STORY 3 ASSASIN – Chapter 7.1 (They Have Long Been Dead?)

His wife is gone, his child is gone, but at least Jin San still has a simple house. However, Jin San can no longer be called Jin San; from now on, he is Bao Mu. Jin San doesn't understand how there could be two identical people in the world. He has never seen Bao Mu, and he doesn't know how much he resembles Bao Mu, but now he has seen someone again, and life has returned to him. Although it's in a different pce, with different people, having something is better than having nothing.

The bck box was still there, and the drumstick was quietly hiding inside. Jin San didn't understand why this thing always clung to him, nor did he know what the drumstick was for. Under the candlelight, it just looked like a used piece of wood. Jin San sighed, feeling a bit suffocated in his chest, perhaps from sitting too long. He stood up and walked out of the room.

The yard wasn't big, but it was piled high with boxes. What were these boxes for, and why were they stacked here? Jin San felt curious. He casually tried to lift one of the boxes closest to him, but it was nailed shut. Jin San searched the entire yard and finally found an iron shovel in a corner. He slid it into the barely visible gap in the box, and the box emitted a "squeaky" and unpleasant sound, and the lid fell to the ground along with this piercing noise.

When the drumsticks came into Jin San's view, he felt a headache. He didn't expect to see these annoying things here again, and not just one, but a whole pile of them. They varied in size, age, length, and thickness. Jin San kicked one of the boxes hard, then picked up a shovel and struck another box beside it. Still drumsticks. Jin San felt a bit nauseous.

Jin San felt a bit nauseous. He began to suspect that Bao Mu made a living by making drumsticks or by buying them. In any case, he couldn't escape from drumsticks. Jin San forcefully threw the shovel on the ground.

Maybe leaving this courtyard is a good idea. By the time Jin San thought of this, he had already stepped out of the courtyard.

The street should be bustling with activity.

The street should also be brightly lit.

The street should be the pce with the most people.

  But Jin San saw nothing.

There were indeed many shops on the street, and the shops were indeed open, but unfortunately, there wasn't a single person; at least Jin San hadn't seen anyone so far. If there were no people on the street, Jin San would still find it strange, but there weren't even any shopkeepers or assistants in the shops, which made Jin San feel astonished. Just then, his stomach growled; he needed something to eat to replenish his energy. He casually found a restaurant and walked in.

"Is anyone there?" Jin San cleared his throat and shouted.

"I'm here to eat; is anyone there?" Jin San added.

No one answered, so Jin San helplessly found a stool and sat down. His stomach was growling incessantly. What kind of pce is this Frog City, where not a single person can be seen?

"Here is the food you ordered." The voice suddenly rang out, startling Jin San so much that he fell off the stool.

The waiter looked very pale. He pced the food on the table and left without a word, disappearing behind a bck curtain.

Jin San propped himself up with the table and climbed back up from the floor, then sat down in his original seat. The food was cold, and it even had a slightly moldy smell. There were small white creatures crawling on the yellowed rice. Jin San believed he had vomited more than once, maybe even bile. But no matter how much he called out or shouted, no one paid attention to him, no one cared, no one asked about him. Jin San felt furious and pushed all the food on the table to the ground.

"You shouldn't waste food." Jin San finally heard a voice again, this time a pleasant woman's voice. He turned around.

With a tiger's back and a strong waist, thick eyebrows and big eyes, muscur arms covered in bck hair... A woman with such heavy body hair? Jin San thought about covering his mouth to ugh, but he quickly dismissed the idea when he saw the woman gripping a sharp kitchen knife in her strong hand.

"Bao Mu, did you come here today to cause trouble for me?" The woman waved the knife and gred at Jin San.

  Jin San didn't respond.

"Bao Mu, it seems that unless I show my strength, you wouldn't know who you're dealing with!" After speaking, the woman raised the kitchen knife and charged toward Jin San. Terrified, Jin San kept retreating, shouting, "Don't do it, don't do it! What's going on? You gave me spoiled food, and now you want to chop me?"

The woman's hand was still suspended in midair, but her feet halted just in time. "What did you say? Are you really stupid or just pretending to be? Today, I gave you spoiled food, and that's already showing you mercy, and you still dare to criticize me!"

Jin San had never heard such unreasonable words, nor had he ever heard such illogical things. He stood there with his mouth open, staring at the woman, unsure of what to say in response to her.

"Bao Mu! Are you out of your mind, coming here to cause trouble for Boss Mo?"

"Bao Mu! Did you take the wrong medicine?"

"Bao Mu! I bet you're just groggy from sleep!"

"Bao Mu! Anyway, it's all your fault!"

  ...........................

Jin San didn't know when a crowd of people had gathered, as if they had suddenly popped out of the ground. They all started shouting at him, bming him from all directions. Jin San was dizzy; he suddenly realized that everything around him had changed; nothing seemed normal anymore. He had no choice but to shout, "I'm not Bao Mu, I'm Jin San!"

No one said anything anymore, and the noise stopped. Everyone turned to look at Jin San.

"I don't know what's going on, and I don't know how I ended up here. But one thing's for sure: I'm not Bao Mu; I'm Jin San!" Jin San was determined to make them understand this.

"He's starting to act up again." This unkind remark came from some bystander, and Jin San really wanted to shove all the spoiled rice into that person's mouth.
