Prologue - Wake Up

Out in the desert where the scorching sun shined its oppressive heat, which baked the sands below. Down below in a tiny hole lies an arthropod illuminated by a small amount of sunlight, one with claws and an exoskeleton the color of the sands around it, camouflaging it.

Mandibles could be seen around their mouth and a segmented tail which had a stinger at the end of it, hanging ominously.

It was a scorpion and now it had started to awaken. It clicked its claws and mandibles before looking around its surroundings in what seemed to be confusion.

"Huh? Where the hell am I?” Hans muttered as he took in his surroundings. “This certainly isn’t my room so…”

Hans didn’t finish his sentence as he felt that something was attached to his behind and the fact that he couldn’t feel his arms and hands whatsoever but saw two claws replacing them. He heard a clicking noise before he realized it was coming from him and his new set of mandibles.

”What the fuck,” Hans muttered in horror, he nervously raised one of his claws and began closing and opening it, observing the sandy color of the exoskeleton that covered it, he then proceeded to move his stinger around and clicked his mandible.

Claws, mandible, tail and stinger, and exoskeleton? There was only one creature that Hans knew that possessed all of these traits and that was a scorpion, which was most definitely not a human.

  Heh...

”...Haha…” Hans weakly laughed, he couldn’t be a scorpion right? Right? After all, he remembers being born a human and raised as one, he went to school and everything! There was no way in hell he was a fucking insect or whatever group this thing belong to!

“This could be just a dream,” He said with desperate panic. "Yes, a dream, that's it. This is all just a dream and I'm currently at my bed, sleeping." Hans then proceeded to raise one of his claws and try to swing at himself but he found he wasn’t able to do so with the horrible range and flexibility of his claws.

After trying to do so many times, Hans grew frustrated and spotting a nearby rock, flung himself at a rock, denting his exoskeleton a bit as he recoiled in pain.

“Fuck that hurts!” Hans cursed loudly. “Guess I can safely say that this isn’t a dream, huh? Aarrgghh! I’m seriously a scorpion! Why? What bad thing—“
