Hmm? I feel something soft and heavy on my chest... When I opened my eyes, I was met with the pleasant surprise of Isis straddling me, her gorgeous body swaying back and forth as she asked, "Do you like the way I woke you up?"
I was still operating at 2% brain power, so I answered honestly, "Yeah."
"How naughty," She retorted with a flirtatious smile that made my heart skip a beat, but my fear of the Wujia kept me in check. Also, I knew that wasn't the only reason she was here, as with time, I'd come to learn the Apostles' respective roles. She was the messenger, so a new mission had dropped from on high.
"What is it this time?" I addressed the elephant in the room without hesitation.
"That Betrunian noble you helped is at the final stages of executing his pn. Help him succeed at all costs," She expined.
"Will Cerberus be interfering again?" I asked, and her eyes widened in surprise.
"Y-yes. They're likely to send their strongest, so be careful out there. I'd really hate to see you hurt," She spoke that st part with a strong motherly affection that left me stunned for a few moments.
"D-don't worry. I'll tread very carefully," I managed after collecting myself.
"Please do," She left me with those words as she vanished into mist. From what they said st time, I'm guessing this is another solo mission, I thought to myself as I got off the bed and headed to the castle hot springs. It had become a part of my morning routine, but today, I lingered in the hot springs for longer than usual, psyching myself up with, You can do this, Daphne! You've gotten stronger!
Once I felt ready, I got up and wiped myself clean with a white towel, to the dismay of the Dhampir maids present. At first, they'd always wipe me clean and dress me up, but I protested against it after it had gone on for a while, and they reluctantly stopped. Call me paranoid, but the idea of vampires surrounding me at my most vulnerable state was scary and... A bunch of older women dressing me up is just embarrassing, I thought to myself, my cheeks burning as I mechanically dressed up.
From there, I visited the castle treasury and collected everything I'd need for the mission. Hmm, the Mythril Katana I took a while back is still in good condition, so that leaves... I inspected my bow and thought, Damn, I've not been taking good care of you, tely. I felt it was finally time to make a change, so I collected a Mythril bow and gave my old, rusty iron bow a fitting burial. I was a huge fan of lighter weapons, so Mythril being the lightest of them all with exceptional output, was my go-to pick.
And once I was done with that, I went to the throne room to ask my boss for directions. However, before I could even get a word in, he interrupted with, "Lordship: Terraportation." And I found myself at another side of the continent. Just like st time, I shook my head with a smile as I strolled into the burning capital.
