thereof. You are planning to stop for lunch, right?”

  Emperor Amn says “Yes, we are. Why?"

  “While we are stopped, do you mind if I re-enchant your carriage and the supply wagon?”

  Emperor Amn says “No! Of course I don’t mind! Please do!”

  Shiro says “What are you planning to do to them?”

  “I plan to improve their speed so that they aren’t slowing us down. I will also throw in some enchantments to make them a bit more comfortable. Just some minor things.”

  Shiro says “You do realize that we will just get slowed down again once we meet up with the first king. He will have a carriage of his own.”

  “Then I will just have to enchant his carriage, just not as well.”

  Emperor Amn says “I like the sound of that.”

  We continue chatting, but I take the time until we stop to plan out the enchantments. I do consider just running to the tower to get a carriage, but I decide that would get too much attention. If anyone in the Magic Kingdom checks out the enchantments of one of Yui’s carriages it would cause all sorts of fuss.

  I want to try and avoid having to deal with the Magic Kingdom as much as possible. The more I interact with them, the higher the chances of someone figuring out who I am. I am not scared of the Magic Kingdom, I doubt they can do anything to me, but I’d rather avoid the hassle.

  Not to mention that I don’t want to cause problems for Amn, he will be implicated since he is bringing me. I want to keep things as quiet as possible and just get the information I need. If it is the Maker causing the problem, then I will go and deal with her myself.

  I may not be strong enough to kill her yet, but I know how to steal her energy and weaken her. Besides, there are plenty of experiments that I want to try with her Origin energy. I have already checked, as far as I can tell I do not have any essence, but maybe I can fix that.

  If I can just figure out how to create a small amount of my own essence, then I could increase it using Origin energy. At least, that is one of my theories on how I might be able to fix myself, but there are others too. I think that with me getting stronger, I should be able to control the Origin energy much easier.

  If so, then that is going to open a whole lot more options for what I can do with it. My main problem last time was that I couldn’t really do much with the energy because I was too weak. However, that was quite a while ago and my strength, especially my soul strength, has increased quite a bit.

  In fact, even if the Maker isn’t the problem, I might just go steal some energy anyway. I plan to conduct some experiments and learn more about essence before I get to that point. I’m pretty sure that what I learn from those experiments will give me even more ideas.

  When we finally stop for lunch, I quickly empty out the chests from the wagon. Then, I have to wait for Amn and Shiro to get out of the carriage so that I can begin. I disenchant both of them and it turns out to be much simpler than I was expecting.

  I used to have to struggle to untangle a spell thread by thread and it was dangerous. Now, I can simply wrap my will around an enchantment and dissolve it with a thought. Things have changed a lot since I was summoned, this is just one example of those changes.

  With the old enchantments out of the way, I start putting in the new enchantments. I am not doing anything fancy, or using any of the tricks I have learned, it is just basic enchantments. Although, even though they are basic to me, they are better than what was used previously.

  The defensive enchantments that I put on are not only stronger than the old ones, they take up less space. Just that gives me more than enough room to add more enchantments to the carriage. Of course, I don’t bother putting defensive enchantments on the supply wagon.

  I add enchantments to keep the wheels from getting damaged and so that the entire thing self repairs. I add a simple enchantment to reduce the friction the wheels create, this is a simpler way to increase the speed. I also add an enchantment to reduce the weight of the wagons.

  That will allow for an increase in speed and also let the beasts pulling it last longer. Those are all that I put on the supply wagon, the carriage gets a few more enchantments for comfort. Still, even with that the carriage is nothing compared to the one I enchanted for Myria.

  Thinking of that carriage makes me think of Lizzy and makes me realize I almost broke a promise. I quickly get out my communication medallion and get in touch with Lizzy.

  “Lizzy, how’s it going?”

  Lizzy says “Fine. I’ve placed all the obelisks. Do you have more for me?”

  “Nope, I don’t. Actually, I am going on a trip across the main continent…”

  Lizzy screams “Summon Me!!!”

  “Alright, alright. Hold on.”

  ‘Summon Mount!’

  To my surprise, Lizzy appears before me in human form and wearing a white sundress. She quickly reverts to her normal form and the sundress changes into her saddle. The beasts go nuts when she returns to her normal form, but she quiets them with a single hiss.

  Of course, her sudden appearance panics Amn’s soldiers too, but they also calm down quickly. I introduce Lizzy to Amn and Shiro and then start pulling food out of my pouch for her. While she is eating I explain where we are going and why as well as what I think is going on.

  However, she doesn’t really care about the reasons, she just wants to travel and see new places. I try to warn her that people probably aren’t going to react well to her, but she doesn’t care. She is fairly used to that and is just happy to be doing something different.
