It is late at night by the time I finish all my crafting and turn my attention to Myria. I reward her for her patience with several rounds of fun until she falls asleep in my arms. It has been a few days, so I let myself fall asleep with her and sleep until morning.

  By the time we exit the carriage in the morning the soldiers are already packed up and ready to go. We have breakfast and then I open a gate to the trade city for Myria and the soldiers. Once they go through, I close the gate, turn my attention to Lizzy, and give her the new items.

  I explain to her how they work and all the functions of the system that she has access to. Then, I explain to her about the obelisks and how she can use the map to see where they need to be placed. I updated the map with the information that Myria gave me, but there is still a lot to explore.

  “From here I will be heading south until I hit the coast. I will use the last of the obelisks that I have on the way. I will leave the rest of the areas to you. When you get low on obelisks send me a message and I will get you more.”

  Lizzy says “Okay, but are you sure it is okay to just leave them in the open? What if the demons destroy them? Or use them to mess with the system?”

  “Hm, I didn’t think of that. Go ahead and place them, I will think of a way to keep them safe later.”

  Lizzy says “How are you going to do that after I have already placed them??”

  “I should be able to add an enchantment to the network that will affect all of the obelisks. That way I won’t have to run around trying to modify all of them.”

  Lizzy says “That’s no fun! I wanted to watch you run around in a panic!”

  “Yeah, that’s not happening. I have learned to stop and think about things before I act. Well, most of the time.”

  Lizzy says “Aww! That’s boring!”

  “Maybe, but it is the smarter way of doing things.”

  Lizzy says “You have certainly changed.”

  “I haven’t had much choice.”

  Lizzy says “You always have a choice. They just aren’t always good choices.”

  “I guess that’s true. Anyway, speaking of choices, if you had the choice would you like to be freed or have the bond transferred to someone else?”

  Lizzy says “Can you even do that?!”

  “Well, I was able to free Bones, so it should be possible to free you as well.”

  Lizzy says “I don’t know. I haven’t really thought about it.”

  “That’s fine. Think about it when you want and let me know what you decide. Just be aware it might take me a while to figure out the method and it might involve some pain.”

  Lizzy says “I will keep that in mind. Anything else?”

  “Nope, not that I can think of.”

  Lizzy says “In that case, I am going to start exploring.”

  “Alright, have fun.”

  Lizzy says “Now that I don’t have to babysit anyone or have anyone slowing me down, I will!”

  Lizzy comes over and rubs against me a bit and then takes off in a flash that even I can barely follow. I don’t think that I could keep up with her, at least not without flying. Having to go the speed of the soldiers on foot must have been driving her insane.

  With her speed, it shouldn’t take too long for our side of the land bridge to be explored. Once it is mapped out, I will be able to decide where I want to place our defensive line. Thinking of that, I wonder if Mason went home, if he did that is going to be a problem.

  “Sarah, did Mason go home or did he stay here?”

  Sarah says “Originally, he was going to stay, but he saw something in his world that made him change his mind.”

  “Um, has he already left?”

  Sarah says “Yes. Lin sent everyone who wanted to leave. Why? What did you need?”

  “I wanted him to design some defenses and fortresses for us to build on the land bridge. I don’t suppose he trained anyone while he was here?”

  Sarah says “I’m not sure. I know he left designs to allow us to finish the city. I will check and see if he trained anyone.”

  “Okay. If not, see if you can find an architect for me. Preferably one who specializes in defenses.”

  Sarah says “I will see what I can do.”

  “Thanks.”

  After talking with Sarah, I start heading south and placing down obelisks as I go. I find that I am getting excited, I am finally going to get to do the hunting I need for my evolution. As soon as my evolution is done, I will be able to go talk to the dragon and learn the dragon language.

  That is going to be a major game changer, at least I think it is going to change how I use magic. If it changes how I do enchantments, then I am going to have a lot of re-enchanting to do. Just because of that, I am kind of hoping that it doesn’t affect my enchanting.

  I really don’t want to have to go back and re-do the enchantments on the castle. Not to mention all the work I just did recently on the elven city and the palace. The more I think about it, the more horrible it seems and it makes me want to get distracted.

  However, since it will get me closer to being a dragon, I am going to go through with it. Besides, I really want to see what the battlefield in the hallway is like, so I can’t back out. Although, I am probably going to have to put off visiting the dragon until after the wedding.

  Somehow I doubt that learning the dragon language is going to be something quick or easy. I know the girls well enough to know that there doesn’t exist an excuse that would be accepted for missing the wedding. I kind of doubt I would even be given the chance to explain, they would just kill me on sight.

  Well, they probably wouldn’t really kill me, but it is a chance that I don’t plan to take. I will visit the dragon after the wedding and honeymoon, assuming nothing else comes up. I would also like to get my final level up and gain the ability to summon an angel before the wedding.

  Getting my next evolution and leveling up are my two main goals for this hunting trip. While I am at it, I would like to find a nice tropical island to use for my honeymoon. A nice small island with white sand beaches and maybe a lagoon to swim in.

  The most important part is the island cannot have any ancient beings sleeping in or under it. I have had more than enough of that and I don’t want anything to ruin the honeymoon. I would also prefer it if there is nothing hostile on the island, I just want to be able to relax.
