"Fuck me."
Running at me, at full speed was a creature ripped straight from nightmares. Imagine a gorilla, combined with a praying mantis, combined with a spider. It has the legs and arms of a praying mantis, the body and face of a spider, and two gorilla arms beneath its praying mantis claws.
Above its head appears some red text, [Chimera: Misc Variant]. "Well aren't you helpful..." I yell out as I begin to run the opposite direction of the Chimera. It begins screeching and banging its chest as it chases after me. [Automati-] "I DON'T CARE"
My eyes dart around the campus halls. Come on. Think. This campus has to have somewhere I can escape too.
BANG, DING, FWUMP.
I look back, for the source of those noises, realizing the beast's footsteps stopped.
...
.....
What I saw was none other than this ugly mother fucker, ripping out a pipe from the wall with its big nasty gorilla arms. It prepares a Spartan throw with the freshly ripped pipe, which begins to deconstruct, and reconstruct as a sharp metal spear, as water pours out onto the floor.
[Dodge]. Yeah no shit.
I jump out of the way and into an emergency exit door. The pipe spear grazes my left heel, making me wince in pain. I painfully exclaim, "Since when can it throw things?" [Quest Difficulty: Unique]. "Are you able to deliver any good news?." [...] "I should not have asked," I sighed.
I painfully and quickly limp down the steps, my heel bleeding all over my shoe. The sound of skittering and booming footsteps begins to follow down the hall again.
"Shit. This isn't fair. Can't I get a bandage or something?"

"Mental plane? Wait..." I think back and force my mind to recall the screen that popped up.
[Active Quest: Survive. Time Remaining: 19 minutes and 21 seconds. Rewards: Class Advancement, Starter Kit, and Teleportation Back to "Professor Zalkost's Class: Real World". Bonus Rewards Available if: ______ Chimera]
"That weird menu mentioned the real world! That means this is in fact a different space! But that last part looks new unfinished and new..." My thoughts are cut off from a loud bang above me followed by another screech. The monster has entered the stair well. I hurriedly bolt down the emergency exit stairs, bleeding all the way down.
[Hidden Condition Met: Exit the building. Removing Status: Marked]
"Finally! Some good news." I quickly take in the campus grounds. The cliff overlooking the ocean (I said I had a silver spoon, so my parents sent me to a pretty gorgeous university), the nearby garden, and the park I would always eat lunch with Ian at.
Memories of my times there with Ian flood my mind, making me trail off, "Poor Ian, I wonder if he got dragged into something like this hell hole." I shake myself out of my thoughts and bolt into a nearby bush. A couple seconds pass and the monster breaks through the doors with a loud "CRASH" as its momentum carries it through making it hard for it to stop.
I stay as quiet as a mouse as the creature looks around, trying to locate me, carefully and tantalizingly observing every part of the grounds. It slowly turns its disgusting spidery eyes towards my hiding spot, and slowly walks near... I close my eyes and cover my mouth, praying to whatever evil God brought me here so it could spare me.
It feels like agonizing moments as I hear its steps getting closer and closer to me. I don't move a muscle, let alone breathe as it nears. TICK, TICK, TICK goes its long and disgusting legs as it tries to move somewhat quietly.
Finally, it gives up, and begins moving away to another direction. I open my eyes, praying it isn't tricking me, and I watch as it seems to be distracted and pittering towards a different direction.
I tear some of my shirt off, to make a makeshift bandage for my heel, and I wrap it around tight.
[Makeshift bandage applied. Stopping status effect: Bleeding for: 30 minutes. Error. Quest ends in 11 minutes and 49 seconds. System Override: Healing all active wounds]
After that blaringly long message, my heel miracously recovers, and I relax in my bush. I mentally think, "Only 10 more minutes of this hell hole, then I get to go home and forget about this. At least I hope... Who knows why I was brought here... If only I could get out of here sooner."
