Vol 3 Chapter 9 | Measurement of Everyone’s Strength

Taking the elevator to the research b beh the headquarters of the "Alliance of All Living Things," Tia made a beeline for a specifi.

  "We've arrived; it's here."

She opehe door, revealing a room filled with a variety of equipment.

", I'll be testing your attribute affinities, magical power levels, and any other potential traits."

The official name of the wand was "Energy Guidand trol Auxiliary Tool." Naturally, adjustments had to be made to imprint different spells onto the wand, with the most crucial adjustment being the attribute affinity.

Having an affinity for a certain attribute doesn't mean one is limited to only using that attribute; rather, it means one gains an advantage when utilizing the affinity-reted attribute.

Acc to a theory proposed by a certain witch, magic is an energy derived from the soul, and both attribute affinity and magical power are influenced by different soul types.

The ambient magi the enviro, which is subject to the influence of the surroundings, often tains various attribute-based magic. When living beings attempt to absorb this external magic, they must filter and vert it before use. This is one of the reasons why having an affinity for the corresponding attribute in a matg enviro provides a signifit advantage. However, most people today choose to rely on their own magical power, as it is purer, more potent, and more effit.

"Pce your hands here and i yic. Just like when you test your strength at the Adventurer’s Guild."

Tia expined while busily adjusting various instruments beside them.

  "Let's have Veridith go first."

  "Okay."

Veridith stepped forward, pg her hand on the devid iing her magic.

In the moment, the instrumeed a light with equal amounts of green and purple.

"Hmm... It’s a banced affinity for Wood and Poison attributes... Her magic power level, if verted, is around 1600 to 1700."

Due to restris pced on the 'System' by its creators, only a few beings with special permissions use the "Information" pao spy on others. As such, instruments like this one, which measure magical power through the iion of magic, were created to circumvent these limitations.

In fact, magic tools that could roughly measure a person’s tier existed long before the "System" was created. The "System" merely quantified and dispyed individual abilities in more detailed ways. As long as no one directly uses "Information" on another person, such tools are generally permitted.

Of course, these numbers are merely for referehey don’t provide a linear measure of strength, as factors like skills and other variables also e into py.

  "Alright, !"

After Veridith, it was Misako's turn.

As usual, Misako had to raise her hand to the level of the device due to her height, but the moment she ied her magic, the instrument fred to life with a dazzling light—brighter than when Veridith tested her power.

"Wow!!! So much light! My eyes!"

Tia quickly raised her hands to shield herself from the intense brightness.

  "Quick! Lower the sensitivity!"

At Tia’s and, the light gradually faded, settling to a level just slightly brighter than when Veridith’ magic was measured.

"...Phew... at least it didn’t explode... Wait, let me check the results."

Rubbing her eyes, Tia g the instrument’s dispy.

"...This magic power is extraordinary, some adjustments are needed... As for the attribute affinities, Lightning and Fire dominate, with a touch of Water. Magic power is around... yeah, over 58,000."

Upon seeing the results, Tia quickly realized what this meant.

A magic power level of 58,000 was terrifying, at least for someone like Tia, who specialized in magical engineering but cked mubat ability.

That number, even if all of it was allocated to magic, was beyond what even a high-tier Adventurer rand Magus could achieve. Such a level of magic power was something that would only be seen in a Tier 10 powerhouse. In other words, Misako was a Tier 1th.

Although Tia had seen Tier 10 beings before—and even stronger ones—having oand in front of her asking for help to craft a wand was a first.

Needless to say, she was absolutely thrilled. This was an experie many would ever enter.

  "Alright, good. one."

Tia’s excitement alpable as she jotted down notes on her magical crystal tablet. Meanwhile, Farkonia smirk and pced her hand on the device.

Having just adjusted the sensitivity, the light emitted from the device was dimmer this time, though still brighter than Veridith’ test.

"Magic power is around 45,000—still quite formidable. As for the attribute affinity... it's almost all attributes!?"

Though Tia had already been somerepared fh magical power due to Misako's extraordinary result, Farkonia's attribute affinity was a different matter altogether.

With near-plete affinity to all attributes, Farkonia could freely use any form of magic, even if there were slight differences. pared to those with a siribute affinity, Farkonia’s capabilities were nothing short of monstrous.

This wasn’t some otherworldly thing where multi-attribute affinity meant slrowth—in fact, in some cases, it could actually result in faster progress.

  "...Alright! !"

Finally, it was Aris’s turn. After the surprises with the others, Tia couldn’t wait to see what made Aris unique.

  "...ion?"

However, when Aris ied her magic, the device showed no response.

At first, Tia thought it might be due to the sensitivity adjustments she had made, so she switched it back to normal levels and even maxed it out, but still, nothing happened.

"This is strange. Did something simir happen when you were tested at the Adventurer's Guild?"

Aris nodded slightly. She hadn’t been able to measure her strength through the crystal ball there, and only after the Guildmaster ducted a personal test was a result obtained.

Tia pondered for a moment, then suddenly turned serious, looking to the others.

"Let me ask you all something—what do you thirength is roughly on the scale? No need for details, just pare her to yourselves."

"...Aris is strohan all of us bined."

  "Multiple times"

  "She obliterate anyone... anything"

  "...That’s w..."

Hearing Farkonia and the others’ answers, Tia let out a long sigh, gazing upward.

"I’ll be blunt with you. Whether or not you use the wand doesn’t really matter. It’s like this—if a spell could blow a town into the sky, having the wand will only make the explosion a few timeters stronger. Do you still want it?"

  "...Yes."

Although the difference seemed minor, Aris felt that any additional power could still make a differen battle. Plus, seeing everyone else getting their wands made her feel like it would be odd not to have one herself. She couldn’t fully expin why, so she decided to push the feeling aside for now.
