Chapter 127: Training Time!

  Tama

The man reached me and said “What do you think you're doing! How did you even get over the walls? Are you an air mage? You are coming with me!” The man reached out and tried to grab me.

I dodged and blinked back a few feet. “Tama has to get to the castle. Saki said so. Tama can’t go with you!”

The man looked shocked and grabbed an item from his bag. He blew into the thing, it looked like a goblin war horn but smaller.

Suddenly, I heard more footsteps and people shouting as more of those guards came from below. Some held bows and some wore robes.

“This is your last warning! Come peacefully or we will have to use force!” The man said, his hand tightening on his sword.

I grinned and asked “You want to train with Tama! That’s what the people said too when they wanted to train. Things like telling Tama they would lock her up, and she was going away for a long time! They even said things like they were itching to fight. Tama never understood all of it, but in the end they all just trained with Tama!”

The guard simply charged at me instead of answering. A man of action! I blinked behind him and jabbed my dagger into the back of his knee. He fell to one knee and swung his sword behind himself to hit me. I had already blinked away as an arrow dinged his helmet instead of hitting where I just was.

A ball of fire flew at me and I simply ducked under it and blinked up to the girl who had shot it at me. I kicked her knee causing it to snap and disappeared as she fell to the ground screaming in pain. Tama knew that feeling, Training had to be harsh to learn!

I turned and caught the first arrow coming at me, used it to knock the second and third arrows out of the air and pushed a water ball into the crossbow bolt, causing it to slow and then fall. I dropped the first arrow and blinked to the nearest archer. He was smart and grabbed his dagger, but he was slow. I picked him up and punched him in the stomach. He took a few steps back and coughed up blood. I grabbed another arrow and let the third one bounce off my aqua barrier.

I grabbed the last archer who reached for her dagger, I snapped her wrist and pushed her over the edge of the wall.

Turning back to the original guard who had managed to climb to his feet. He limped weakly towards me as he spoke. “You.. won’t..” He stopped and winced in pain before continuing “Get.. away with this. Her Majesty will be here in a few days. She is strong and will stop you!”

“Why would Tama want to stop training? Training is important!” I said defensively.

Anna suddenly shimmered before jumping off of me, leaving me naked and turning into her little girl form. She was laughing hard. She seemed to think training was funny?

“Please, everyone calm down!” She said between peels of laughter. “There is a great misunderstanding, and as much as I would love to watch this longer, we need to clean this up before Saki gets here.”

The sound of sobbing from multiple guard people showed how weak they were. I was very confused why they wanted training. Anna ignored my looking around and walked over to the guard captain. She brought her hand up. The guard actually cut her hand off! Anna just rolled her eyes and giggled. The hand flowed back into her and regrew. The guard paled and Anna shot a bolt of water at him. Instead of hurting him, the water covered him and began to heal him.

She casually walked over to the archer whose knee I broke and healed her too. “Honestly, you only have yourself to blame for this.” Anna said in a casual tone. “You didn't even bother asking who we were. What kind of guard does that? You will be lucky if you keep your job after this.Attacking a princess and all.”

I heard as the archer’s knee snapped painfully back into place. Instantly she pulled her dagger and stabbed Anna. Anna simply let it stab her directly in the skull. The woman stabbed a dozen more times before finally stumbling back. “You done?” Anna asked as the holes in her head simply reformed.

The women puked all over the ground and tripped over the wall edge, falling off the wall.

Anna shook her head and turned to the crossbolt man. He tried to run, but Anna simply turned into her water form and glided past him before flowing into him and possessing him. She casually walked his body back over, sat him down and left him again. “Now now, don’t go anywhere or Tama might think you want to play tag!”

  Saki

I watched Tama vanish into a flash of light and screamed. I jumped onto the portal and tried to activate it again. Lyran tried to say something but I ignored him. I pushed energy, mana, I cut my hand and pushed blood onto it. I tried to channel anything I had to make it reactivate. It stood cold and lifeless and after a moment, my eyes turned to Lyran. He stepped back and his face paled. “Now Saki, listen, she is probably fine she..”

“PROBABLY FINE!” I screamed at him. “Tama is a walking disaster in Nekojin form Lyran! The only time Tama is fine is if there is nothing around for her to destroy left! We have to reach her. I have to reach her!”” I stepped forward and all nine tails came out.

I lifted him with them and threw him against the wall holding him there. “You will make this work NOW!” I screamed. Tears streamed down my cheeks. I had to figure something out quickly. I had to reach her before something bad happened.

Lyran looked at me in fear. I didn’t care as I rushed past him, my tails returned to normal. I slammed the door to the building open and rushed down the street back to the guild. I barely managed to reach it when the door opened and Talia stepped out, holding a box of something.

I rushed up to her and quickly spoke. “Tama just activated the portal and now I don’t know where she is!” My tail lashed back and forth viciously and my ears flattened.

Talia dropped the box and asked in quiet horror. “What do you mean you don’t know where she is?!” Talia quickly pulled out a small item from her ring. It looked like a whistle. She blew into it, but I didn’t hear anything. After a moment I suddenly heard screams. Confused, I turned towards the screams only to barely dodge as Jiggle rushed full force into Talia. He had taken a straight path through the buildings... Quite literally.

“What why?” I started to say but Talia cut me off.

“Jiggle, your mistress, go to her!” Talia ordered. Even as she did, the whistle in her hand evaporated. Jiggle turned, and dashed directly north… towards Trissaile. I turned to ask the Matriarch. But she was gone. I turned back around just in time to see her disappear over the nearest building following Jiggle.

I quickly rushed down the road, Jiggle was going north right? That meant Tama had to have gone to Trissiale. I made my way to the main thoroughfare and to the food stall. Lyran mentioned finding people based on things they were deeply connected to. Fries were perfect for Tama. I grabbed them and rushed back, turning into my five foot kitsune form to run faster. I shifted back quickly as I entered the room.

Lyran flinched when I stormed into the room and handed him the fries. He looked puzzled and went to eat one. I smacked his hand. “No! Use them to find Tama!” I snapped angrily. How could he think of food at a time like this?!

“Um.. Saki..” Lyran tried to say but I glared at him “Fix, make work, NOW!” I felt my vision turning red. This was all my fault, I knew better than to let Tama wander off near a portal! What was wrong with me!

“SAKI” Lyran suddenly screamed and I turned to him in shock. He stepped forward and grabbed my arms. “Listen Saki, I understand you are worried about Tama. But you of all people know she can take care of herself. All you are doing is delaying. Look at you! We don’t need these fries. The closest thing to Tama is standing right in front of me. Step on the portal and I will calibrate you.”

I stared at him in surprise for a long moment. Slowly, I turned and walked onto the portal stage. I looked over at him and he rushed over to the tablet. He began tapping furiously until he smiled. “Good news! I found her! She is approximately..”

“I don’t care, send me now!” I snapped.

He looked like he wanted to complain, but after a moment he nodded and said “I’ll join you soon I swear it.” Then he pushed a red button on the table and the circle began to glow.

I felt the shadows and purple haze that had started to cloud me fade and felt fear. I had been so caught up in my panic I hadn’t even noticed it starting to take me over. I shivered even as the light grew bright.

Lyran rushed over and handed me the fries. “To help you get Tama to stay.” He said with a smile. He stepped back just as the light became too bright and suddenly my surroundings changed.
