Chapter 23: Spiritual-power

"This is bad, we can't let her interact with others," the white-haired elderly man exclaimed upon seeing the green-haired girl and Rulu embracing and kissing on the ground. He quickly summoned a gale to blow toward Rulu and the green-haired girl, separating the two who had fallen.

"I hope she isn't dead. Otherwise, if His Majesty the Emperor blames me, I'm finished," the white-haired elderly man thought as he cautiously walked toward the green-haired girl. At that moment, Rulu, supporting himself with his palm against the ground, slowly stood up.

"Restrain him! Don't let him stand!" the white-haired elderly man shouted loudly. The middle-aged white-robed man behind him raised his silver staff, intending to summon another gale to control Rulu.

"Stop!" Rulu's eyes flashed with a strange light as he stared into the eyes of the middle-aged white-robed man and commanded sternly.

The middle-aged white-robed man froze momentarily, lowering the silver staff he had just raised, and did not summon a gale to attack Rulu.

"What are you dazed for? Quickly make him lie down!" The white-haired elderly man, noticing the middle-aged white-robed man hadn't attacked Rulu, shouted loudly again.

"The one who should lie down is you, Grand Mage," Rulu's lips curved into an eerie smile as he spoke in a strange tone.

"As you command," the middle-aged white-robed man responded softly, quickly approaching the white-haired elderly man from behind. He raised his silver staff and struck the back of the white-haired elderly man's head with force.

With a dull "thud," the silver staff hit the white-haired elderly man's head with precision. The white-haired elderly man let out a painful cry and fell to his knees.

"Have you gone mad?! Stop at once!!!" The white-haired elderly man turned back, his eyes widened in terror, and screamed at the middle-aged white-robed man with all his might.

"You should lie down, Grand Mage," the middle-aged white-robed man said mechanically, swinging the staff again, striking the white-haired elderly man's head heavily.

The staff hit the white-haired elderly man's forehead, causing him to see stars and blood to flow freely from his forehead. The white-haired elderly man fell to the ground, his body constantly convulsing as he emitted painful moans, completely losing the power to resist.

"Make him quiet down. I don't want to hear a sound from him," Rulu said with a smile as he walked to the side of the fallen white-robed elderly man.

"Understood," the middle-aged white-robed man replied, continuously swinging the silver staff at the head of the fallen white-haired elderly man, smashing his head until it was a bloody mess, no longer recognizable. After struggling on the ground for a while, the white-haired elderly man finally stopped moving and no longer made any sound.

"Haha... Ahahahahaha..." Rulu laughed happily, saying between laughs, "This power... this power is truly amazing, beyond my imagination. With this power, my wish can finally come true."

After saying this, Rulu looked at the middle-aged white-robed man who stood dumbfounded and commanded him: "Well done. Now you can die too."

"Die?" the middle-aged white-robed man murmured, his eyes showing a struggle, and his previously dull gaze became clear.

"What's happening? Grand Mage, why are you lying on the ground? Why is there so much blood on me? What happened? Did... did I kill you?!" The middle-aged white-robed man trembled, looking at the fallen white-haired elderly man with a terrified expression, plunging into great confusion.

"Hmm, it seems this power isn't as strong as I imagined. It doesn't completely control a person's mind, but this is enough," Rulu muttered to himself. Taking advantage of the middle-aged white-robed man's confusion, he took out a handgun from his body and pulled the trigger.

With a clear "bang," the middle-aged white-robed man fell into a pool of blood with confusion and terror on his face. The bullet hit his left chest, pierced his heart, and killed him instantly.

"Hmph, you brought this upon yourselves. You can't blame others," Rulu coldly glanced at the two white-robed men lying on the ground, then walked to the green-haired girl who was lying there. The girl's eyes were tightly closed, and her body wasn't moving at all.

"You can't die. I have so many questions to ask you," Rulu thought, his expression becoming extremely tense. He crouched down and carefully placed his hand on the girl's neck—no pulse. He then placed his hand near her nostrils—no breathing.

"It's over..." Rulu looked lost, his face showing a helpless expression. Still unwilling to give up, he bent down and placed his ear on the girl's chest for nearly a minute.

"Although she still has body warmth, her heart has completely stopped beating. This means she... she's really dead," Rulu's face turned pale, his hands dropping powerlessly, feeling as if all strength had left his body.

"Who exactly are you, giving me this strange power, and then dying so easily in front of me? Why, why is this happening?!" Rulu stared fixedly at the girl's beautiful face, pondering this question. However, after thinking for a long time, he couldn't find an answer.

"Regardless, I should first take her body out of here and find a good place to bury her. That's the least I can do for her," Rulu finally came to his senses after a while. He carried the green-haired girl's body on his back and headed toward the underground tunnel exit.

However, Rulu had a slender build and had already been injured in the previous battle. Although the girl wasn't very heavy, Rulu found it strenuous to carry her. After walking for just ten minutes, he was already struggling. Not paying attention, he stepped on a small pebble, and with two "thud" sounds, Rulu and the girl fell heavily to the ground. This fall almost broke Rulu's back.

"This isn't working. I'm not a Refining body Ultra-capable. Physical tasks aren't my strong suit," Rulu clutched his lower back, lying on the ground and breathing heavily. It took him quite a while to stand up again.

"Although I wish to take you along, I'm truly powerless to do so. Please forgive me. Rest in peace here," Rulu said to the girl with guilt in his heart. He found a secluded, clean place in the cavern, laid down the girl's body, then took off his outer garment to cover her, and left alone toward the underground tunnel exit.

Half an hour later, Rulu walked out of the underground tunnel, arriving in a suburban area. The sky was filled with stars, the surroundings were pitch black, and there was no one around.
