Chapter 31: Thought He Was a King, Turns Out He’s Scrap Metal

Shangguan Yunli remembered that he was the one who told Ye Xian to come talk to Tingshen. Standing by without helping now felt wrong, so he leaned toward Bo Tingshen and said quietly, “Tingshen, just do me a favor and humor him a bit. Let’s py a little longer and give him a chance to expin.”

Ye Xian caught Shangguan Yunli’s lip movement and quickly pyed along, grabbing a golf club nearby and respectfully handing it to Bo Tingshen. “President, please.”

Shangguan Yunli made a suggestion, “Ye Xian, how about this—since you were the one in the wrong, an apology should come with sincerity. You and I py a round. If you win, President Bo will give you five minutes to apologize. Deal?”

  “Sure~”

The two of them were in sync, pying their parts smoothly.

Shangguan Yunli snapped his fingers happily. Since he started helping, he might as well go all the way. He’d go easy on the kid too.

But to his surprise, Ye Xian gnced at Bo Tingshen and suddenly said, “But I’m apologizing to the President, so I should compete with him.”

  “What?!”

Shangguan Yunli was so shocked he nearly dropped his golf club.

Did he hear that right? This little gay guy wanted to challenge Tingshen?

Did he not know that Bo Tingshen won a national golf championship at the age of 18?

Or… was he actually skilled enough to back up that big talk?

“I’m fine with that,” Bo Tingshen replied calmly.

Shangguan Yunli gave him a surprised look, feeling an odd sense of… a wolf about to bully a bunny.

Ye Xian, completely unaware of Shangguan Yunli’s good intentions, had his own logic. He figured someone like Shangguan Yunli—a pampered rich kid—would be good at games like golf. But a busy president like Bo Tingshen, buried in work all day, probably had no time to keep up his skills.

So her chances of winning were probably higher against the president. Especially since… her own golf skills were, well, hard to describe.

Back in her previous life, she started acting right after college and never had time to develop hobbies beyond the basic skills an entertainer needed. Her only exposure to golf was when she had to learn it quickly for a modern idol drama—and that was only for a few days. Years had passed since, and she’d forgotten almost everything…

“I’ll referee. Who’s going first?” Shangguan Yunli looked between the two.

Ye Xian gnced at Bo Tingshen, then raised her hand smartly. “I’ll go first!”

If the president wasn’t that good and pyed poorly, it would be embarrassing for him to go first.

Bold move, Shangguan Yunli silently praised, then handed her the golf club.

Ye Xian took it and walked to the tee-off spot. Her gaze was fixed ahead—sharp and focused.

She slowly bent her slender body forward, gripped the club tightly, and made a few practice swings. Though she didn’t touch the ball, her rotation axis was spot on. The aura of confidence radiating off her was completely different from the timid, fttering attitude just moments ago.

“Her form is textbook…” Shangguan Yunli muttered as he watched, “Maybe she really is good…”

  THWACK!

Ye Xian furrowed her brow and swung with all her might in a powerful arc.

Shangguan Yunli followed the ball’s expected trajectory with tense excitement… but his words died in his throat.

  ...Caw caw caw...

It was as if a flock of crows had flown overhead.

  Where was the ball?

  The sky was empty.

Ye Xian’s swing froze mid-air. Why did it feel like… she hadn’t hit anything?

Bo Tingshen lowered his gaze to the golf ball, which still sat quietly at the starting point, completely unmoved. The corner of his mouth twitched.

Shangguan Yunli quickly looked down at his feet.

  What the—? She missed?

Was this kid here to joke around?

He thought she was some kind of hidden pro. Turns out… she was just scrap metal.
