Zamart says “I can create a magical binding that would work similar to that, but this oath stone sounds much easier to use.”

  “I will talk to Krenocia first. If I can’t do it that way, I will have you teach me the spell you use and see if I can turn it into an enchantment.”

  Zamart says “Sure thing. I assume it will take a while to get an answer?”

  “Not at all. I will talk to her tonight and have my answer before morning.”

  Zamart says “I’m not sure if being able to talk that easily to a goddess would be a good thing or if it would be terrifying.”

  “It is a good thing, she isn’t that scary.”

  Mercy says “Only because she likes you! Both Krenocia and Seronia can be plenty terrifying to anyone else! I almost peed myself when I first met them!”

  “I barely remember what it was like when I first met them, but I don’t think I was terrified of them.”

  Mercy says “No, you were probably imagining them naked!”

  “Like I said, I don’t remember, but that is a definite possibility.”

  Zamart says “How are you still alive?”

  Mercy says “Like I said, they like him. I’m sure that the thought of killing him has crossed their minds a few times.”

  “Probably, but they need me too much to actually do it. Anyway, I will talk to them later and see what they think.”

  Mercy says “I want to join you when you meet them. Well, after you are done talking about things. If they are okay with me joining that is.”

  “Alright, I will ask once I am done trying to convince them.”

  Mercy says “The oath stone shouldn’t be a big deal. What are you going to try and convince them to do?”

  “I want them to let me out of a promise.”

  Mercy says “What promise?!”

  “The one that I wouldn’t conduct experiments without getting their permission first.”

  Mercy says “Yeah, that is going to take some convincing. Why do you want out of the promise now?”

  “Everburn taught me a lot of things and I am going to need to do a lot of experiments. I don’t want to have to wait and get permission for each one.”

  Mercy says “Wait, who is Everburn? Is that the dragon’s name?”

  “Not his actual name, but it is what we can call him. His real name isn’t pronounceable in our language.”

  “As long as no one bothers him, he will sleep far longer than we will be alive. You don’t need to worry at all.”

  Zamart says “Luckily, no one but us knows he is there. The miners just think there is a monster in that mine and they are terrified of it. So the chances of someone bothering him are next to nothing.”

  Alexa says “Do we really want to depend on a rumor to keep anyone from bothering a dragon that might destroy us all?”

  “Even if someone did disturb him, I doubt that he would destroy the kingdom. Especially now that it is part of my empire. He may get annoyed at me from time to time, but he likes me.”

  Mericel says “Isn’t that pretty much a description of everyone who knows you?”

  “What? Annoyed from time to time? Yeah, I guess so.”

  Everyone has a good laugh at that, but I don’t mind, it is all in good fun and I will get her back later. By this point we are done eating and Mericel quickly runs off with Kechara and Mulan. Mercy dismisses the others and then leads me to her bedroom to have some alone time.

  We have fun together for a couple of hours before she falls asleep and I open a soulscape. I set up a nice living room with comfy seating and snacks, but I also create an attached bedroom. I am hoping that we will need it, but that will depend on how mad they get at my request.

  I could be wrong and they could be cool about it, but I don’t think that I am that lucky. It is far more likely that me asking to be released from my promise is going to royally piss them off. There is no avoiding it, so there is no point worrying about it, so I invite the two of them.

  Krenocia appears first and greets me with a passionate kiss, but Seronia appears during the kiss. As soon as Krenocia breaks the kiss, Seronia pulls her away from me and takes her place. They don’t even give me a chance to get a word in, not that I am complaining about it.

  Krenocia says “So, is this a visit for fun? Or did you need something?”

  “I am hoping for both, but that will depend on how pissed off you get.”

  Seronia says “That sounds ominous! Just what are you needing?”

  “A number of things. We will start with the easy stuff. First, Krenocia, do you abilities extend to oaths? I want to make oath stones, stones that will enforce any oaths spoken while holding them.”

  Krenocia says “Well, broken oaths are something that I judge people for, so technically what you want should be possible.”

  Seronia says “Actually, this may be a good direction to develop your powers. If you are in charge of oaths, you might get more followers.”

  “Are followers still a problem? I thought that adding the beastmen took care of that?”

  Seronia says “It’s not the number of followers, it’s the balance between us. A lot more of our followers choose me. My sister isn’t as popular because people are scared of her. If we can fix that it would make things much easier.”

  Krenocia says “I don’t really want to fix it. I like being the one people use to scare others into behaving. I am fine with you being stronger than I am.”

  Seronia says “Well, I am not. I want us to be equals in everything.”

  The two of them argue back and forth for a while, but it sounds like this isn’t the first time. In fact, it sounds like an old argument that they have had many times before. For once, I do the smart thing and stay out of it, I just sit back and wait for them to finish.

  Krenocia says “Sorry about that, as you might have guessed, this is an old argument between us.”

  “No problem.”

  Seronia says “Anyway, what was the next thing you wanted?”

  “While I was talking with Everburn, the dragon, he told me about spirit and how mine isn’t working. So, I wanted to ask what you know about spirit.”

  Seronia says “Sure, I can tell you what I know.”

  “Krenocia, I also need you to tell me everything you know about how you summoned me and created this body. The more I know, the better my chances of getting my spirit fixed.”

  Krenocia says “Sure, no problem.”

  The three of us sit together on a couch and cuddle as they tell me what I want to know. Seronia, as the life goddess, obviously knows a lot about spirit, but it is mostly just general knowledge. However, it is more than I knew before this, so it will help with what I am planning.
