Chapter 84. 50th floor.

Hilda woke up afterwards, waking Shila up too.

“That felt nice,” Shila muttered softly, following Hilda out of the room as she yawned.

“Come on, let's go, I wanna see the 50th floor already,” Hilda hurried her as she ran to find Litah, finding her on the couch.

“Litah!” Hilda shouted, catching her attention.

“God, how does she have so much energy after waking up?” Shila thought to herself, walking up to Hilda and leaning on her as she closed her eyes.

“Yeah?” Litah took a few steps back to make some distance.

“Since you're staying here, could you contribute too?” Hilda said, carrying Shila up who just went back to sleep.

“Sure? I wasn't planning on staying for free after all. What do you need?” Litah said, glancing at Shila slightly before turning her attention back to Hilda.

“Just go find Anna, we've been having some problems, especially since every once in a while, there are other people who have long-range weapons, so a person who can use shields would be great,” Hilda said before preparing to teleport to the 50th floor.

“Is Anna like a girl slightly shorter than you with 2 pigtails?” Litah asked, wanting to confirm her identity.

“Yeah, you met her already?” Hilda stopped her teleportation, adjusting Shila slightly.

“Well… I suppose so, she also asked me to tell you she needed you or something,” Litah said before preparing to go find Anna.

“Really? Oh yeah, she told me about it before. Please help me to tell her that anybody who has any complaints about my religion, due to having their own religion, can keep their original religion while finding some other way to show loyalty to me,” Hilda said before preparing to teleport again.

“You have a religion?” Litah asked, slightly surprised.

“It's nothing much, it's just worshipping money, so don't worry about it,” Hilda said before teleporting off, not wanting to be delayed any further.

  “...”

“Screw it, I'll just do what I was told instead of questioning it,” Litah muttered softly to herself.

Hilda looked around her new location, finding herself in the middle of a grassland with a wooden table In front of her along with a note on it as she picked it up.

  Hello dear saviour,

A case of theft: this story is not rightfully on Amazon; if you spot it, report the violation.

On the off chance I get unlucky and you came here while I went away for a short while… best of luck in fighting or just run.

“Huh?” Hilda looked around, finding nothing nearby that could harm her, before shaking Shila awake.

“Shila, Shila, wake up,” Hilda shook her slightly harder before she finally woke up, yawning again and rubbing her eyes.

“Wha…?” She looked around before waking up fully.

“Hilda, why are we here?!” She shouted suddenly, surprising Hilda.

“Calm down, okay? It's safe,” Hilda said, looking around again.

“It's not! It's the fiftieth floor, where's the guy that's meant to be here?!” Shila shouted before Hilda passed her the note, as she read it before throwing it away.

“Then what are you doing?! Do as the note says and run!” Shila said, looking around panicky.

“Why?” Hilda asked before the ground suddenly started to tremble causing Hilda to turn around, finding a massive anteater chasing a swarm of ants in her direction.

“D-disgusting!” She stuttered before she began to run away with Shila clinging onto her for life.

“Hilda, run! Run!!!” Shila shouted before Hilda started shouting back. “I am, but how do you expect me to outrun a 6-legged giant creature?!”

As the ants nearly reached Hilda, she prepared to use her trait to run, but the ants were suddenly killed by a sudden attack, which also destroyed the ground in a massive path.

“What was that?” Hilda muttered softly before preparing to run again due to the anteater still being alive.

“Hey there, I suppose I was a little late for our first meeting, but saving your life makes up for that, right?” A voice suddenly came from Hilda's right.

Hilda and Shila both turned to the right, finding a man dressed in a dark orange and yellowish robe-like outfit while wearing shirt pants which were also yellow and dark orange, holding a flask for alcohol connected to a string in his right hand along with a massive sheath on his left hip.

“Who the hell are you?” Hilda asked him as he walked closer, easily towering over her with his height.

“I work for a weird cultist group. Anyways, they told me to come here to help teach you,” he said before slowly eyeing her up and down, leaning in slightly as Hilda backed up due to his breath smelling like alcohol.

“But you seem rather weak, don't you?” He said before swinging his flask using the string as Hilda dodged barely, with the place she was standing becoming a small crater, along with a trail of destruction behind.

“At least you were able to dodge that, how about this? I'll teach you if you can kill that,” he said before pointing at the incoming anteater.

“Why the hell would I want you to teach me anyway?” Hilda said while crossing her arms, glaring at him.

“Because you're pretty weak, and if you're planning to live on this floor or go higher, you'll die in your current state.” Hilda prepared to argue back, but Shila whispered to her. “His right, y'know?”

“Tsk… Fine, but you better be a good teacher instead of a liar,” Hilda unsheathed her sword before walking slightly nearer to the anteater, preparing to fight it.

“Hilda, you won't be able to kill it from the outside,” Shila whispered, confusing Hilda for a moment.

“Seriously?” She asked, not wanting to go along with Shila's suggestion.

“It has the defense of a level 500 and you have to be careful, it can digest ants that are around level 400 so its stomach acid is definitely lethal to you.” Shila said as Hilda ran straight at it.

“God, I hate this so damn much!” Hilda shouted as she carried Shila while running from the anteater.

“So, how is she?” The man suddenly received a message telepathically.

“Her strength is pathetic, but her willingness to fight despite how stupid it seems is good enough for me,” he answered before planning to cut off the transmission.

“Since I gave you such a good candidate for a disciple, how about visiting me on the 46th floor every once in a while? The other person on the other side answered.

“No way, you'll just give me chores I don't want to do,” he answered before canceling the transmission and paying attention to Hilda and Shila again as the anteater licked them up.

“God, that's disgusting,” he muttered, opening his flask and drinking the rest.
