For some reason, all the people opened their eyes.
"Haha..." Finally, someone burst into ughter. "I can finally catch them all in one go, haha."
"It′s you!" Mei Ying'er forced a bitter smile. She had never doubted him because he was a man who never joked around. She had always trusted him, as his actions had earned that trust. But... in this world, the ones you trust the most are often the ones who betray you the easiest.
"I've been waiting for this day, waiting for everyone to gather here."
"You want to kill everyone, because you don't want that thing to fall into anyone's hands. So, you've been waiting for Jin San to appear."
"Yes, I've been waiting all this time."
"You used us to find Jin San and trigger his memories, so you could get back that thing," Mei Ying′er said with a bitter smile.
"So I poisoned all of you but spared Jin San. Once I′ve dealt with you all, I will go find him. He said he would fulfill our wish, and I can pretend to be alive. That way, Jin San will help me find that thing."
"Then you will destroy it, so no one will ever know your true identity. You can become anyone you want, and no one will ever be able to kill you again!" Mei Ying′er gasped, forcing herself to speak despite the intense pain.
"Back then, Bao Mu stole that thing reted to my identity and hid it in a secret pce, a pce only he and his wife knew about. Fortunately, Bao Mu never looked inside and just hid it away. However, who would have thought that one day his wife would leave him because of his identity as an assassin, and he would die at my hands? So, it became a secret."
"But we've always been searching for a way to unlock this secret, to uncover your true face. Unfortunately..." Mei Ying′er sighed softly.
"Unfortunately, you still don't know my true face. What you see now is just a mask. You're about to die, and you'll never know my secret. Now, I am going to find Jin San to find that thing. I will burn it all, so that no one in this world will ever know who I am."
Everyone closed their eyes. Mei Yiner knew they had taken their leave. She said, "From the day we decided to become assassins, it was a mistake. It doomed us to always obey you, Chánchú!"
"Sigh, if you hadn't betrayed me, you would have all been my most capable right hands. It's a shame you decided to no longer be assassins."
Mei Ying′er smiled faintly, saying nothing more.
"I truly admire you. After everything, you can still smile. But I have no intention of watching you die with that smile."
`Chánchú′ left.
Mei Ying′er knew she was about to die but she still smiled. It was a smile of excitement, of happiness. With her st breath, she whispered softly, "We succeeded..." Mei Ying′er finally closed her eyes.
"You must be lost," the waiter asked, standing beside Jin San.
Jin San widened his eyes and looked at the waiter. "You're not dead? I thought all of you had..."
"Maybe the poison didn't affect me as much, so I'm still alive," the waiter smiled at Jin San.
"What about them?" Jin San asked, deeply concerned about the people of Chánchú City.
"They're all dead," the waiter lowered his head, a look of sadness in his eyes.
Jin San didn't speak, also lowering his head. He had already expected this.
"You said you would fulfill that wish, so now you can go ahead and do it," the waiter said, smiling again.
"Alright!" Jin San responded readily and stood up.
"Good, let's go. We'll head back now," the waiter said excitedly, grabbing Jin San's arm.
Without warning, a steel knife plunged into the waiter's heart, so sudden that neither the waiter nor anyone else had any time to react. The waiter stared bnkly at Jin San, not understanding what had just happened.
"You?" the waiter asked, confused.
"The wish has been fulfilled," Jin San said coldly, staring at the waiter.
"What are you talking about?" The waiter was confused, unable to understand Jin San's words.
"My target is 'Chánchú′," Jin San said.
The waiter gaped in shock, asking, "Who are you?"
"I am an assassin!" Jin San sneered.
"Then where is Jin San?" The waiter was utterly bewildered.
"I don't know. Maybe he's alive; maybe he's dead. In any case, I don't know Jin San," Jin San said lightly.
"Huh?" The waiter was stunned. He asked, "Who is your employer?"
"Mei Ying'er." Jin San said, and with that, he had already disappeared into the distance.
The waiter finally colpsed. He had once believed that he was the true winner, that everything was under his control. No one would ever know his identity, so no one could find him. He believed he could eliminate everyone who betrayed him, but now he realizes he was mistaken. He had never imagined that he had already fallen into a trap, and the one who set the trap was Mei Ying'er. She had hired an assassin and staged a perfect py.
