Convincing the strongest saiyan in all of existence that Kakarot, who was currently half the prince's strength, could help him reach new heights was a daunting and nearly impossible task.
Thankfully it was one made slightly easier with the inclusion of two full trays of food and a gravity watch. Even still, it only tipped the scales in his favor just enough to make the prince hear him out. And though he now had Vegeta's attention, they had yet to make any formal agreements. It was up in the air at this point whether or not the man would come around.
"I have to admit.. this technology is somewhat impressive. You're telling me this insignificant bracelet can replicate the gravity conditions of our homeworld?" Vegeta asked while holding up one of the devices and scrutinizing it intently.
The duo currently sat alone in the royal training chamber. Before the saiyan prince lay two now empty trays. Based on the leftover evidence that now covered Vegeta's armor, he had scarfed down both piles of food with only minor convincing.
Kakarot nodded savagely and grinned with closed eyes. "Oh it can do so much more than just that, Vegeta! It's a watch, first off, so it tells local times and locations as well. As for the gravity effect, that can go up to 100 times that of Earth's or roughly 10 times higher than our home. It's also an open line communicator." He explained with confidence.
Vegeta gasped and nearly dropped the invaluable object. "You're kidding me.." He asked appalled.
"And you invented this?" The short saiyan questioned, looking at Kakarot incredulously.
The younger man beamed and closed his eyes once more. "Nope! My wife, Bulma did, hahahaaa!" He said proudly.
Vegeta looked down at the watch clutched in his left hand, deep in thought with himself. 'That woman… Figures..' The saiyan prince looked back up at the man and said, "I wondered why you were with such a creature. Saiayns only take strong mates, but.. it's clear I misjudged her." He placed the watch around his wrist and pressed a button.
*Beep!* Gravity set to… 25G
Vegeta gasped and his knees nearly buckled as he suddenly found himself weighing nearly two tons. With a shaky breath he forced himself to his feet.
On trembling knees he began to laugh. "Ahahahaha! Yes, this is exactly what I needed to push myself to the next level." He turned and looked at the still smirking saiyan who stood several inches taller than himself.
"All right, Kakarot. I'll make you a little deal. If only to have access to this nifty little device and others in the future…" The prince proposed.
Stolen story; please report.
Kakarot nodded to show he was listening before Vegeta continued. ".. You, Raditz, Nappa and Myself will all meet here once a week. Bring lots of food. And NO Earthlings!" He cut his right arm through the air as he stated his demands.
"Hey, honestly I'll take what I can get! Trust me.. I know that you think torturing yourself is the only way to get strong but.. if you hone your mind and soul while taking care of your body, your energy will be much more stable and you can use it alot more efficiently!" He lectured.
A look of concern crossed his features. "I can practically feel your Ki screaming in pain.." Kakarot didn't necessarily intend to scan people's Ki, it was just something he sort of did instinctively. As far as manipulating Ki and tuning one's self into the energy around them, Kakarot had no equal.
Vegeta scoffed. "And that's another thing that absolutely will not be happening. I stand above you, Kakarot. You will not lecture me, challenge me or defy me at any point. Same goes for your friends. Understand, low class?" The Prince swethed.
Kakarot frowned and adopted a hurt expression. "Sheesh.. you don't have to be so mean about it.. But a deal's a deal!" He agreed with a closed eye smile.
Kakarot scooped up the trays and made his leave, allowing the prince his privacy once more. As he made his way towards the others he couldn't help but call back over his shoulder, "Thanks, Vegeta. This is a big first step for all of us. You're going to lead us to victory against this tyrant who killed our people."
With that, the Earth raised saiyan nodded determinedly and redoubled his pace. He too needed to get back to training. He had come far but he had to remember, he didn't have a tail like the other saiyans did. Even if he managed to keep up with them in base he would fall far behind in the overall pyramid of power, and then he would be all but useless.
While not as intense as the prince of all saiyan's, Kakarot's pride in himself was also something fearsome and it would not allow him to become a burden… He would protect the ones he loved most.
He sensed to some degree that all of the Z warriors were together, save Raditz, Nappa and Piccolo who Kakarot could sense training with one another in one of the several chambers. "Glad to see Piccolo not getting excluded.. I knew that would really piss him off given that he's just as strong as any of us, except Vegeta."
The Saiyan from Earth entered what equated to the cockpit. In the center of the room was a large pedestal looking platform that housed the captain's chair.
Straight ahead from that was a massive rectangular glass structure that allowed all present to see into the depths of space. Unsurprisingly, at the speed at which they currently traveled, everything looked like streaks of squiggly lights.
"Goku!" Krillin called over. He was standing directly in front of the rectangular structure looking out into space.
The saiyan walked over with a smile. "Krillin! What's up?" He asked. Krillin shrugged, looking out into space as it passed them by at warp-speed. "Honestly hard to say anymore.." He mumbled.
Kakarot watched as the bright lights of space flashed in his friend's eyes. He smiled. He was glad they were all doing this together. He wouldn't have it any other way.
Krillin laughed and shook his head. "Anyways, that Nappa fellow.. He's still scary as fuck. But he's not the worst person I've ever met, surprisingly. He sure does worship Vegeta though.. That's one guy I really can't stand. His Ki aura is awful." He said with a shudder.
Kakarot merely chuckled. "You let me worry about him. So anyways.. Any idea where we're heading to, or are we just trying to keep ahead of Frieza and his goons?"
Krillin scratched his chin and placed a hand on his hip. "Well according to Nappa, we're going to pick up another saiyan. One who apparently looks exactly like you, Goku." He answered.
Kakarot raised an eyebrow. "Wait really? How bizarre."
Nodding Krillin continued. "Apparently his name is Turles. And Nappa says he's an even bigger dick than Vegeta is.. Thankfully he doesn't seem to be nearly as high up on the totem pole of strength." He explained.
The bald monk sighed. "But he did mention the reason why we're going to find this guy is that they apparently discovered some way to get a lot stronger in a really short amount of time. The process takes a year and they've still got 6 more months to finish which is coincidentally exactly how long it'll take us to reach them so.. get comfortable I guess." He finished with an exasperated slouch.
Staring out into the vastness of space, Kakarot couldn't help but feel his saiyan blood boil. Sure he kind of missed the Earth a little bit, especially Grandpa Gohan, Master Roshi. Gero and Kami.. But in truth he felt like he was sort of outgrowing the planet. He had been bored with it. At least now he would get to have tons of adventures and meet all kinds of incredibly strong people. With a determined fire in his eyes he nodded and clenched his fist. "Alright! I'm excited!"
