Chapter 30: He’s Actually Tugging at the President?!
"Who told you that?"
"Don’t bme Pang Kai, alright? He didn’t say anything. Come on, is there any gossip in Beijing that can escape my ears?" Shangguan Yunli chuckled.
"But seriously, this Ye Xian has really made me see him in a new light tely.
"You’ve been abroad for two years, so you probably don’t know — he joined FOR two years ago, and no one knows his background. All we knew was that he had some rich sugar daddy backing him. But guess who the internet suspects the sugar daddy is? The Ye family’s second young master!
"Still, I always thought that rumor didn’t make sense. Ye Xian clearly joined FOR for your brother. Everyone in the city knows he was chasing after Wan Ze like crazy. If Ye Shaowen really were his sugar daddy, why would he fund him to chase another man? That would make the gay scene way too wild!
"Besides, Ye Xian has always been a hopeless romantic, obsessed with your brother. Following him around all day like a puppy. And now, suddenly, he’s all about his career?
"I saw it myself at the old master’s birthday banquet—he took the initiative to greet several directors and producers. They didn’t really respond, but still."
Shangguan Yunli smirked as he recalled how Ye Xian had timidly tried to beg Bo Tingshen for a chance. "And for someone as bold as he usually is, he sure seemed respectful and scared around you."
"Oh?"
Bo Tingshen’s lips curled slightly. Scared? Yet he slept through my speech?
"Yeah, and there’s more—"
Just as Shangguan Yunli was about to spill more gossip, he noticed Bo Tingshen’s hand freeze on his cup, his sharp gaze fixed on another section of the golf course.
Shangguan looked up to see what had caught his attention.
On the C green, a sunny-looking boy in a baseball cap, gray hoodie, and sneakers was jogging toward them.
A breeze lifted the hem of his hoodie, revealing a small sliver of pale, slender waist that sparkled under the sun — slimmer than most women’s.
What the—? Ye Xian?
Speak of the devil!
Shangguan Yunli nearly choked on his water.
He thought Ye Xian wouldn’t have the guts to come here. Guess he was wrong!
"President~"
Even from afar, Ye Xian was grinning ear to ear, waving enthusiastically as he approached.
Bo Tingshen paused for a few seconds, then turned to gnce at Shangguan Yunli — his gaze clear in its meaning.
Shangguan Yunli frantically waved his hands. “It wasn’t me! Don’t look at me like that…” But there was no denying it. Only he had known Bo Tingshen’s schedule today at South Mirror Lake.
"I was just joking with him! I didn’t think he’d actually come!"
"President!"
Ye Xian finally reached them, panting slightly under the sun umbrel—only to see another person beside Bo Tingshen.
Shangguan Yunli?!
Ah, so they were close friends. No wonder he knew Bo’s schedule.
Pretending not to recognize Shangguan, Ye Xian bent slightly, hands on knees, a few glistening drops of sweat on his forehead. He smiled sweetly, eyes full of fttery. “President, you’re golfing here too? What a coincidence~”
Shangguan Yunli: A promising young man. At least he didn’t throw me under the bus.
"Not a coincidence. I was just about to leave."
Bo Tingshen’s deep voice rumbled as he reached for his neatly folded suit jacket nearby.
"Eh?"
Sensing his intention, Ye Xian quickly stepped forward and grabbed his sleeve. "Come on, don’t go. It must be fate! How about one round together?"
Shangguan Yunli: “?!” This kid is fearless! Actually tugging at Bo Tingshen?!
Bo Tingshen’s eyes lowered to the hand clutching his arm. His gaze grew colder by the second.
Ye Xian felt the chill and instantly let go, shivering a little. “Sorry, President Bo, I just wanted to invite you for a game and… apologize for the gift I gave you at the birthday banquet. I can totally expin it!”
