Short Story 2

“I can’t wait! I can’t wait! I can’t wait!” Milo jumps jubilantly around the living room nimbly avoiding all obstacles. “You’re that excited, huh?”, I glance over the book I’m reading. Milo finally stops ricocheting off the walls of the room stopping in front of the couch I’m sitting on. “Well, yeah! You never take me to the park, Shimo.” “What do you mean? I take you to the park. Sometimes.” Milo raises an eyebrow. I chuckle. “Okay, okay. I don’t take you to the park that much.” I close my book, pick up my phone, and raise myself out of the chair. “Are we going now?” “Yes. Now go put on your shoes, Milo.” “Okay!”, Milo happily replies and rushes to his room.

“You ready to go?”, I ask. “Yeah!”, Milo says with a smile. The moment I open the door, Milo rushes out and runs ahead. “Hey! Wait for me!” I call out, closing and locking the door, I put on my headphones to perform a much-needed catharsis.
