Jason had worked hard at these skills and he was proud of them. He had one last goal in mind. Learn Enchanting. During the first day of the sixth week since the game’s release, Jason was off to Bob’s Enchantments. Arriving at the shop, he confidently walked in. At this point, after all the repeated quests, Jason’s reputation with the crafters is sky-high. He is immediately bombarded by a strong sense of magic permeating the air. He also sees who he assumes is Bob sitting on a chair behind a counter. Bob quickly introduced himself and ushered Jason to the back. “Welcome! Welcome! Jason, I assume.” Before hearing an answer, he continued, “Of course it’s you! I have heard much about you. Well, welcome to my shop and the wonderful world of enchanting!” Bob excitedly showed Jason diagrams and charts and talked passionately about his specialty for a long while. Eventually, he showed a demonstration of applying a simple Ever-Sharp enchantment to a wooden dagger. Jason, after all the talking and now the demonstration, learned the Enchanting skill.
After another 5 days of grinding in enchanting as well as significant time spent fighting, Jason was happy with the level of his skill as well as his level
Jason had finally completed his goal of learning all of the crafting skills he could from his starting town. It may have taken seven weeks, but he was satisfied with what he had accomplished. On the last day, he used his newly gained knowledge of enchanting to apply some basic enchantments to his sword.
Jason was now able to kill many basic enemies in a single hit. Jason now faced a conundrum. He wasn’t exactly sure what to do next, but he decided to ask the local crafters what his next step should be. He received a few different answers such as, “Go to the capital and find a master to study under”, “go to a crafter’s academy and study there”, or even “Save money until you can open a basic shop in a location which needs one”, but one struck him especially hard. That being “ask Mistress Katrina if she would teach you”. After asking around, he discovered that Katrina was a renowned crafter of a nearby kingdom who joined the Wandala kingdom after the “great war” to stay safe. She is apparently quite the crafter, or at least that’s what Jason heard. She was known to live somewhere near the nearby town of Sharnwick. Jason believed that this was his best course of action, but before he could leave to search for Katrina, he received a message.
Hello Crafter Jason!
This is the player “Stoney”.
I was wondering if you could make me a weapon. I am currently staying at an inn in Grafburg. Please meet me by the west entrance to the crafter’s sector at 8 AM tomorrow for more details.
Thank you!
~Stoney~
Jason was very excited about his first request. It was mid-afternoon when he received it so he had plenty of time to prepare. During the next few hours, he sorted all of his metals, hides, and various other materials. He also asked Brock if he could use his forge the following day. After a nice meal and some relaxing ale, Jason logged out of the game.
The next morning after logging back into the game and leaving his Inn room, Jason quickly arrived at the meeting spot, sporting a black cloak he bought during his time fighting in the dungeon.
He even added an enchantment himself. After admiring his cloak, he checked the time. 8:00. Then he saw a golem with the name Stoney floating above his head. Jason approached the golem and said, “Hey there Stoney! I’m Jason. I saw that you were interested in a custom weapon?” The golem nodded, pulled out a large strange rock, and said, “Sure am Jason! I want a hammer and I want this piece of metal used somehow.” Jason replied, “I can make that happen, what’s your budget, and any special requests?” Stoney replied with, “125 gold, and make sure the hammer is heavy.” Jason replied, “Sounds perfect, hand me that rock and meet back here in 5 days?” Stoney replied, “That works, see you then.” Jason replied, “Wait! Quick question, what is your magic stat”. Stoney replied with, “112”. Jason took the rock and went back to his room to ponder ideas. He had to use the rock, but he had other metals such as silver and even a little bit of rarer metals that he had obtained through mining and traveling merchants. One metal he had only a single rock of caught his interest.
He also appraised the mysterious rock.
Jason was surprised to see that it wasn’t even a metal. By the end of the day, he had decided to use the golem heart covered in lead, gravitational lead, and silver. For the handle, he would use a steel rod covered in raging bull hide, a rarer variant of bull. He had also asked Bob for advice on enchantments. He had recommended an enchantment he didn’t know called the Weighted enchantment which was quite self-explanatory. He had decided to also use a force enchantment, a downgraded version of the ultra-force enchantment he previously used. The second day he began forging and tanning the hide. By the end of the day, he had forged the iron rod and the layer of gravitational lead that surrounded the golem’s heart. He had also finished tanning the hide and had wrapped it around the rod. On the third day, as he forged the next layer of lead, Jason attempted to infuse magic into the metal as he forged. Sadly his attempt ended in failure.
After a few more attempts he eventually succeeded by infusing his hammer with magic rather than directly into the metal.
His blacksmithing skill was leveled up and the name changed. He had also leveled up and unlocked another class. He continued the pattern once more and chose Alchemist.
It was an easy choice of Double Skill.
These attempts took substantial time and he had to finish the layer the following day. On the next and final day, after finishing the lead layer, he attempted to infuse magic into the silver. This time, he succeeded on the first try. After forging the magic silver layer, he assembled the hammer.
He leveled up twice more. He brought the hammer to the meeting spot and found Stoney. He showed him the hammer. Stoney was awed, “That is quite the hammer do you mind sharing its status with me.” After sharing the status, Stoney was even more impressed, “That is one heck of a hammer, I will surely spread the word about your skill. Thank you!” After trading with Stoney for 17 gold, which included a 2 gold tip because of how impressed Stoney was. For the next few days, Jason grinded his skills to make sure he could impress Katrina. He mined and smithed. He skinned and tanned. He even trained in the dungeon. The fruits of his labor were impressive. He chose Enchanter as his class for level 30.
He chose the repair option which increased its level once again.
