Magic always used to be a big part of life in the Kingdom of Readen until about thirty years ago when it suddenly vanished for everyone in the world. No one knew what happened to the magic or why it stopped working. Many magical devices and wards within the kingdom failed all at once which created a sense of panic. Things were very dire for a decade before the people in the country learned how to live without magic.
