Chapter 3: Hidden Beauty
"He knows?"
Well, of course. The Second Young Master had just called for help, ciming Ye Xian had drugged him. And right after that, a man in a bathrobe had come rushing out of the hotel. Even if he didn’t recognize the person, the President would’ve figured it out.
“Should I go catch him?”
“No need. If this blows up, it’ll be bad for Xiao Ze’s reputation.”
“Understood.”
Pang Kai nodded and drove the car back into the hotel.
Bo Tingshen cast a gnce out the window at the river, which was still rippling slightly. In no time, the surface returned to calm.
Though it was early summer, the river water was still chillingly cold. Ye Xian was shivering all over as she made her way back to the hotel where she was staying, following the memory of the body’s original owner. But when she caught sight of herself in the mirror, she nearly jumped in fright.
There, reflected back at her, was a person with a head of explosive green hair, her heavy smokey makeup smeared by river water into splotches of bck and white. Her whole face looked like some “man” who’d just crawled out of a horror movie. That was… her?!
So ugly it was unbearable to look at. No wonder that group of tourists had screamed and run when they saw her emerge from the water.
Ye Xian quickly grabbed the makeup remover from the vanity and scrubbed for a long time before finally revealing her true appearance.
Turns out, this Ye Xian wasn’t ugly at all—in fact, she was stunning. The kind of beauty that blurred the line between male and female.
Her beautifully shaped star-like eyes were clear and bright, with long curled shes, smooth brows, a straight nose, and pale pink lips that shimmered with a soft gloss. Even the faintest smile seemed to sparkle with charm. Her skin was luminous and snow-white—so perfect and delicate that not even the most luxurious skincare products in her past life could have achieved it. Her palm-sized face was refined to an extreme degree.
With short hair, she would look like a graceful, jade-like youth—elegant and unmatched. With long hair, she would be dazzlingly beautiful—vivid and enchanting.
With such incredible natural beauty, why on earth would she wear that horrifying smokey makeup? Had she gone mad?
As she wondered this, memories belonging to the original Ye Xian began to surface in her mind:
The first time Ye Xian confessed her feelings to Jiang Wanze, he rejected her coldly. His reason: “I could never like someone like you.”
Ye Xian interpreted that to mean he didn’t like how she looked. So she asked what kind of person he did like. Thinking she was just pying dumb, Jiang Wanze pointed to a poster of a heavily made-up foreign female star and sneered, “That. Can you become like that?”
From that moment on, Ye Xian embarked on a wild smokey-makeup journey… and never turned back.
Ye Xian wiped the sweat from her forehead and began sorting through the absurdity of everything that had happened.
She clearly remembered being at the Golden Image Awards ceremony. On stage, the host had been announcing with great emotion:
"Let’s congratute the winner of the 23rd Golden Image Award for Best Actress—Ye Xian!"
The hall erupted with long, thunderous appuse. She had smiled gracefully, lifted her glittering gown, and walked step by step toward the stage to accept her award. Just as she reached the final step, someone—whoever didn’t watch where they were going—stepped on her hem, and she tumbled off the stage.
The next thing she knew… she was in the Golden Tai Hotel, facing Jiang Wanze’s furious scolding.
It had to be that sworn rival Liu Rongrong who tripped her. Or maybe Fang Meier. Or—
What mattered now was that she had transmigrated into The Arrogant Film Emperor Only Spoils Me, as the character Ye Xian—the novel’s vicious supporting female with the same name.
This novel was actually the basis for the next drama her agent had booked for her. She’d been told to skim the original story if she had time, to help her better understand the role. She had casually flipped through it the night before.
The plot was basically a Mary Sue-style love story between the female lead, Luo Yuwei, who rose from obscurity to stardom, and the male lead, Jiang Wanze.
Of course, love in a several-hundred-chapter novel wasn’t smooth sailing. The vicious supporting character, Ye Xian, was one of the main obstacles.
