Chapter 32: Reconnaissance

Rulu approached the mansion and hid in a dark corner, surveying the building. He noticed many soldiers with guns standing guard around the mansion, as well as several humanoid armored troopers patrolling nearby.

"With so many guards around this house, that Prince Su Wen must be inside. I need to find a way to sneak in," Rulu thought. He noticed a courtyard at the back of the mansion with a lush, large tree, and immediately came up with a plan.

Rulu took out a small black ball from his person and threw it toward a garbage pile about fifty meters away from the front of the mansion. With a "poof" sound, the black ball transformed into a small orange-red fireball and flew into the garbage pile. Immediately, the garbage pile made crackling sounds and burst into flames.

"What's happening? Why is there a fire over there?!"

"I think I saw a fireball fly in there."

"Quickly put out the fire! His Highness the Prince is resting. Don't disturb him."

The burning garbage pile attracted the attention of the guards surrounding the mansion, and many guards rushed toward the fire. Seizing this opportunity, Rulu rode the wind and rose about twenty meters above the ground, flying over the guards surrounding the house to the courtyard at the back of the mansion, landing in the large tree.

Rulu hid in the tree, cautiously surveying the pitch-black courtyard. After confirming there was no one in the courtyard, he flew down from the tree, approached the back door of the mansion, and entered the interior through it.

The inside of the mansion was dark and quiet, seemingly empty. Rulu moved silently and carefully through the dark interior of the mansion, coming to the first-floor reception hall.

Suddenly, voices came from the crack of a partially closed door. Rulu quietly approached the door and placed his eye against the crack to look inside.

This room was brightly lit, appearing to be a study. There were two people in the room. The man sitting in the chair was one Rulu had seen earlier—Prince Su Wen. The other was a burly, purple-uniformed, bald man. The bald man stood about three meters in front of Prince Su Wen, talking with him.

"This garbage place really makes me sick, makes my whole body uncomfortable. I've aged more than ten years in an instant. And I have to see these low-class breeds every day from now on. I really want to kill them all," Prince Su Wen said, his facial muscles twitching neurotically, his eyes full of viciousness.

The bald man's face showed a pleasing smile as he said softly: "Your Highness, you needn't be so angry. You mentioned earlier that you came to our Blue Sea City as governor because His Majesty the Emperor has important tasks for you. If you can successfully complete what His Majesty the Emperor has instructed, perhaps you can quickly return to Sanctuary."

"Hmph, it's not that easy," Prince Su Wen said with a gloomy face. "This task was originally assigned to the Court Mage, but a few days ago, the Court Mage was found dead in a nearby underground tunnel. His Majesty the Emperor had no choice but to send someone else to handle this matter."

The narrative has been taken without authorization; if you see it on Amazon, report the incident.

The bald man said: "Regarding this matter, I have also heard rumors. It seems that the two Court Mages encountered rebels in the underground tunnel and were unfortunately killed by them during the battle."

Su Wen nodded: "Yes, at that time, the Court Mages had already found the person the Emperor was looking for and were about to take her back to Sanctuary. Unexpectedly, something went wrong, and now the person the Emperor wants has also gone missing. Because of this, the Emperor was furious, almost wanting to dismiss all military leaders in Blue Sea City."

The bald man's forehead sweated as he cautiously said: "Although I am responsible for commanding Blue Sea City's troops, the situation arose suddenly at that time, and there was no way to mobilize a large number of troops within a short period, which is why the rebels succeeded. May I ask, Your Highness, who exactly is the person the Emperor is looking for? If you tell me, I will do my utmost to help you find her to make up for my past mistakes."

Prince Su Wen looked at the bald man with extreme caution and said: "This is highly classified information. After you learn about this, don't let anyone else know, not even a single person. If any hint of this matter leaks, not only will your life be forfeit, but I will also face severe punishment."

The muscular man was alarmed and quickly said: "I will keep this absolutely confidential and will not let even the slightest hint of this matter leak out."

Prince Su Wen made an "Mm" sound and said softly: "It's a woman. The person the Emperor is looking for is a young woman with green hair."

"A young woman with green hair?!" Hearing this, the bald man was taken aback. Rulu, eavesdropping outside the door, was also extremely surprised, as the woman Prince Su Wen described was obviously the one he had encountered in the underground tunnel.

Prince Su Wen continued: "This woman recently escaped from our Sanctuary and came to this area. The Emperor said this woman is extremely important. She not only possesses strange powers but also knows all the secrets of our Sanctuary Empire, relating to the life and death of our entire Sanctuary. Therefore, we must find her back at all costs."

"I see." The bald man nodded solemnly. Suddenly, something occurred to him, and he said: "In my humble opinion, since the Court Mages have already been killed by the rebels, it's possible that the woman the Emperor is looking for is also dead. If that's the case, no matter how hard we search, we won't find her."

Prince Su Wen pondered and said: "Feihu General, what you say makes sense. Actually, that's what I initially told the Emperor. Guess what the Emperor told me?"

Feihu General said: "I am ignorant and cannot guess what His Majesty the Emperor said."

Prince Su Wen said gravely: "The Emperor said this woman cannot be killed. Even if she is dismembered into ten thousand pieces, even if her body is burned to ashes, she will not die."

"How is this possible? How can such a person exist in this world?!" Feihu General was shocked. Rulu, eavesdropping outside the door, was also so surprised that he almost cried out.

"These are the Emperor's own words. Are you doubting the Emperor?!" Prince Su Wen glared at Feihu General with displeasure.

"No, no, that's not what I meant," Feihu General quickly shook his head and waved his hands, saying: "Since this woman is still alive, she is very likely hiding in Blue Sea City. I will immediately issue a notice to pursue this green-haired woman with all our might, helping Your Highness complete the task assigned by His Majesty the Emperor."

"Fool!" Su Wen reprimanded harshly. "Have you forgotten so quickly that this matter is highly classified? The Emperor said that no one should know about this woman, not even what she looks like. If you do as you suggest, won't this matter be completely exposed?!"

Feihu General said with great difficulty: "Then what should we do? If we can't even describe her appearance, how can we find her?"

"Hmph, if it were that easy, the Emperor wouldn't have sent me to handle this matter. I'm telling you, if this matter isn't resolved, I won't be able to return to Sanctuary again, and your future, Feihu General, will also end here. But if this matter is successfully resolved, not only can I return to Sanctuary again, but you can also come with me to Sanctuary to receive the Emperor's recognition. Perhaps the Emperor, in his happiness, will permit you to stay in Sanctuary, and from then on, you can be immortal and enjoy eternal life in Sanctuary."
