The environment was more or less what Miri had expected from the world of Alius, the world where the “Runehunter Chronicles” took place in. What she saw around her was a typical forest wilderness but with a slight twist as a way to make things more interesting. All the grass and leaves were of varying shades of blue and purple instead of the usual green. The sky, instead of blue, was of a mellow mixture of orange and green. The sun was of a stark pink color with three moons accompanying next to it in the sky.
Overall, it had a very alien feel to the design, which was probably what the developers were going for to make it stand out from the other stereotypical fantasy settings.
Miri continued traveling up north. If she’s not mistaken, that's probably where Hemera, the closest settlement from the game’s starting point, was going to be. Once she arrived at that settlement, she’d be able to establish a base of operations for herself—one where she’ll be able to return whenever she needs rest for all the adventuring.
As a side bonus, she could also do some interior decorating within her base. For a roleplaying game to truly be good, it should provide the player with the option to customize their base as much as they want, down to the tiniest details. Miri had once spent hours just organizing her virtual house in Skyrim, treating it with more care and attentiveness than her actual living space in real life.
As she continued traveling for about an hour or so on foot, passing through a forest of trees with indigo leaves and twisted, grey branches, she continuously maintained a high sense of alertness. Even though the path was quiet so far, there could be an enemy hiding over the treetops or underneath the bushes, readying to ambush her at any moment.

And just like her instincts had predicted, an arrow came soaring towards her seemingly out of nowhere. Miri tried her best to dodge it, but she wasn’t quick enough, causing the arrow to barely glance at her shoulder and leaving her with a shallow cut. Turning her head, she was able to see what she’s up against.
Three goblins, creatures of diminutive stature with purple skin instead of the typical green. Each of them were wielding a different weapon: one with a short sword, one with a bow and arrow, and one with a staff decorated with a skull of some sort of small animal. Miri focused her sight to try to see if she could scan their stats.

Miri scoffed, thinking that these guys were barely a challenge when she played the game. However, this wasn’t just a game; this was real life. If she let her guard down, she could end up dying for real. This thought sent a slight chill down her spine, causing her to re-evaluate the situation with a more serious perspective.
“Sup, guys? Heading to a party or something?” Miri quipped. “Sorry, but I’m here to kick ass, eat Doritos, and drink Mountain Dew. And I’m all out of Doritos and Mountain Dew.”
Sure, she may be in a seriously dangerous situation, but that did not prevent her from cracking some wise. No amount of severity in a situation was immune to a good wisecrack.
