Chapter 1

  Midnight already? Damn.

The tall man with dark hair and a short beard rose from his small worn couch and walked to the kitchen. He opened his fridge and looked for something to drink ultimately closing the fridge without anything.

"Yo! Liam, you there?" A crackly voice shouted from a headset left on the couch.

Liam picked up the headset and replied "Uh, shit, yeah. Sorry guys, I'll be back in a couple minutes, going for a midnight drink run."

  "Alright, be careful man."

Liam threw on an old black jacket and slid his feet into his shoes, tucking the laces into the sides. He opened his apartment door only to be battered with rain and wind. It's raining? Damnit... Liam slid his way down the stairs, nearly slipping on a puddle of water.

Liam walked around the corner, revealing the neon signs and ever-present lights of the convenience store. He nearly tripped on a loose panel of the sidewalk. Piece of shit, is the city ever gonna fix this? Liam crossed the street, it was too late for any cars to be out in this area anyways. He entered the store, the sensor making a slight ding as the doors slid open.

  "Hey Liam."

"Huh? Oh, hey Greg, they have you on night shift again?"

"No, I actually requested these hours, I need a little extra cash and the night shift pays better."

  "Huh, cool."

Liam browsed the store, grabbing his usual concessions. "Here's a twenty and a five, my change is three dollars, 2 quarters, and a dime."

"What? No way, hold on-" Greg mashed buttons on the register scanning Liam's items. "How'd you do that?"

"It's just my usual stuff, I memorized it."

"That's crazy, alright, have a good night man."

"Yeah, you too." Liam exited the store with a ding. The rain had grown heavier. Liam crossed the road, but halfway through, he heard the blaring of a horn and saw the flash of lights to his left. He leaped across the road to avoid the speeding truck. "Asshole!" Liam was so distracted by the truck, he tripped over the cracked pavement and rolled his ankle. "Ah fuck!" Augh, goddammit, fucking guy. Liam rose from the sidewalk slowly, limping over to his apartment's stairs. It'd be nice to sit down for a moment, too bad it's RAINING ON MY PARADE. Liam sighed and made his way up the stairs, before he slipped on the puddle of water at the last step, unable to recover, thanks to his leg.

Black... No, not quite. Beyond black, the absence. All Liam could see was the absence, that is to say, nothing. There was nothing. Liam could feel his limbs and he felt no pain. He felt no hot or cold. He felt... nothing? He felt the absence of things. The absence of air weighing you down, gravity pulling you to the ground, the absence of energy, it would be cold were there something to be cold. He smelled nothing, even the impossible undetectable scent of air was gone. He heard nothing, not even the flowing of his own blood or the beating of his heart. He tasted nothing, not even the faint taste of wind. Liam was truly in nothing... perhaps it might be more apt to say Liam was nothing, though of course, one cannot describe nothing.

Where am I? What is this? Alright Liam, deep breaths. In, ou-... What? In... In. IN. IN. I can't breath- Oh my god i'm going to die! I have to get out! ...I can't move. This is how it ends? ...Okay what the fuck, how am alive? I've been uh... sitting? here for like 20 minutes? None of this makes sense, I can't do anything... I should make something. Like... I don't know, a galaxy? Yeah, it'll have a supermassive blackhole right in the middle, and some ancient civilization used it to power their tech... yeah, I like that idea.

Light. A countless number of lights of every hue and wavelength exploded out from an infinitely small point, forming galaxies and nebulas, a vast ever filling universe, movement that should take millenia happening the time it takes to blink, and then, it stopped. What... I wish this made sense.

  What? Uh, reset?

Everything turned back, back to nothing.

Okay, why don't we... A 12x12x10 ft. room, with a table and a chair, both made of oak, and with a shag carpet.

Suddenly a room surrounded Liam, startling him slightly.

  "Uh, summarize? Display?"

Liam sat at the table and took a deep breath. "Computer?" with a flash his old gaming pc was on the table, a cord connecting it to a new outlet in the wall. Liam turned the computer on and entered google, typing his query.

"One? It's year one? This is ridiculous, am I having a fever dream as I die? What's even happening?"

"What? Who assigns tasks? What is a "Restricted"? What does "Your power of creation is unlimited" mean?"

  "Who assigned that task?"

"I don't remember "assigning myself a task". Seriously, I'm so confused, what am I even supposed to do?"

"How did you hear me? Are you monitoring me?" Liam whipped his head around the room, searching for cameras or anything that could be used to spy on him.

  "What? This is bullshit."

