Chapter 20: Blind

Every step I took felt like I was going to collapse. My mind was at its limit, my primal instincts being the only thing driving me forward.

I felt as the control over my body slowy grew weak as I ran.

My mind wasn't lamenting over the fact that I always found myself in unfavorable situations.

No. I wasn't even thinking at all.

As I ran, I instinctively grabbed anything around me, and threw it at the spider chasing me from behind.

I didn't look back to see if I hit it or not, I couldn't afford to look back.

I ran from tunnel to tunnel as the spider slowly gained up on me.

I could feel as the ground shook as the spider ran with each step.

In the back of my mind I knew I couldn't run away. My instincts were telling me that I wasnt going to make it out.

Regardless, my body refused to lay down and accept its fate.

Even with every step I take being slower then the last, I refused to give in.

Unfortunately, I can't escape the inevitable.

My legs gave out as I collapse on the ground, my lungs burned, as if the air itself seemed to sear my lungs from the inside, with every breath.

  I couldn't move.

The story has been illicitly taken; should you find it on Amazon, report the infringement.

My enitre body cramped as the spider approached me. I overworked my muscles, No, I did more than just that. My muscles were beyond overworked, even if somehow the spider left me alone, I will never be able to get back up.

I could feel shots of pain in my right arm despite no longer having it, like if my body has yet to realize it's gone.

  "N-noo" I groaned.

I couldn't end like this. I don't want to end like this.

The spider placed one of its legs on my head.

Slowly I felt as it slowly put more pressure, the back of my skull cracking as the spider continued its sick game.

My vision started to fade until I lost my vision completely.

Slowly, everything started to become jumbled, sound, touch, smell, everything. My brain could no longer process anything correctly anymore because of the constant pressure that was destroying my head.

The back of my skull was caved in, yet I was no longer myself to experience the pain anymore. I couldn't even form a coherent thought.

I was simply a bag of flesh now. Alive but not living.

The spider lifted its leg off my head. Raising its head up, it open its mouth wide and shot venom at my body.

The venom hit my face and left check, buring it like acid.

I was at the spiders mercy.

'Pain. Over and over. Why should I keep fighting. Is there even a reason to fight if I'm just going to get hurt. Even if I try to change, I'm just not strong enough, I'm not fast enough. IM NOT ENOUGH. Adapt to your surroundings, but what if you can't adapt. What if your too weak, what if you try to adapt but its not enough.'

Despite half my brain gone, this thought formed. It was as if something outside of my body was supporting me.

No, support isn't the right word. It's helping me but, I felt it draining me, draining my emotions, my thoughts, my experiences.

It was eating, just as one would when growing. Slowly growing in strength the more it devoured.

Time appeared to have stopped momentarily while the blank seed feasted.

Slowly after the blank seed finished, the spider began to slowly move again, opening its mouth to shot more venom.

Suddenly, the spider stoped moving, as if frozen in place.

Out of view something caught its attention, something brought fear to its body as it shook in place unable to move.

Footsteps echo throughout the enitre tunnel as it approached the spider.

The air shook as it's eye meet the spiders, a heavy pressure loomed over the spider as it began to collapse.

The person doing this was a dwarf with gray hair and sliverish eyes. It's eyes seem to light up the tunnel like a torch in a raging storm.

The dwarf walked up to the spider as his eyes grew brighter.

The spider began to bleed from its eyes and all orifices. Its body contorted and spasmed out of control.

  The spider died of fear.

  Sigh

The dwarf sighed as he slowly turned towards me, it's eyes growing dark as his eyes land on me.

He walked over to me in a slow stride.

He pulled a potion out of his bag he was carrying on his hip.

"You're not normal." His voice echoed.

Bringing the potion up to my lips, he slowly made me drink it.

"Are you like me?" He asked himself.

He wasn't looking for an answer from me, even if he was, I was in no shape to respond.

My entire body heals except for my Eyes.

  I'm blind
