Chapter 10 – Strange Two People

Su Yuan opened the door, and as expected, Zhou Yulong was standing outside. He looked very haggard, his eyes bloodshot, as if he hadn't slept all night.

Without saying a word, he nodded to the group and continued to knock on the door of dorm room 503.

The group stepped out of their room but didn't see the terrifying scene they had imagined.

The tiled floor was spotless, not a drop of blood in sight, just like when they returned st night.

A few students from dorm room 501 were scattered in the hallway.

Seeing Su Yuan and the others come out, a student named Wu Wentao pointed at the ceiling in horror and said, "Look up there!"

Everyone followed his finger and felt a chill run down their spines.

On the ceiling was a basketball-sized indentation, with spiderweb-like cracks radiating from its center.

Su Yuan immediately thought of the dull "thud" from st night.

A scene involuntarily fshed in his mind.

In the pitch-bck hallway, a grotesque ghost tore off Mao Houwang's head and hurled it at the ceiling.

No, wait... If it was a ghost, it would have great strength, and it might have just tossed it up like a ball.

"Brother, your cssmate's head is really big, and it looks like it hit the wall face-first," his younger sister said, squatting in the corner, her hands supporting her chin, blinking up at the ceiling.

  Really?

Su Yuan took another serious look.

Indeed, if you looked closely, the outline of a human face could be vaguely seen in the wall's indentation.

Was the center part supposed to be the nose?

But to make such a rge dent in the wall, the head should have exploded with a "bang," spttering brain matter and blood everywhere... How could there be no trace at all?

Su Yuan's heart pounded, and he had a bad feeling.

At this moment, the door to dorm room 503 finally opened, but no one came out.

Zhou Chang cautiously poked his head out, looked around, and only when he saw the crowd in the hallway did he breathe a sigh of relief and limp over to them.

His hair was a mess, like a bird's nest, and his wide eyes were bloodshot, as if he hadn't slept all night.

Behind him, supported by a few people, was Li Ge, whose legs were trembling uncontrolbly, muttering, "There are ghosts... We're all going to die... We're all going to die."

Students from dorm rooms 4 and 5 quickly came out and surrounded the group from room 3, bombarding them with questions about what happened st night.

"Li Ge, stop muttering. What exactly happened st night? Didn't we all agree not to go out? Why did someone leave?"

"Yeah, hurry up and tell us, I'm dying of anxiety."

"Speak up, Zhou the Cripple, what happened? Shaking won't help, just tell us!" An impatient student rushed forward, grabbing Zhou Chang's shoulders and shaking him.

"Calm down," Zhou Yulong stepped forward and pulled him away. "How can he speak if you're like this? Everyone, calm down and let them expin slowly."

Having someone retively calm to take charge had a noticeable effect. Although the students were still anxious, they quieted down considerably.

Zhou Chang gave Zhou Yulong a grateful look and, after calming down for a while, began to recount what happened st night.

His account was rgely the same as Li Ge's.

When he mentioned Mao Houwang walking out of the dorm like he was possessed, a few students couldn't help but excim, "Holy crap."

When he described Mao Houwang turning back with a creepy smile, a few timid students were so scared their legs gave out, and they colpsed to the floor.

"Oh my god, this is like something out of a horror movie. How could it happen in real life?"

"There really are ghosts in the world. I feel like all these years of studying were for nothing."

"We should call the police and let them handle it," Qi Yinhong urged the group.

"Will calling the police help? Can they catch ghosts?"

"Whether it helps or not, let's just do it," Qi Yinhong remembered Su Yuan's words from st night. "Let the adults handle this. We're just a bunch of nobodies; there's nothing we can do."

"Right, right," Li Ge suddenly regained some spirit, got up from the floor, and said, "Let's go tell Mr. Zhang. I don't want to stay here another second."

This immediately garnered agreement from the students.

"Yeah, let's go. I don't want to stay here either."

"I feel a chill as soon as I step out."

The crowd moved en masse towards the stairs.

Just as they were about to leave the dorm building, Su Yuan stopped.

"Old Su?" Ye Haoyu stood at the entrance, opening an umbrel, and turned to look at Su Yuan. "Let's go, why are you standing there?"

Su Yuan didn't reply, his gaze fixed on the dorm supervisor's room.

Ye Haoyu walked over to him and followed his gaze, also freezing.

Inside the dorm supervisor's room sat two unfamiliar men they had never seen before.

One looked to be in his early twenties, with flowing shoulder-length hair and a cigarette dangling from his mouth, looking carefree.

The other seemed to be middle-aged, slightly overweight, with thinning hair.

  A rather strange pair.

The two men were also watching them.

Their eyes met, and before Ye Haoyu could speak, Su Yuan walked over.

"Hello," Su Yuan greeted with a polite smile. "May I ask where the dorm auntie went?"

The middle-aged man's expression seemed a bit surprised. After a brief pause, he said, "The auntie had some family matters to attend to and took leave. Do you need something from her?"

"Well," Su Yuan expined, "st week, the auntie confiscated my phone during a room check. She said she'd return it in a few days..."

The two men exchanged a gnce, and just as the long-haired young man was about to speak, the middle-aged man stopped him.

  "What model phone?"

  "Huawei Mate60 Pro."

Hearing this, Ye Haoyu's eyelid twitched slightly, but he said nothing.

"Huawei..." The middle-aged man opened a drawer on the table and began rummaging through it.

The drawer contained various phones, all confiscated from students.

The middle-aged man frowned as he searched, seemingly unfamiliar with the brands and models.

The long-haired young man, growing impatient, quickly snatched a phone from the drawer. "Is this it?"

After getting the phone, he didn't immediately return it to Su Yuan but pyed with it, occasionally clicking his tongue. "Students these days are really loaded, using such good phones..."

It wasn't until the middle-aged man gave a heavy cough that he reluctantly handed the phone to Su Yuan.

"Thank you," Su Yuan said, taking the phone and turning to leave.

Ye Haoyu gnced at the two men again before following Su Yuan.

Watching the two leave the dorm, the long-haired young man grumbled, "Old Donkey, you just gave it to them? That phone's worth quite a bit."

"Can you stop focusing on these petty gains?" The middle-aged man, referred to as "Old Donkey," said sternly, "It's just the beginning, don't cause trouble!"

"The older you get, the more timid you become," the long-haired young man scoffed. "They're just a few students; what trouble could they cause?"
