Chapter 51. Creation of a memory cube.

“What?” Xania and Anise both ask at the same time as the queen doesn't respond.

Anise suddenly tries to attack the queen, intending to incapacitate her as she blocks it with ease, teleporting away with some weird form of holy magic combined with divinity preventing Xania from stopping her.

“What the hell,” Xania thinks to herself before teleporting herself and Anise back to their room where she lies down on the bed.

“My lord, if what that woman said is true, it could be related to the creation of so many new heroes,” Anise said as Xania ignored her.

“I'll go investigate this in any old scrolls and the elves library and any other sources I can find, you just… stay here and be useless, “Anise said as she teleported out.

“Guess I should do something too huh?” Xania thinks to herself, slowly getting up as she pulls her scythe out, looking at the cracks as she attempts to fix it but failing.

“Dammit… I'll need Hepast to help me again,” Xania keeps her scythe back as she makes a mental note to do so, feeling way too lazy to do it currently.

Xania sits back down, finding nothing to do before remembering how using her divinity nearly gave her unhealable scars and finds her divinity currently filled to the brim with the capacity not sufficient despite higher and deciding to increase her divinity capacity.

“Ok… how do I do this? This is Anise's specialty, not mine.” Xania muttered to herself as she got up and started to walk about the room, partially remembering the magic circle Anise created before to absorb divinity as she herself tries it, succeeding partially but the quality being so bad that it uses more divinity to create than pulls in.

“Well, that's a problem,” Xania keeps trying as the quality slowly increases, the ability to absorb slowly increasing more than the amount being used but not being as high as Anise's one as Xania contemplates whether or not to just use it before sighing.

“It'll be more efficient to get Anise's help but… I don't have a single clue if she's in the underworld, the elves kingdom or god knows where and seriously do I hate hide and seek.” Xania thinks to herself, materializing a coin with a 1 on one side and a 2 on the other as she flips it into the air.

“1 is elf, 2 is underworld,” she said softly to herself as she caught it, slowly revealing it to be the elves which she honestly wasn't hoping for. Well to be fair, both options are ones she doesn't want to visit.

  “...”

“Guess time to visit,” Xania teleports to the elf kingdom, immediately using detection magic to try to find Anise, determined to save time as she doesn't find Anise but alerts the queen of her presence as she teleports to Xania.

“Demon lord, what are you doing her—” The queen tries to ask as Xania teleports away, interrupting her, teleporting to the portal back by her scythe into the underworld as she steps through, using her detection magic and to no one's surprise, couldn't find Anise due to the demon kingdom being pretty far away.

“Annoying,” Xania teleports to the demon kingdom, using detection magic as it doesn't locate Anise.

“The underworld is still messed up from the instability before so the mana density is still pretty high, detection magic and honestly, everything consisting of Amna will be affected,” Xania said to herself as she teleported around the kingdom, her teleportation also being affected, using detection magic at the same time.

Xania eventually scans the whole demon kingdom, finding nobody as she gives up while teleporting onto one of the still partially ok parts of the wall as she sits down, her legs swinging off the edges while looking over the ruins of the demon kingdom.

“This looks so similar to that scene, the one in the memory cube,” Xania said to herself as she suddenly detected a small change in mana from above, extremely above.

“It's probably nothing…” Xania thinks to herself, knowing that she's lying to herself, “dammit, fine, I'll go check it out,” she said out loud this time while complaining.

Xania quickly starts flying up using her wing to above, eventually getting bored and just teleporting to the core to let herself fall down instead of taking the time to fly up.

As she teleports, she finds the source of the mana change even higher, most likely in the core—the thing that tried sucking her into itself before and nearly turned the underworld into the abyss 2.0.

“What the hell is Anise doing up there? Xania said while destroying the barrier and teleporting in, finding Anise there, messing about with the core.

“Anise!” Xania shouts, catching Anise's attention who gets surprised at her presence.

“My lord, what are you doing here?” She asked, getting distracted as a weak wave of mana flies in every direction from the core.

“Anise, what are you doing here?” Xania asks, walking up to Anise.

“I found some old scrolls saying that the core was connected to the first demon lord and I believe that they were a lot more knowledgeable than us about this,” Anise answers, slightly annoyed by the distraction and stats fixing the core and messing with it again.

“They? We had more than a single demon lord back then?” Xania asks, chasing Anise to get slightly more annoyed, “no, it's because I have no clue about their damn gender, the picture you saw previously was just an estimate seeing as their estimated to be a male,” Anise said as Xania opens her mouth to ask what Abuse predicts will be a waste of time question and shushes her.

  “Rude…”

Xania sits down and watches Anise, wanting to ask about the magic circle for divinity but not wanting to disturb Anise as the divinity around them suddenly starts getting sucked into the core, “Anise, what are you doing?”

“Trying something,” Anise answers as more and more divinity starts getting sucked in, revealing a magic circle which appears for a moment due to the extreme amount of divinity suddenly. Xania memorizes it just in case it becomes useful.

As more divinity gets sucked in, it eventually sends a wave of divinity out from the core, sending Anise slightly away.

“You okay?” Xania asks as Anise nods in response, “yea, I even got what I wanted.”

“Which is?” Xania asks, curious about what she could have even gotten.

“This,” Anise pulls out a memory cube, confusing Xania on how she got it.

  “How did you…”

“I found out divinity allows you to look into the past, you just need somewhere such as the core, to contain it.”
