“Wait, this is my room.” Rulu suddenly remembered something, stopped in his tracks, turned around, and said to C.C. on the bed, “C.C., get up. This is my room. If you want to sleep, go somewhere else.”
“Why are you being so stingy? I’m already exhausted and don’t want to move. You go sleep in another room,” C.C. replied, pulling the blanket over herself. It seemed she was determined to take over Rulu’s bed.
“Don’t push your luck. Do you really think I won’t do anything to you?!” Rulu said fiercely to C.C.
“Goodnight, Rulu. If I don’t sleep well, I won’t be able to perform spiritual-power restoration for you. It’ll be your loss in the end,” C.C. said, snuggling into the blanket, only half her face visible, looking at Rulu with a sly gaze.
“Ugh… fine, you win!” Rulu was left speechless. He glared at C.C. angrily before leaving the room and closing the door.
Since the other rooms weren’t ready, Rulu grabbed a blanket and slept directly on the sofa in the living room. After a long night, Rulu was exhausted and soon fell into a deep sleep.
The next morning, Rulu woke up to see a somewhat unfamiliar woman’s face. She was sitting beside him, holding his face with both hands, gazing at him with a strange look.
“Ah!” Rulu was startled. He let out a shout and jumped up from the sofa, colliding with the woman sitting there. With a thud, both of them tumbled off the sofa and fell to the floor.
“What’s wrong, Rulu? What happened?” A panicked woman’s voice came from nearby. Nana hurried out of her room and into the living room.
She saw a young man and woman tangled together on the floor next to the sofa. The man was Rulu, whom Nana recognized, but the green-haired woman wearing Rulu’s pajamas was unfamiliar.
“Who… who are you? What are you doing?!” Nana exclaimed, her eyes wide with alarm as she looked at the green-haired woman.
“Nana, you’re here…” Rulu glanced at Nana. Realizing what had happened, he quickly pushed the green-haired woman away and stood up.
“Nana, let me explain. It’s like this…” Rulu looked at Nana nervously, trying to explain, but for some reason, he couldn’t find the words. He stood there awkwardly.

“Who is this woman? Is she your servant?” C.C. also stood up, placing her hands on Rulu’s shoulders and standing beside him, looking at Nana with a curious expression.
“And who are you? What’s your relationship with Rulu?” Nana frowned slightly, her eyes showing hostility. Her tone was unfriendly, clearly seeing C.C. as a rival.
“What’s our relationship? Let me think,” C.C. placed her right index finger on her chin, tilting her head thoughtfully. “How should I put it? I guess it’s the kind of relationship where we’re bound for life?”
“What?!” Nana was shocked. “So… so you’re Rulu’s girlfriend?”
“Well… I’m not entirely sure. Why don’t you ask him directly?” C.C. acted as if it wasn’t her concern, shifting the trouble to Rulu.
“Is it true? Is she really your girlfriend?” Nana turned to Rulu, her eyes fixed on him with a pressing gaze that made Rulu feel immense pressure.
Rulu didn’t know how to answer Nana, so he scratched his head and said vaguely, “Well… she’s a very important person to me. I need her by my side. That’s about it.”
“So it’s true. Why didn’t you tell me before that you have a girlfriend?” Nana gave Rulu a reproachful look, her feelings a mix of emotions.
“The reasons are complicated, and it’s not what you think, Nana. Please don’t be angry,” Rulu said, looking flustered as he tried to explain.
Nana looked deeply disappointed. She said softly, “Why would I be angry? It’s your freedom to do what you want. I have no right to interfere. After all, I’m just…” Nana didn’t finish her sentence. She turned around and quickly returned to her room, closing the door.
“What’s wrong with her? She seems really upset,” C.C. said thoughtfully, watching Nana leave.
“It’s all your fault. You’ve really messed things up this time,” Rulu glared at C.C., his expression fierce.
C.C. raised an eyebrow and said unhappily, “Why are you blaming me? I was just doing something important—repairing your spiritual-power damage.”
“You didn’t have to do it while I was sleeping. You almost scared me to death.”
“You don’t understand. The best time to perform spiritual-power restoration is when you’re asleep. If you don’t want it, fine. It’s your loss in the end.”
Rulu sighed deeply, not knowing how to respond to C.C. Finally, he said, “Forget it. What’s done is done. Go get dressed. Running around in pajamas is ridiculous.”
“But I don’t have any clothes to change into.”
“What a hassle…” Rulu glanced at Nana’s room, considering borrowing some clothes for C.C., but he was worried it might upset Nana. He gave up on the idea and went to his own room, bringing back a gray jacket and blue pants for C.C. C.C. didn’t mind wearing Rulu’s clothes and put them on immediately.
After a while, Rulu went to Nana’s room to explain that C.C. was a friend he had known long before he met Nana. They had lost contact for a long time and only reconnected last night.
Rulu said that C.C.’s family had all died in the war, leaving her homeless and wandering, pursued by the Sanctuary. He wanted to take her in and let her stay here. As for the morning incident, it was entirely an accident, and he hoped Nana wouldn’t mind.
After hearing Rulu’s explanation, Nana quickly stopped being angry and even felt sorry for C.C. She agreed to let C.C. stay and personally prepared breakfast for three, inviting C.C. to the dining table in the main hall to enjoy the meal together.
