As the white fog gradually dispersed, two people could be seen lying on the ground by the pond's shore. The bald, muscular man in uniform had blood flowing from his forehead, his body constantly twitching. Although he was still breathing, his eyes were hollow and lifeless—he seemed close to death.
The other person, a young man dressed in black with a mask on his face, slowly stood up from the ground. He wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth, picked up the gun that had fallen on the ground, and fired a few more shots at the bald, muscular man's head. The bald man's body violently convulsed a few times before finally lying motionless on the ground, no longer breathing.
"Feihu General, you didn't expect to meet this end, did you? Your mistake was helping Prince Su Wen and opposing me." Rulu glanced at the now-deceased Feihu General, then shifted his gaze away. He noticed a large number of soldiers and humanoid armored troops surging towards him in the distance.
"It's time to leave, or I won't be able to escape." Rulu used the wind to dart into the forest within the governor's mansion. Using the forest as cover, he fled rapidly towards the outskirts of the governor's mansion. Soon, he reached the iron railings at the perimeter, used the wind to jump over them, and arrived on the city streets outside.
"Quick, someone come! The assassin has escaped!" Suddenly, a humanoid armored troop and about a dozen ordinary soldiers appeared near Rulu. These soldiers discovered Rulu, immediately rushed towards him, raised their guns, and opened fire.
Feeling that he couldn't engage these soldiers in combat, Rulu avoided them, using the wind to quickly escape to other parts of the city.
However, he had fled for less than a minute when he encountered another squad of soldiers. As soon as these soldiers saw Rulu, they immediately opened fire, forcing him to flee in another direction.
After that, no matter where Rulu tried to escape, he would encounter soldiers and humanoid armored troops blocking his path. Rulu felt surrounded on all sides, as if the entire Blue Sea City military had been mobilized. A large number of soldiers filled the entire area surrounding the governor's mansion, completely encircling it.
"Damn, why are there so many people? How am I going to escape?!" Rulu ran frantically through the city's streets and alleys, trying to break through the encirclement. But there were simply too many soldiers, continuously converging on Rulu's position and firing at him. With a "swoosh," a bullet flew past Rulu's waist, wounding him. Blood seeped from Rulu's waist, staining his clothes red.

Rulu let out a groan. Clutching his left side and enduring the sharp pain, he escaped to a small alley filled with various items, covering himself with a large bamboo basket to hide.
Rulu tore open his clothes around the waist and used his magic Psionic power to freeze the wound to stop the bleeding. The bullet had passed through near his waist without lodging in his body and hadn't hit any vital organs. Once the bleeding stopped, Rulu felt much better, and the wound wasn't as painful as before.
Suddenly, Rulu heard nearby soldiers shouting:
"Where's the assassin? Where did he go?"
"Not on my side. I just saw him running that way."
"The assassin must be nearby, probably hiding. Surround this area, search thoroughly for the assassin. Don't miss any spot. We must find him."
The soldiers began searching the area around Rulu. It wasn't long before about twenty soldiers and two humanoid armored troops came to the small alley where Rulu was hiding. The two humanoid armored troops blocked the alley's entrance and exit, while the soldiers entered the alley and started rummaging through the miscellaneous items.
"What should I do? At this rate, I'll be discovered." Rulu, hidden under the bamboo basket, felt extremely anxious. He was injured, and with humanoid armored troops present, he couldn't win in a fight. Using Spiritual-power to control the soldiers wasn't an option either, as his Spiritual-power had reached its limit and might fail. Besides, Spiritual-power could only control one person at a time, and with so many soldiers present, even successfully controlling one might not make much difference.
"This is really the end. It seems I can't escape today." Rulu felt desperate after failing to come up with a plan. The searching soldiers were getting closer and closer, about to reach Rulu's position.
"Boom!" A loud explosion sounded in the distance, with flames shooting skyward, as if something had exploded violently.
"What's going on? Why is there an explosion over there?"
"The assassin must have appeared. Let's go check it out."
"Hurry up! If we're late and the assassin escapes, it will be terrible."
The soldiers searching the alley heard the explosion and immediately stopped their search. They left the alley and rushed towards the place where the explosion had occurred.
"Although I don't know why there was an explosion over there, at least I've escaped this predicament." Rulu, hidden under the bamboo basket, let out a long sigh of relief, feeling as if he had escaped death. He pushed away the basket covering him and quickly looked around, wanting to use this opportunity—while the soldiers were distracted by the explosion—to escape.
Hurried footsteps sounded as someone quickly entered the small alley where Rulu was, approaching him from the front. Thinking it was a soldier, Rulu immediately raised his gun and aimed at the person.
"Come with me, this way!" A familiar voice came from that person, reaching Rulu's ears.
"C.C., is that you?!" Rulu was startled. He lowered his gun and quickly went to the person's side. The newcomer was a woman with long green hair—none other than C.C.
