Chapter 4: Prestigious Family Background

  Chapter 4: Prestigious Family Background

Ye Xian actually came from a very prestigious background.

The Ye Group was one of the top e-commerce enterprises in the Imperial Capital. Her father was the chairman, and her mother was a renowned artist known far and wide. Her eldest brother, Ye Juncheng, was a world-famous cardiologist, and her second brother, Ye Shaowen, had taken over the family business and become the young and wealthy president of the Ye Group.

From the moment she was born, the Ye family treated her like a precious treasure—afraid she would fall if they held her too loosely, or melt if they kept her too close. Because the eldest son, Ye Juncheng, had once been kidnapped as a child, the family didn’t even dare send Ye Xian to school. She was educated entirely by private tutors, and they never publicly announced the birth of their precious daughter Ye Xian, all in order to protect her and ensure her safe upbringing.

But this daughter, showered with infinite love, somehow grew into a die-hard fangirl. The first time she saw Jiang Wanze, the leader of the boy band COR, on TV, she instantly fell into a mad infatuation.

She didn’t want to study anymore, had no interest in books, and became obsessed with joining the entertainment industry—joining COR, disguising herself as a boy just to get close to Jiang Wanze.

Father and Mother Ye doted on their little princess to the point they couldn’t even get mad at her. No matter what she asked for, they always agreed. Her eldest brother, Ye Juncheng, had been abroad for further studies in recent years and had no time to manage her, while her second brother, Ye Shaowen—who was an over-the-top sister simp—was so furious seeing his sister obsessed with some random guy that he beat her a few times out of rage. But even that didn’t snap her out of it. In the end, he could only support her from behind the scenes.

She wanted to join Star Entertainment and COR, so Ye Shaowen spent an enormous amount of money to force her way in—so much so that he pressured the COR (short for Trifolium, or three-leaf clover) boy band into changing their name to FOR (Four-leaf Clover).

A three-leaf clover is rare and unique, while four-leaf clovers are ordinary. On top of that, Ye Xian had zero talent in singing, dancing, or acting. Her smokey makeup was an eyesore, and she clung to Jiang Wanze like a shadow. She dragged down COR’s popurity and triggered online hatred, especially from Jiang Wanze’s fans, who “greeted” Ye Xian with insults eighteen times a day like clockwork.

The fans had no idea where this rich newbie had come from. Once, someone happened to spot Ye Xian getting out of Ye Shaowen’s car and immediately concluded she was his kept little lover.

That’s when the rumor that “Ye Xian is a disgusting gay” began to spread.

As the biggest vicious supporting character in the novel, Ye Xian really had done a lot of terrible things—including stalking and harassing Jiang Wanze, setting up traps to harm the female lead Luo Yuwei, and so on. But her end was also extremely tragic.

During a shoot, driven by jealousy, she pushed Luo Yuwei—who was filming a scene with the male lead—into the water, causing her to develop a high fever and lose a major role. That’s when Jiang Wanze, who deeply loved Luo Yuwei, finally snapped.

That very night, Ye Xian was kidnapped by several thugs and brutally gang-raped.

The kidnappers crudely repeated the male lead’s words:

"Didn’t you say you liked men? Then let’s give you more than enough!"

To be treated that way by the man she loved—Ye Xian was utterly devastated. Afterward, she climbed to the top of Star Entertainment’s building and jumped to her death.

Back when Ye Xian (the current Ye Xian, that is) read the novel, she hadn’t felt much. After all, this character constantly tormented the male and female leads and stood in the way of their sweet romance. To readers, it felt like even dying ten thousand times wouldn’t be enough punishment.

But now that she had transmigrated into this body, and thought about that fate again—her palms began to sweat.

Since Heaven had given her another chance to live, she absolutely couldn’t let the tragedy repeat itself.

With such a stunning face and such a powerful background—why on earth should Ye Xian fall to such a pitiful end over a man?

  It was ridiculous.