Liam sat in the room, silent, for what must've been hours. "Wait... real? Shit, that sounds cool, I might as well get to work," Liam stopped to think "Uh, reset room." Nothing, with two words, all of creation was erased.

Okay... uh, create universe like the one I came from, fast forward to the period where the first dwarfs start forming.

Light, endless light, an infinitely vast expanse of stars and planets, gases and debris.

Find the most suitable planet for life.

Liam moved, stars shifting around him streaking into lines before he abruptly stopped right above a planet with liquid oceans, a massive flaming yellow orb 100 million miles away. Can I just... ? Liam flew in towards the planet, touching down on the ground. Wait, can I... Mirror. A large mirror appeared in front of Liam. Alright, taller, more muscular, no more blemishes from acne when i was 14. Some minor changes appeared in Liam's reflection. Okay, yeah, this is fucking awesome, I do miss my friends though. Anyways, let's design some fantasy races, I'll be damned if this world won't have any magic, I have the perfect magic system too.

Nice, I like this. Pull up a human template.

Wow, that's a lot, I'll just make my own.

You could be reading stolen content. Head to the original site for the genuine story.

Nice, set humans to default for races, let's get some elves up in this BIATCH.

Now, Dwarves, I've always loved me some good ol' dwarves.

What else, Orcs? No, too overplayed. Halflings? Sure.

I should probably define the scale, huh... a 1 on the scale is equivalent to an infant human, a 10 on the scale is equivalent to an adult human, this scale is linear. Oh! Remove all threats to this planet for the next billion years. I should do Satyrs, I've always liked Satyrs.

Let's do a custom one, I was making this one BEFORE I DIED.

I'd do a flying race, but wouldn't they just dominate the other races? I think I'll do a gnome race.

I'll make the final race goblins. They might be discriminated against, but hey, who knows!

I like this arrangement. Create three more layers of reality for this universe, the first being of course, the physical realm, then the Aethereal realm, then the Divine realm, then the realm of observation, lock mortals to the physical realm, lock sprites to the Aethereal realm unless they actualize, then they can temporarily be in the physical realm. Lock deities and other such divine beings out of the observation realm, make them get permission if they want to enter the physical realm. Recreate the room I made earlier inside the observation realm, but give it a couch and a television, I will observe using the television, make one wall an unbreakable window giving me a view of the planet. Give the other wall a door that will open anywhere I want when I open it.

Once more creation filled the dull universe, effectively building three more universes. Liam was thrown from the realm onto his new couch. "This is nice. Speed up the world until land-based lifeforms occur, then set them on a trajectory towards the races I made, make sure each race has the capability to produce fertile offspring with each other, make sure each race is separated either onto a different continent or by a vast distance. Make sure the planet behaves as earth would... How large is the planet?"

"...Make sure it behaves as earth would." Out the window the planet began shifting, landmasses forming and sinking, volcanoes erupting and going dormant. then it stopped, the coasts of the planet covered in splotches of green. "Any imminent threat to this planet or the life on it?".

"Well, I have a cool Idea. Pull up creation screen for races."

"Create one of these dragons and place him deep under a mountain, he will slumber until I call upon him, double his physical stats and kinesthetic intelligence. Then resume until all the races are in place and until the first community have reached the late stone-age." Once again the world winded, green growing across the planet, deserts and ice-caps forming and fading. Until it suddenly stopped, but this time something was different.

"Yes." Liam was catapulted into a land covered with thick blankets of snow, "Remove my sense of cold and my bodies ability to be damaged by temperature. Oh, that's much better. Shift my form into a Satyr. Clothe me in proper attire for the period and area" Liam's body was shifted into a satyr with black fur and long horns, standing at 6', almost as tall as his human form. Liam looked around, spotting the Satyr civilization not too far away.

"Come Tchovka, we must harvest the crop." A tall muscled man with thick fur and light brown hair spoke down.

"But Father, we are in the middle of our game!" A younger boy complained, sharing the same fur and hair color as his father, but his fur was far less shaggy.

"You will have time f-" The ground rumbled and cracked, the snow in the mountain peaks came tumbling down. A figure shot past the father, the children whipped their heads around to look at the figure.

The man stopped as the falling snow tumbled, nearly crashing into the village. The man put his hands out in front of him and closed his fist slowly, as the mans hands closed, the torrent of white slowed, until it stopped. The man took a step forward and the wall of white pushed back, he rose his hands above, the snow raising into the air. The man with the black fur clapped his hands together and the snow exploded into flakes, slowly falling down to the ground.
